Now this here........man, where are the words when you need em? So so so great, chill, relaxing, and I'd hug that bear so gently he wouldn't even try to eat me, we'd just listen to this and fall into a coma like sleep LOL.
This is really a nice track guys!!! And a modulation to break it up a bit, ya know I'm DLding this.
Man!!! I enjoyed your tracks way back in 2010 and just now getting back on in 2012,and learning all over again; You are always at the top of your game!!!!I really love this track your music really comes from the heart. You will always be my mentor that sets the pace!!!!Thanks for the gift you share.Peace C Williams
oh oh tell me, how does it bang in the car? all levels ok?? i have been hoping that my mixes are goon in cars too. thnx for the comment again. if u like this one too i suggest u download it and tell me how it sounds in the car as well
Awesome from start to finish! The piano is fabulous the I like the way you've rounded out the low end of the kick. There is a bass that comes in right after the piano arpeggios. It creates in a couple of places some muddy sound probably because of the low kick I'd suggest doing a bell type cut around 90Hz with a very narrow Q to allow the natural frequency of the kick to breathe (you'd be surprised that the bass doesn't necessarily sound strong if it's lows are boosted).
Still a beyond A+ production and sonic quality. A good listening experience. That break before the end was incredible and it certainly made it's impact.
My ears & speakers love your production on this one DextDee, and I note that you are in the talented company of Bear too...It was listening to some of his piano loops that got me thinking I best check around the Loop a bit (I had just been stopping in once in a while to look for drums etc)....Was surprised to find the number of tracks posted and a lot of talent.....This one sure is a pleasant listen this Monday night....Very nicely done....Ed
i have always considered Bear as my boss in this music thing and it was an honor to work with him on this track, and an honor to have a review from u as well. thnx
I seen you around FB and on looperman, but I haven't played any of your tracks. With that said, it has a pretty good melody going. I think the beat is good, but I think it needs some vocals in parts of the track. Overall, good job.
Music4life, i am just a humble beat maker, not a vocalist. i do have vocalist but they are not into this music.
thanks for the review and time. i appreciate it.
dext I must have been sleeping when you put this one across....really like what you did with Barry's loops...and have to say some vocals on here, especially if you could get Nuada to do some for you, would be the icing on the cake.
IMO..there's a couple of notes on here which left a funny "taste" in my ears....some oddities at about 1:24-1:26 which are repeated several more times throughout the song...sounds almost like a wrong note - but that could work for you - some people might really dig that....not being picky just something I thought as I heard it again (and again)...maybe you could remove/cut one or two bass notes there and stretch or add delay/reverb to the last note so it's more in sync with the piano??
Or you could leave it as is and I'll get over it as I listen to it some more....
hahahahaha, what was a funny one. leave it and i would get used to it. well these are some of the track, that i play from my heart, not by reading or memorizing it, so if asked to redo, not quite the same thing. thnx for the comment though. i think what u pointed out sounds fine to me though. i fully appreciate ur comment and input, and still feel free to drop a critique comment on my tunes, i love them, that is the way we improve.
I just saw this track in the featured section..
I love it so much it deserves a second review :)
Actually it's just because I have some questions about the title... lol
Is it, Hug the bear (in order) to sleep.
Hug the bear (so you can finally) sleep ???
Or do you mean Hug the bear to sleep, like in Hug the bear until he sleeps? lol
I love that title man. this song gives me the feeling that I hugged the bear a bit too much and the son-of-a-b*tch killed me and now I'm rising up to the heavens (with this song playing)
Seriously guys I'm love this collab so much that I wish I could fav it multiple times :D
..
lol sorry for writing this stupid review..
The song has already stopped again and I think I should go back to reality now...
hahaha it is all them, actually did not think of the various meaning but most likely, hug the beat in order to sleep is the most likely one i was thinking about. thnx again for the comment
Great track. This is banging. I love the emotional feel of the minor keys. It's always my favorite to play and solo along with on guitar. Great tune indeed. All the best gents. - Bilbozo
hey bill, thnx for the comment and time for dropping by. really appreciated. don't u think it would be awesome if u could solo along this track?? ie, when ur hand gets better?? :)
Solid track Dex, Barry is quite the musician, dude can put some music out! Could be some sad music in a movie scene showing solitude or dispair, very emotional. Nice one guys!
This is a very relaxing tune! Love the strings, and those piano riffs are great! Nice solid beats! Great mixing! Well done guys! Would love to hear this with some vocals!
It was a Grand Day indeed when the Bear returned to us. I've been browsing his loops lately (and directing others to them as well) and keep thinking what an asset to this community he is. You're like that too, my diaspora brother.
This is fantastic. One of those tracks that sounds like you guys were physically together in a studio space, and not across the International Dateline from each other. Got that Hip Hop flavor, but fully grounded in the Chill.
Great collab! Ahahaha title fits! Glad to see
tha Bear taking collabs! I should ask him for one
ahahaha, LUV THAT SNARE and tha roll with tha
hihat finish! Sounds EPIC! great sounding stringz too!
Luving it, awesome pianist work by tha Bear Bus Driver!
Great job, Faved FOSHO
Dext, great job on this. All I did was supply a couple of loops, you did all the rest. Wonderful job and it would be great to hear some of the really good rappers lay some vox over this.
I think my favorite part of this is the bad azz bass you have added.
As usual, you produce some of the best beats on this site, and this one is no exception. Brilliant work. Thanks for the shout out and for allowing me to participate.
lol that bass huh, yea i like it too, the banjo, i can imagine myself with it pulling those C and G strings :p
lol thnx for the work man. more to come. much respect to u
I see ShortBus slowly taking Minor2Go's place...
You can just hear that he's having fun behind the keys at 0:44
What Philo... umm Ojeda is saying could work..
Good luck experimenting with that bro ;)
I also really like the title.. It helps me get rid of my nightmares lol
Description : Sounds of the sea and trippy acidy washes with a cool beat and some live acoustic guitar. Written in Cubase with live guitar and keys etc. The sound of the sea and birds was recorded on the beach where I used to live. After moving to the city one sunny day I was telling stories to a friend about living by the sea and started making this track.
Description : This improv recorded a few years ago powered my interest even further than I expected.....recorded using tc electronics pedal and tascam studio recorder and a Fender Squier tele electric....
Description : I used some new "Anthem" pickups from L.R. Baggs on my Martin acoustic to see how it performed, and it definitely beat my expectations. Captured the sound perfectly as I needed.
Anyhoo, this song is almost a prayer, hence the repetitiveness of the verses. As Christians, we believe that God will one day return and take away every suffering and all evil for good; in that regard, this song is almost one of waiting too. Very simple, with vocal harmonies and whatnot. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Made in 13 hours.
Someone else wrote the words, I was just inspired to use them. I only added the "Yeah" and "Amen."
Description : This is a track off of one of my EP's I dropped last year. It is based on True events. Sometimes when people finally take a second in life to slow down and breathe in..... The oxygen is deflated and it's too late. Take your time people, because time is what differs a good decision over a bad one. Life is precious!

