Description : 4-24-21 Remixed: Was going to put this in the Heavy Metal Genre but I am not sure it is Heavy enough. Kind of a Static X inspiration. Them, Fear Factory and old Korn are some of my Heavier faves. Would love some feedback on this one. I feel like I have a pretty good mix and it flows pretty well. Wish I had vocals.
Drums: Shitty Drum Machine
Guitars and Bass: myself

Oh yeah, this rocks! I would call this rock. 2 shredding guitars is always a good thing, imo. :) This is Friday afternoon, driving home from work music. Def will pump up the blood pressure.
Thanks, Wayne. I appreciate the kind words and the listen and feedback. I, unfortunately, lost the Master to this and a bunch of other tracks in a computer crash. I have been debating about going in and trying to re-record them again.
?It's only rock n roll but I like it like it yes I dooooo!
I'm rubbish with genres. The heavy stuff I listened to as a youngster was Sabbath Groundhogs Hendrix Edgar Broughton Band.
Never got into metal.
This for me is heavy rock and near perfect heavy rock at that.
The drums?
You tried using loops cut chopped mixed layered?
Ha, thanks. Yes, love the Rock and Roll. I love everything from The Doors to Zep to Metallica.
The problem with the drums is I used the shitty drum track to work with and lost the Master in a computer crash before I could switch them out. So this is what I am stuck with.
So would I...lol. I can play drums a bit but don't have the room for my drum set. I have it stored in the attic. Maybe someday i will have the space to set them up and do it right.
I've been a fan of rock and metal since the 70's. (because I wasn't alive before then) And, when I say rock and metal, I mean everything from the Beatles to Cannibal Corpse, and Rush to Ministry.
With that being said, I have to agree with Danke. I don't really hear the Static-x, even in the drums, other than they are programmed like a lot of theirs are. I definitely hear it from more along the lines of where Crucethus is coming from.
This bad boy is straight up Rock! Drums aside,(even then, you could pretty much leave it, if it were on an acoustic set.), if you dropped this bad boy in the mix with Foghat, Mountain, and maybe a little Montrose, it would fit right in, brother.
As far as vocals go, nah. Too many people rely on vocals to make a tune. I think letting the music speak for its self is voice enough. If the music is good, it doesn't need someone warbling over the top of it.
Overall, man, this is a rockin' tune. It's right where it needs to be as far as genres go. Awesome work!
Thanks V. I think I had Wayne Static in my head while I was working on this so I just related it to Static X. Most of the time I hear a vocal style while working on something. Neil Fallon, Josh Homme, lately it has been Jay Buchanan from Rival Sons. Thanks for the kind words and for letting me know not having vocals does mean you don't have a solid track.
Appreciate you taking the time to listen and leave some feedback.
Welcome to America the land where freedom is endangered! I know there's ways to EQ the drums and give them a better sound.I have a large collection of single hits, many just suck haha I need to experiment alot more with drums. This is definitely metal :P Some Judas priest like vocals would sound awesome on this :D
Thanks bro...I agree, more can be done with the drum sound. I need to take the time and go with a multi drum out and eq each piece of the kit. Right now I just output the drums to stereo. Maybe I can make a drum template and save it. This way all I will have to do is go in and tweak it from song to song. Thanks for taking the time to check it out.
Well here is some tasty stuff! Always love hearing the heavier pieces on here. Great flowing lead lines and ear candy throughout. Just enough modulation to do the job but not so much as to distract. I wore a grin for the whole listen. Thank you.
Hey man, thanks for those super kind words. Always nice to get some positive feedback on a track. I feel like this one and When the Queens are probably my 2 best tracks. Would love to get some lyrics/vocals on them. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and for leaving some feedback.
very welldone man ! I'm agree to Steve Crucethus about the genre buT no matter whaT genre includes it I was convinced for Fav mark . I had listened your Rock traX before too , and as I remember U were always very good in rock & heavY ,& meanwhile I like your loops too,buT according to I have listened tallented Static traX and yours too , I can underestand your nice description and anyway it's great what U've done.best wishes.___Behnam
Thanks for the kind words and for taking them time to give a listen a drop a comment. I can hear Wayne Static singing over this so I think that is the main reason I say Static X inspired. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to listen.
