Description
This started life as a dark ambient and to be honest, boring thing I was gonna ditch, but as a last try for something to work with it I tried Gizella's pella 'Winter Rain' and it lifted the whole track. The ambient drum sounds were ditched and I went for a funkier feel, added me playing bass guitar and my fav trick of playing a guitar melody and using 'Wave Tune' to export it as midi and hey presto a flute appears.
I'm trying for a kinda hypnotic kinda thing, which is why its in Chill Out but it could, if you were a little hard of hearing pass a funk, hope you like.

I'm sure the track wouldn't have been boring without Gizella, but she does have amazing vocals and a real presence I think.
Winter rain is pretty cold...but this track is leaving me with a feeling of warmth...nicely put together...and I really love the sound of the flutes...they add real emotional depth.
Hey mate...gotta love this piece..this has a great strolling bass line ..I hate drawing comparisons but it's very Bo Hanson-ish who bought out a Lord of the Rings Album ages ago.(loved it)..this is way better though, more rocky...I really dig Gizella's voice ,she definitely has that spark and timbre that make a singer stand out from the pack...super enjoyable!..pity about the track size limit, this one could groove along for a good ten minutes easily, without overstaying it's welcome...cheers Dave :)

Hey mate, thanks for the kind words again. You gotta love Gizella's voice, its so clear and easy to blend into a track.
I like your use of my acapella, this has some nice elements the flute sound and the drums fit really well. This reminds of the time we are in now, short days and darkness at 5pm...ah the shortest day approaches... Cool track :-)

Thanks Gizella, I am always so relieved when vocalists approve of what I have done especially when I play around with your voice. I think the melancholy sound to the track is not only winter approaching but me getting homesick for Britain as I always do at this time of year.
Thanks for the vox.
You've created a great groove on this track, and I agree it borders on funky. I like the use of the pella, it sounds really good in this context. Interesting how you got that flute sound from your guitar playing. I'm not familiar with "Wave Tune", where did you find that? Very soothing and enjoyable track! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Spiv, sorry for the late reply, I had too have a few days break from computers. 'Tune' is a pitch correction tool made by 'Waves' and it works a little like Melodyne. It has a cool little feature of being able to export your audio 'notes' as midi, so basically I play a melody on the guitar, scan it into Tune and simply export and save the midi file then bring it back into the project and pick an instrument which works well, which is usually something like a flute or strings etc.
Thanks again
