Description : A slow blues with soulful and heartfelt singing from the mightily talented and hugely gifted Patricia Edwards. The starting point is an acapella of real quality to which I have added an electric rhythm guitar, an acoustic (in an open tuning), a solo (Godin XTSA), a rhodes sounding piano, organ towards the end of the track, bass and of course EZdrums providing the percussion.
Listen to the lyrics too - this kind of thing can happen to anyone!!
Enjoy - comments always welcome.

Excellent Richie. The best Blues I have heard yet on the Loop. We all know PE's vocals are quality but what you have done is a work of musical genius my friend. I stand in awe of a musical talent. Downloaded to enjoy again & again.
Thanks for the comments and for taking the time to stop by and listen. Much appreciated. Patricia is such an immense talent and I hope I've done some justice to her vocal on this one.
this right here, gold. the six string work is incredible, drips with soul. i bet you had fun on that solo. and muzic's voice is wonderful. just a really superb track. im standin and applaudin too.
Thanks for the kind words and particularly the six string work. There are three parts on this track. An open tuned (dropped D) in the background and an electric rhythm track putting in some percussive stuff. Then the solo and yes, it was great fun to do. I always enjoy the challenge of trying to sound like I've never played the same notes before! Patricia's voice is just amazing - she is such an immense talent. Glad you enjoyed the collaboration and thanks again for stopping by to listen and comment. Much appreciated.
Now...this has to be the way that acapella was meant to produce a song...great piece of work Richie....hell...its a fantastic piece of work...you got a fan here my man....Ed
Good to hear from you again and thank you so much for the comments. Much appreciated. I downloaded the acapella quite a while ago and tried to organise a track with it without success. I exchanged emails with Patricia who suggested the timing might be "a bit suspect" so I ended up cutting up all the phrases and placing them around a traditional twelve bar blues. I am pleased the way it turned out.
Glad you liked it and thanks again for taking the time to listen and comment.
Thank you so much for stopping by and listening to the track. I'm so very pleased you liked the track and my interpretation of the blues. Patricia is an enormous talent and I always find it rewarding when collaborating with her.
Hey Richie....Man I can listen to this and see a lot of music has passed under your musical bridge....it's a great if not perfect backdrop for the acapella,no overplaying or domineering attitude, just a superb foil...it's seamless!...Now I'm hardly going to finish up this review without taking an opportunity to gush over Pat's vocal skill(z)! haha....I sometimes wonder how aware the general Looper public is of having a talent like Patricia around...amid all the flotsam and jetsam in the world, some tide of fortune has seemingly deposited her here(or until she's famous)....Fantastic music and totally the genuine article! cheers Dave
It's such a lovely analogy "a lot of music has passed under your musical bridge". I think it's a very kind way of saying something else!! He he! It has, and continues to be, an interesting and enjoyable voyage.
I agree completely with your comments regarding Patricia. Such an immense talent and a real privilege collaborating with her. We are all so very lucky. Glad you liked the track and thank you for the comments particularly the "no overplaying" observation. I always try to work on the "less is more" principle.
Hello Richie ....
You have here made ??the choice that wonderful voice of Patricia, and you have able surrounded it, by a cocoon of great musical quality. Yes! this choice is pertinant, and he was made to meet your gift of blues musician here .... Respect for what job, and share this pleasant moment ....
I always have a special place in my soul for your comments. Thank you so much for stopping by and listening - I appreciate it. Yes, Patricia is a wonderful talent to work with and I am so pleased with the finished track and with your very kind words. Much appreciated.
Richie, I've been listening to the blues for a long, long time and I have to tell you, this is just about as good as it gets. Patricia is amazing, but even more impressive...is that your instrumentation matches her brilliance.
This is fabulous.
Not many words to describe how good this is, so I'll just stand up and applaud.
Always good to hear from you. Thank you so much for the comments and I take it as a great compliment that you compare my instrumentation with Patricia's vocals so positively. I am humbled. Thank you.
I had a lot of trouble trying to get the tempo and the vocal organised on this track and after exchanging emails with Patricia (who suggested I might have some timing issues with it) I decided to chop up the phrases and assemble them around a twelve bar blues framework. I am pleased with the way it's turned out.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks again for the kind words.
I've uploaded 2 blues vocals and NEITHER was given a TRUE blues feel. Idunno about anyone else, but this is absolutely what I have in mind when I think blues.
Yeeeeaaaaa playboy make it do what it do... you know you funky right? Wow man I love this track, going in collection of all time favorite blues hits. big fan keep em coming.

Description : Of all the classic Monster tales the Wolfman is definitely one of the saddest. Cursed, and destined to live as both man and monster. During the day he sits alone with his guitar, a prisoner of lonely existence, crying his heart out through his music. Then at night, the beast emerges, and in the dark under a full moon, he cry's as he rips the hearts out of his victims! Such is the life of a cursed bluesman!
Description : This is a tune dedicated to my friend, Nancy, who followed me to the clubs I played at for years, and is still following me with my studio work. Why do I dedicate this to her? Onnacounta cause she's soooooo naughty! She never liked violins, but loved her sax! Here's to you, Nancy. Anyway, this is a little blues track with some nice guitar and sex...oh, sorry, I mean sax.
Description : A sultry, seductive, and fairly short acoustic blues number. It is an instrumental and only took about 2 hours to write, record, and get a decent mix. Enjoy! Updated: I added some slight echo to the electric guitar and widened the stereo fields of the acoustic rhythm and leads.
Description : guitar on right run thru my friends mesa rec 25. It has an absolutely gorgeous tone. The guitar playing D, C #, B is run thru guitar rig 6. The the pushed back guitar on the left is also run thru the mesa. My UNC chapel-hill decision letter is coming out tomorrow and I'm super stressed. Whipped out my guitar and recorded some stuff. Hope you like it.
Description : Miguel Flores, vocals. Jean-Maurice Humbert-Droz, lead guitars. Laurent Schwaar, guitars. Roland Sumi, bass. Richard Pizzorno, Hammond. Laurent Wirz Drums. Loop from josephfunk (rhodes). Composed by Miguel Flores.
Description : Fresh out of the studio after 10 weeks of deliberating, planning, writing and performing.
This could be classed as Country Blues or Southern Rock...either way I think it may get your toes tapping. So grab your partner and jump on the dance floor with this one.
I am performing the following instruments...vocals, electric guitars, slide acoustic, bass, harmonica, organ. I wrote the following instrument parts in MIDI....drums, percussion, piano, horns. This was a beast to master but I think it turned out okay.
No loops used.
Description : UPDATE 26/01/2014: Improved loads of things in what is probably my greatest chillout alternative blues piece. Ambient, ethereal, groove-based delta slide blues. Contemplative and melodic. Multiple, layered , sometimes shimmering resonator guitar parts with solid, warm synth bass, an ethereal bed of pads (which are actually guitars) and second electronic drumkit to contrast the acoustic kits. I thought this was perfect a few years ago but it wasn't (and still isn't). Now has clearer drums and lots of small awkward bits of guitar have been trimmed. Quite a minimalistic and short piece for me - I don't just keep bringing in new instruments, as I usually do. This should really chill you out...
Nameste,
L
