Description : Remastered 1-31-20

Tracked down the master and remixed it with what I have learned so far and took out the JamStix 3 and replaced it with Addictive Drums.

Edit 7-14-12 Took the kind advice and reigned in the guitar levels a bit.

Edit:7-8-12 Remixed the whole thing.
Drums:JS3
Guitars:myself
Bass:myself

I guess this is kind of my Pink Floyd vibe on a more mellow track.

I really like the effects on the guitars. It does have a feel of 70's rock music like Pink Floyd and other bands as well. I would like to hear Paul Rogers voice over this, the change at about 50 secs reminds me a bit of Rock Steady by Bad Company, I mean that as a compliment. I hear a bit of Foreigner in there, these are bands I loved back in the day so this one I can certainly relate to and appreciate.

Mix sounds cool, rhythm down the middle, gits panned wide. I listen to so many bands as to how they mix their gits, it's so varied but I like the guitars separated wide. I'm finding it's the width of the tracks that also comes in play, especially the bass git.

Well done!

Thank you kindly. I was most happy with my bass work on this track. I have played guitar since the 80's. Bass is new to me.
Thanks again for the listen and feedback.

Very good track MrTopVega!
Liked a lot the guitar here: killer sound for the lead guitar.
Drums are good as well.
I find the end a bit "incomplete".
Overall: Great Song!

Excellent! Where were you hiding this one? :D If you want another drum kit to play with, this one's free and pretty good. I've been using it lately, little simpler than addictive drums. I do like Add. Drums though :D https://www.looperman.com/free-music-software/detail/manda-audio-mt-power-drum-kit-2 So what;'s through the clearing? safety from.... 3:D

Hi I don't really listen to elements of Rock, but from a music prospective. I do have to agree with Blaqh and Vicky the guitar does sound too forward, but I am liking the overall mix of it maybe adding some vocals to your mix as you suggested would be even better! keep it up :)

Thanks BM I appreciate you taking the time to listen and offer some advice on how to make the mix better. I am a guitarist at heart so I tend to push the guitar levels too hot in the mix from my bias. :) I lowered them a bit so they don't stand out so much in the mix.
thanks again

Hello ....

Yes! very good vibrations "Pink Floyd" here .... but for the mix would require a little more discernment (my humble opinion of course) ....
For example, the rhythm guitar is too forward, and drowning out the other elements of this composition.
This takes nothing from your great talent anyway, and the general idea is very good .... and I encourage you to persevere.
Do you have separate tracks?

Dan

Thanks for the constructive feedback, I appreciate it. I brought the rhythm guitar down in the mix. I usually listen to my rendered songs a cpl different ways before I post them but didn't with this one..instead I just trusted the headphone mix. Thanks again. Will continue fine tuning this one and maybe even add some vocals.

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.

Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
