I like the synths a lot. :) The drums aren't anchored though, like harderthan said. But I think setting up treatments for kick and snare would seal it. Hip Hop usually uses up tons of headroom on the kick and snares. With pulse wave synths you might have to set up sidchain and ducking to make the mix bounce bc that type of synth also eats up headroom. In short, tricky sounds to mix and master without tons of automation. All of your tracks that I listened to have something good going on, this one too. Nice work.

Haha well this was back in the day when I had no idea how automation, sidechaining, mastering and so on worked
Probably would have done this track in a totally different way if I had to redo it ;p
But I am glad people enjoyed it, thanks for leaving a comment slimm ;)
Hi Johnny....what impresses me most about this is that for a young guy you are bringing in a lot of non-traditional stuff..most artists seem to be more concerned about emulating the artist(s) they like (and I guess thats where we all start).the instrumentation is quite different...and to me that always suggests that the musical imagination & creativity is working....good for you...keep making it your own and not a copy of somebody else...Ed
Hey Ed,
I really appreciate your comment.
It is true that most people reproduce what they hear and that is no problem since the audience enjoys listening to music that sounds like the general music. However after a while all the music will then sound the same and that would leave the audience with the same kind of songs of which they would become bored after a while.
Maybe my music differs from this because I keep changing things till I like it myself enough, but with upcoming colabs you can't escape from making things that sound mainstream (but I like to make that too)
I will try to follow your advice and keep producing my own way and I think it is really cool that my songs impress you. Had no idea they were so non traditional haha
This is pretty cool! I like the marching kind of rhythm of the drums, makes it kind of old school sounding. I like the part around 1:20 very much, it's got good melodic form. Very interesting style of hip hop! Good work!

Description : Something i did when i was about 15, and when i still made beats. This particular track is actually the reason i decided to get into composing at all. I had a good run with the beats and hip-hop scene, but i always had a leaning more towards composing and this, i think, is the catalyst for that revelation. This beat is 9 years old, and gives you a sense of what it was like to be a young, passionate, musically driven teen. Thank you.

Description : I found this old track from 2013. A collab with looperman member Mr1Black.I used RarCharm vocals on the hook.MrBlack sent me his dry vocals and I mixed them in with the track..not the best job on mixing the vocals, or the beat but ,I still like it.