Description : So a guy buys a nice guitar at a pawn shop but returns it a few days later after waking from a sound sleep to hear it playing by itself. When he tells of his experience he is shocked to learn the owner had actually died while playing it. Is it fantasy or truth? Is the guitar in this track that very same guitar? Its all part of the mystery and fun of Halloween !
EDIT: modified ending to a deeper voice
Description : This track describes a magical state that I experienced a long time ago. Maybe you also know the feeling that you can't describe something like this with words ... luckily we have the music for it!
Description : So this is my first Chill Outish track. I was just trying something new and then suddenly this was a thing. Everything you hear is home made. I hope you enjoy. - Mr. Spook'd
Description : That's something i worked out lately
a swing 3/4 hip hop Chill ?? Don't know how to describe this kind of music.
Anyway VOICE NEEDED

Description : A progressive journey incorporating deep ambient chillout, swing jazz, hip hop, d'n'b, trance and a slight touch of acid with a thousand ninjas battling in space. Features a great deal of my lead slide resonator guitar playing. Also a whole load of synths, programmed acoustic drum kits and manipulated drum loops, big basslines, regular electric guitar, vocoded guitar parts and bass guitar (distorted right at the end). If you like deep chill, far out soaring beauty, fat beats and 170 BPM uplifting slide trance controlled mayhem, you might just get into this. In my heaven there is an endless supply of honey mangoes (an exquisite beauty of the fruit world) and even more slide guitar. A 1,000-year-long version of this track plays there on a loop (long enough not to get bored of it) but here I offer you the Earthly 11 min version. You must be very good to be accepted into my heaven to hear the full thousand year version so best start now. It may be heaven's main theme tune but it's not above criticism so feel free to let me know what you think of it. Maybe you prefer the soundtrack in hell. I hear it's pretty badass...

Hope you guys enjoy it and let me know what you think, any feedback is appreciated.

Would you mind if I use about 30-40 seconds of this track for a YouTube video to promote my new book?