Never would have associated this with Nazareth but I think I I know where you are coming from. Love Nazareth by the way. Thanks for taking the time to give it a lsiten and for leaving a comment.
It rocks but it's definitely not heavy metal, as far as I hear it. Metal isn't only about the guitar and the drums would need to be a lot heavier to move it into that genre.
They're good riffs and some of the second (lead) guitar work with those trills is good and psychedelic though the drums let it down as they're using the same fills and patterns too often.
If you want to make a track like this as good as it could/should be, the drumming needs to improve so I hope you get some better software a range of hypersampled kits and start to make good use of the many MIDI files from professional drummers that such software generally comes with (or you can buy the MIDI packs separately). I have great fun all the time working with loads and loads of great professional patterns and mixing them up and layering them and using changes in groove to help me change riffs.
Apart from improved drums (both sounds and playing/patterns) I think this could do with some other change - perhaps something like another sort of instrument coming in (synth?) or the guitar dropping out to leave more space and let the track breathe a bit (allows you also to build it back up again and come back in with a blast).
Or could be good without making those changes I suggested but just having some vocals. Then the lead psychedelic trills could come in when the vocals are having a break and that would count as a change and create some excitement. GOod luck with it...
I originally had it in the Rock section and moved it after CitizenMofo's comment. I will move it back to Rock, thanks.
As for the drums, I wholeheartedly agree. The drums are always the weakest link in my songs by far. I rely too much on samples or drum machines and the loops are static sounding. I have Jam Stix 3 but the drums never sound loud enough or have enough impact with them. I just got Addictive Drums and am practicing with that. Hopefully that will help out the drum sound. I also agree with it being a little busy in spots and unrelenting lead guitar wise. I tend to over do my lead work, I think it's because I wish I could sing and I kinda use the guitar to do the singing. :)
I appreciate the input and you taking the time to listen to it. Always nice to get outside input.
This rocks. Yeah the drum's a bit of a weak link, and (the right) vocals could be nice, but I don't mind that it's an instrumental one bit, so long as it's headbangingly delicious, and this is a crowd mover. Not heavy enough for the heavy metal genre? I disagree on that one, dude. Great work.
Thanks man, I feel you on the leave it as an instrumental thing. As I was mixing it and brightening the sounds a bit I felt like it might be tough for vocals to compete with all that is going on. Everything I do starts as if it will someday have vocals. I have yet to sit down and do a pure instrumental, but this makes me a bit more interested in going in and working on it as an instrumental. Thanks for that thought. After a couple listens I don't know why I didn't think this was Heavy enough...lol. I am going to move it to the Heavy Metal Genre. Thanks for the input and for taking the time to give it a listen.
I'm really sorry but I don't hear nor StaticX neither Fear Factory...but I hear an outstandingly "headbangingly" groovy, bloody brilliant stoner rock song a la KYUSS...John Garcia is laughing proudly somewhere now... :-)
Lol danke...yeah I can hear some KYUSS influence. I think the Staic-X thing I am getting is more due to the drum track. I thanks you for taking the time to listen and leave a comment. I also appreciate all the support.
Great track man. I'm surprised I'm the first person to comment. Great riffs and awesome bass line. Good drum beat but would obviously sound better being played by an actual drummer to give it a better feel. All round great song. Only advise is get a drummer and this song is just calling out for some awesome lyrics over the top and a solo in the middle. Hope this has helped and looking forward to hearing more of your tracks in the future.
Thanks bro, I was starting to think I just totally missed the mark on this one. I think it is probably the best track I have ever done to this point. Seemed like I was the only one though, lol. Thanks for giving it a listen and for the support. Yeah the drums in all my tracks leave a lot to be desired. I have limited skills in the drum department. Trying to get better at working with Jam Stix 3 but couldn't get anything close to this sound drum wise and really wanted that Static-X feel. Maybe someone will get inspired to do some vocals, I am not sure if I can do anything short of a bad impression of Wayne Static. :)
Thanks again for the support, I appreciate it. Nice to know at least one other person out there thinks this track is any good. :) Maybe I need to move it to the Heavy Metal Genre?

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.
Description : when i was a kid you could go down and buy acid drops at the dairy - sour boiled sweets....vox, guitars and keys by me. Bass a LM loop by megapaul.
