Description : Here's a new track I finished yesterday. It has become a high energy lounge kinda thing. I used acapellas from Elina Milan as well as Patricia Edwards. Furthermore, Short Bus Music provided me with a very nice guitar sample.
Please let me know your thoughts about the track. I am always trying to improve myself, and your feedback is is essential for that :-).
I hope you'll enjoy.
Regards,
Doc

Mate very good example of chill out music, love the way you have used the vocals in this mix, first track reviewed today so far, and what a great way to start off doing reviews, can not fault in anyway mate, totally loving the laid back vibe from the piece, fav'd...Peace n much Respect...Mosaic...
This one is chilled to perfection. I really enjoyed this musical journey. Like you said, the Rhodes has the ability to really establish a mood. You took full advantage of that, and your use of the right percussion at the right time shows a great command of this genre.
I loved everything about this one (that synth work is special stuff), outstanding mix as well. You treated the vox with a great deal of respect in the mix. The break was a nice use of the guitar loop :) The whole piece flowed like a gentle river.......
Absolutely a must listen and thanks for the download!!! I will enjoy it over and over again. Hope all is well.
Usually my beer is the only thing in this house which is chilled to perfection! Meaning, I am not easilly satisfied by the result of a few weeks' work. Maybe you know what I'm talking about, listening to your tracks and finding little mistakes over and over again... Your comment (and for that, all of these comments) help me put my own music in the right context. Thanks for that1
That synth (I assume you mean the lead) is in fact a simple synth voice, with some extra EQ on 1-2 kHz on two different equalizers, a slight side chain compression and a rather heavy phaser, slightly mixed. On the second part (from 2:09) I obviously added a distorion. At 3:40 I doubled the lead at another frequecy which gave it the distinct sound in that part. I'm quite happy with the result.
The break, in my opinion, is the most important part in any track, since it gets you focussed again. I am very happy with the guitar of course and how it fitted in the overall sound. Many thanks again (also for the recommendation :-)).
Thanks again for commenting. Glad you were able to chill on it :-). Purpose reached!
I have started making music again about 12 months ago and had to learn about working with Cubase and soft synths. Now that I understand these a bit, I have started to focus on mixing a bit more. And it's starting to pay off now. That horrible, boring and mindwrecking theoretical reading en practising in stead of just making music ;-).
Thanks for your feedback. Just listened to some of your tracks and by that, your comment means a lot to me. Love your music (and will comment on some tracks later).
I like you describe it as an adventure, because that's exactly what I experienced when working on and listening to the track too. Isn't making music just the best? :-)
Nice and chill. just like I like it. that guitar shortbus let you use is pretty well utilized too! great work on this, can definitely relax listening to it. peace be with you!
Yeah, that happens when you're over 39, chill music becomes more interesting (at least to me) :-). I started experimenting with Rhodes about two months ago and I learned that it gives a great atmosphere to work with on lounge/chill kinda tracks.
I believe a listened to all of Barry's loops, I love them. His loops contain the actual instruments he desibes. Unfortunately I found a lot of loops that describe "brass" for example, but are just sounds from a VSTi. For my taste, the actuals instruments work a lot better.
Thanks for taking the effort of listening and commenting on my track!
Description : Sounds of the sea and trippy acidy washes with a cool beat and some live acoustic guitar. Written in Cubase with live guitar and keys etc. The sound of the sea and birds was recorded on the beach where I used to live. After moving to the city one sunny day I was telling stories to a friend about living by the sea and started making this track.
Description : This improv recorded a few years ago powered my interest even further than I expected.....recorded using tc electronics pedal and tascam studio recorder and a Fender Squier tele electric....
Description : I used some new "Anthem" pickups from L.R. Baggs on my Martin acoustic to see how it performed, and it definitely beat my expectations. Captured the sound perfectly as I needed.
Anyhoo, this song is almost a prayer, hence the repetitiveness of the verses. As Christians, we believe that God will one day return and take away every suffering and all evil for good; in that regard, this song is almost one of waiting too. Very simple, with vocal harmonies and whatnot. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Made in 13 hours.
Someone else wrote the words, I was just inspired to use them. I only added the "Yeah" and "Amen."
Description : This is a track off of one of my EP's I dropped last year. It is based on True events. Sometimes when people finally take a second in life to slow down and breathe in..... The oxygen is deflated and it's too late. Take your time people, because time is what differs a good decision over a bad one. Life is precious!

Description : So a guy buys a nice guitar at a pawn shop but returns it a few days later after waking from a sound sleep to hear it playing by itself. When he tells of his experience he is shocked to learn the owner had actually died while playing it. Is it fantasy or truth? Is the guitar in this track that very same guitar? Its all part of the mystery and fun of Halloween !
EDIT: modified ending to a deeper voice
Description : This track describes a magical state that I experienced a long time ago. Maybe you also know the feeling that you can't describe something like this with words ... luckily we have the music for it!
Description : So this is my first Chill Outish track. I was just trying something new and then suddenly this was a thing. Everything you hear is home made. I hope you enjoy. - Mr. Spook'd
Description : That's something i worked out lately

Description : A progressive journey incorporating deep ambient chillout, swing jazz, hip hop, d'n'b, trance and a slight touch of acid with a thousand ninjas battling in space. Features a great deal of my lead slide resonator guitar playing. Also a whole load of synths, programmed acoustic drum kits and manipulated drum loops, big basslines, regular electric guitar, vocoded guitar parts and bass guitar (distorted right at the end). If you like deep chill, far out soaring beauty, fat beats and 170 BPM uplifting slide trance controlled mayhem, you might just get into this. In my heaven there is an endless supply of honey mangoes (an exquisite beauty of the fruit world) and even more slide guitar. A 1,000-year-long version of this track plays there on a loop (long enough not to get bored of it) but here I offer you the Earthly 11 min version. You must be very good to be accepted into my heaven to hear the full thousand year version so best start now. It may be heaven's main theme tune but it's not above criticism so feel free to let me know what you think of it. Maybe you prefer the soundtrack in hell. I hear it's pretty badass...
