Description : I wanted to upload a track that I was, for the most part, disappointed with. I finished this track last night (6-27-08) and I feel that this one lacks direction and the production is so-so. It definitely could have come out better. I don't hate it, but it is, in my opinion, not on the same level as most of what I do. Anyway, I just thought it would be interesting to see what kind of reaction I get from the looperman community. I recorded this on Garage Band, the drums are the only loops. The guitars and the bass I play myself. Thanks as always for listening and comments are welcome, good or bad. Peace and Love, Six
ADD ON COMMENT: (8-19-08)
I have come to really like this track. Some seperation has given me a better picture. The overall sound is really good and my playing is definitely a lot stronger than it felt like at the time. It still lacks some diversity, but I am happy with the way it is. Thanks to all of the looperman express for chiming in and giving me your take. I really appreciate it. Peace, Six
This is one of those songs that I think about how great it would be to hear live and loud, this one jams, you're an amazing guitarist (bassist) - there's a calm yet rockin' grovve to this that I like! Nice job!
And when I read the description i couldnt believe that it was looped drums
I havent found crisp drum loops like that in a while.
And your guitar playing is brilliant.
your style reminds me a bit of a guitarist that i love alot
Michael Angelo Batio
but he doesnt play your style, but I dont know something about the way this track is played and made, reminded me of him
Six, I liked the guitar at the start, as it provided a good contract to the solo tone, a solo which was pretty rocking imo. The bassline just rolling away constantly was fine, I ike that kind of repetative thing, kind of hypnotic. And the different guitar tones you shift through keeps it interesting. Nice work.
Chilled but as MrE stated "very beginning. the guitar sounds awkward and slightly off key, other than that this is mint" - i would concur with blairs statement, keep it to 3 notes and it sounds far better than the 4, anywho! - keep it up six
This song sounds good to me I dont hear anything wrong with it... I like it good job and hope to hear more from you... checking out more of your trax =)
good vibe... nice shredding...
i think it takes a special skill to compose multi guitar lead songs... i usually dont like them (i never really like yngwie malmsteen) ... but you do a really good job at it.. i actually like it hehe.
i'd like to shoot you a rhythm track some day.
if your down let me know.. it would just be some random time when i'm feelin it cause i cant have anymore deadlines right now.
and i want to give you something thats top notch to colab on
Hey man thanks as always for listening, I am totally game to give anything a shot! I like your no deadlines idea! That is my kind of time frame...haha. Peace and Love, Six
Hi Six...
Overall, I thought the song sounded pretty good, but I'd like to hear the guitar up front more and stand out. Everytime time I get a song done, I then play it on different speaker systems to see if it will hold up. Many times I find the Bass too boomy and have to go back in and change the EQ or whatever.
Your bass sounded fine and the drums of course. Maybe more variety in the lead?
Anyways, I am about done now with my next 3 part Blues song and hope you'll give it a listen and see what I mean about the lead guitar standing out front more, etc.
Good job on your song overall.
Randy
i dont see how you not happy with this track its great :D i have uploaded my track useing Live but the mastering is really bad.. this tracks mastering is great. its very laid back. and would be nice to sit outside in the sun and drink some coffee.
loved it
Hi Six....Well I've had an exploratory look around inside the patient sowed him back up and have made my diagnosis...A clear case of Hendririffalex.....nothing to be alarmed about...this is the first case I've seen since the late seventies...the cure is not pleasant though.....700 hours of continual exposure to ABBA...
Seriously the reason why it sounds a bit at odds with itself is simple...just too much lead work over the top of the rhythm structure...it happens with some Hendrix songs to,especially his live work......the effect sound on the guitar at one passage closely resembles the bass and it washes it out..when the bass resurfaces again it sounds great......Sheesh!...a lot of guitarists would love to have this problem..including me!...During the later nineties and up until now the lead guitarist has been slowly but surely relegated to a back row seat in popular music, guys like you are bringing it back upfront were it belongs (thank God!)...so I don't think there's any problem at all just over exuberance to a small degree on this track.....cheers planet
I never cease to be amazed by your creativity my friend - Hendriffalex....haha...that is so awesome. If it's a disease I want some! And keep me away from the cure please...ugh...7 minutes of ABBA is about all I can stand before my tenuous grasp on sanity is utterly demolished. Thanks so much for listening and leaving me some very amusing and insightful comments. Peace, Six
Melody line was kind of repetitive and the lead didn't seem to fit. When the melody came back as 3 notes instead of 4 I liked it much better and the lead fit it better. And what about moving the melody line around to like a 1, 4, 5 or some other chord, or I should say note progression. Like if the 3 parts are in A then go to D. Back and forth at parts. Or A,D,E. I'm proably not explaining this right, but I hope you get what I mean. Your rough stuff is still done better than any of my stuff and this has great potential to be another Sixfinger masterpiece.

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).

Description : In the 1700's the Comanche Indians became known as the Lords of the Southern Plains. The Comanche ruled a region that stretched across New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and deep into the Texas Panhandle. The most feared and savage warriors of all the tribes of the old West.
