If you have time take a listen and give SGN some feedback.
I can imagine someone using this track to start off a dj set. Something really heavy and dark like techno, dubstep or drum and bass. This would really set the mood before another track comes in with beats and rips the ceiling off. Really nicely produced and a great atmosphere. Well done bro.
Thanks man. Appreciate the listen and the feedback.
PS - Just gotta mention that I love your techno stuff and will get to listening and reviewing your newer sh*t soon (internet's been painfully slow lately, but I'm getting a new connection).
The dark mood you managed to create here with glitches, hollow pads, heavy beats and bass and all is absolutely amazing.
But one can find in this avalanche of darkness some relief too, there were some parts, with lighter pads, that sounded like a shelter. That contrast makes it even more beautiful and fascinating.
That was a wonderful trip SGN, especially with the headphones. Definitely faved.
Thanks a lot Alxsix. And yup, this is meant for headphone listening, as is most of my music. Although this does sound pretty decent played really loud as well...the bass stabs in particular.
Quincy Jones meets Boards of Canada? I think you've just topped yourself on the hyperbolic praise scale Alivid. Seriously though, thank you very much. It does mean a lot that someone as talented..okay I know you don't like that word..someone as good at producing music as you likes this sh*t. It would mean a lot even if you had never made a song in your life, but it means a little bit more considering.
And yes, the 320 is on it's way. I was gonna send it anyway, but I'd have to be a massive d*ck not to especially after the aforementioned pinnacle of hyperbolic praise you so kindly bestowed upon me.
That last bit sounds like I've just flashed back to the 18th century.
Glitch is a genre that is rarely seen on this site due to the lacking amount of people who produce it, so when I saw this its like I had to click it. I'm glad to say that I wasn't at all dissapointed with this track. The slow beeping noises over the top of the wind effects, bass drops and other FX were fantastic. The whole atmosphere is incredibly dark. Its not the sort of thing you want to listen to by yourself in a dark room, because you will be scared. The pads midway though are quite nice though, and sort of bring a peacefulness to the darkness that the track engulfs the listener in. The vocal(?) sample in the middle is pretty awesome as well, and the tinkling bell noises are insanely relaxing, but it always feels like theres something not quite right, an uneasy feeling amongst the happier noises.
This is quite an incredible piece of music, able to invoke contrasting and conflicting emotions into the listeners mind.
Thanks for the great review, Stephen. I was initially gonna put this track under "Ambient", but then I thought people looking for a normal ambient track (you know, something you can just close your eyes and relax to) won't exactly enjoy this. I'm glad the "glitch" part appealed to you.
This initially was mainly a peaceful ambient song with the glitchy percussive bits and dissonance in the background intact, and the initial "dark" part was just four bars, but then I decided to develop the eerie side of it and that was probably for the best.
Anyway, thanks once again for the listen and the review.

Description : My first Glitch-Hop track. I found some creepy/eery ambient and atmosphere loops to fit the mood. I was happy with it at first... But once I started to listen to it more, I realized it could've been better. Oh well, what artist hasn't had that thought?

You know?... I mean, I am just drawn to it. I can't help it.
It sounds wonderful.
I would buy a effing t-shirt. I would rock the SGN, and be like "It's SGN!!!!"

May I have a 320 please!!!!! :)
(You should get AJ, Becca, and Dextdee-- local looperman DJs and others to play your music also)
You remind me of a Quincy Jones meets Boards of Canada
