Discover the 10 tracks that made the most money from royalties

For those of you in the UK or who have access to the BBC iPlayer Mark Radcliffe presents a countdown of the ten songs which have earned the most money of all time - ten classic songs each with an extraordinary story behind them.

Its an interesting hour and a half and Im sure you will have heard every song they have chosen. Some of you may also start to think differently on the all too familiar dream of "Getting Signed" when you see where all the money actually goes.

Not every track that earns millions comes with a happy ending though as we see that its those who own the publishing rights are the final winners.

Which track would you guess is the top earner ?

#1 Has been stuck in my head ever since I heard it on the movie cruel intentions many years ago. To write and perform a song that gets more popular as the decades pass; well - Magic.

there are some nifty add ons for your browser these days that will let you change your ip and country so you can access content from other countries. If you use Firefox there is usually one in the top add-ons list.

I'd guess: Boots Randolph - "Yakety Sax"
Ya know, like whenever you get chased around, I believe that that song plays in the background of your subconscious. They should have had top ten songs that get stuck in people's heads. Like Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" when you're in a running race.
