If you have used this acapella leave some feedback or say thanks and post a link to the song you made. Apart from being the right thing to do it also encourages artists to upload more acapellas.
Hi, first of all you have a very soulful voice very warm. I started using your vocal on a track im working on its not quite finished but if you would like a little preview send me an email and ill mail u back a snippet. Ill post it up on soundcloud with your credit of corse but just want to make sure you like it. Its a bit dark as thats my trade mark. Hope to hear from you soon man. BOZCO?
Hey bro I'm just working on editing skills...but i was thinking of using your acapella as background for one of my spoken words. Is that cool? If i get it done soon I'll shoot it your way!
As Cabaso said, you've definitely got some raw talent, which (if you want to improve) needs some training. I think what Cabaso was really pointing out was that there are one or two 'bum notes' in the acapella (I rejected about 50% of the acapella due to integral sections being out of key), which seem to be caused by your inability to really nail the vocal ornamentation that you're going for.
It's not the end of the world and it doesn't make you a bad singer. I'm a guitarist (mostly) and it's just like when I can't quite nail a technical riff due to hitting the wrong fret in the line or not getting a pitch bend just right. It just means that I'm not quite there yet and I'm probably rushing beyond my current ability.
So, what I do is slow it down to a point that I can nail it every time and then increase the speed a little until I'm not quite getting it, then take it down a notch again and repeat the process. Eventually, I can nail what I originally wanted.
In any case, what I did get out of your acapella, I am really happy with. I'm REALLY looking forward to see what you come up with in the future and how you progress as a vocalist.
thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to give me your feedback! I plan on seeking training after I get out of highschool just fyi. I love what you did with the acapella by the way!!
I wouldn't recommend vocal training unless you are serious about singing. It's entirely up to you. My advice would be to listen to feedback and act on it, work with what you have and get the best out of it.
Here's my thoughts - The first 3 words are perfect, the next 2 (i -i -i - i it pou -ohoh - ohwowooow- owwwwooooowwwwow - urs) don't fit. If you can't sing like whitney or Mariah, don't try to. Maximise what you do have.
Listen to the first couple of lines of this track. Sean keeps it simple but the quality of his voice comes through.
Singing like Mariah or Whitney definitely wasn't and isn't the goal when I sing. I sing to sound like no one other than myself.Personally, I think I'm fully capable of singing the words you said don't fit the way I sang them. I do agree however that people who can't sing like Mariah or Whitney should refrain from singing Mariah or Whitney's song.
Vocal gymnastics - where the singer incorporates a lot of "runs" and extra notes to showcase their vocal abilities a la Mariah Carey.
Regarding the vocal training comment, I think it's meant to be taken as feedback (this is what you asked for), unless you didn't get my point then I'll clarify. I recognise the quality, tone and soulfulness of your voice even though I don't think you've had any formal training. Have you?
Oh I see, your description in the first comment didn't really exhibit to me where you were going with this. Feedback is always a positive thing in my eyes, especially when you understand it haha thank you for clarifying! And no I have not had any formal training. Would that be something that you would recommend?
I didn't DL your pella but I'd like to comment. I like the tone of your voice, it is soulful. I doubt you've had vocal training but I still recognise whats beneath . You remind me of Sean Escoffery. The reason I didn't download was because the quality of the recording isn't as good as your previous UL. Also, I don't think you need to participate in vocal gymnastics by holding the end notes. Short sharp lines with confidence that lets the tone of your voice through may sound much better. I'd love to use your vocals in future.
Thank you! Not really sure how to take the vocal training comment.Ironically, this acapella was created in the same way the others were the only difference being the volume of the acapellas which can be easily adjusted. Not really sure what you mean by vocal gymnastics either.Thank you for your insight none the less.

Description : this is spoken vocal of a female picking up her man's call and dropping the bad news that she's met someone else. This would perfect for an intro to a hiphop/r&b song about cheating or love..I know there is a little noise in the background (was picking up the instrumental in my headphones) but it's subtle enough that it shouldnt be heard once this is set to music! Enjoy and I hope you never get this call! ;)

PS. I'm not a singer or musical teacher of any sorts. This is my humble opinion. I'm giving thorough feedback because I like your voice.
I hope someone better qualified than me can join the conversation. I'd love to hear there opinion.
