Replynew feature - show date track updated
 |
I have just adjusted the way the track uploads work.
If you rework your track and then upload it and overwrite the old version is will be noted that the track has been updated and a new date will show next to the original date.
This is only the case if you actually update the track and not just the text that describes it.
It will be expected that people update the original description to explain what changes were made. It would also help if you add the date to your notes so people can see a trail of your updates.
Should anyone choose to try and abuse this by bumping the same track they will loose the ability to upload tracks and possibly face suspension |

Hey Looperman,
I've done this a few times. Mainly to retain the old reviews. Anyways, what I do is completely swap out the song, updating it with the new file and giving it a new description.
And I dunno if this latest update has anything to do with it, but I had another member point out that for some odd reason my 'Tracks' page isn't showing the songs. Below the grey tabs I just get a blank white space in the middle until the end of the page. Just wanted to throw that out there. Later on!

@dv
your tracks show fine to me. If there is a prob it could be a broken tag if your trying to add html to the descriptions
Maybe an archive track option could be useful that deletes the file but keeps the reviews etc and sets the track as non playable and archived. dont hold your breath though, just thinking out loud |

Hey Loopm,
On Internet Explorer they show up just fine, but on Mozilla they don't (well, not the 'Tracks' page part, but individual track review pages will come up). Dunno about Safari or Chrome, because I haven't checked them out yet.
As for the HTML, yeah, that might be it, but I always use just basic code whenever I use it. And here's my list...
B (for bold)
I (for italics)
U (for underline)
BR (for line breaks, ie, hitting enter on the keyboard in a text form)
And very rarely, I use the code for creating shortcut links...
a href=URL target=_blank + label text + /a
Those're the only codes I can recall ever using.
As for 'recycling' tracks, I think I've done it to 4 or 5 songs (scratches head). Maybe that has something to do with it mixed with the new feature, possibly? No big deal really, just throwin it out there.
This new thing is a cool addition BTW. Later on!

I hate to ask stupid questions but where do I upload my tracks? Any help will be highly appreciated. |

@SPD2
go to "My Account"
Choose "Tracks"
Choose "Upload New Track" |

I'm a fan of this change. I tend to upload many sequential versions of my track as I work on it, incorporating whatever advice I get from everyone I talk to who's listening to it.
Thanks for the update. |
