Yo again. I'm mildly surprised you're not already a Morcheeba fan but glad you liked the link. How could you not?
They've been around since the mid 90s, coming after groups like Portishead and Massive Attack - who you might call the original trip hop. Morcheeba aren't as good as those two but their first two albums have some cool stuff on them. Bullet Proof is from the second and best one called Big Calm, which is a very varied album.
I seem to remember their next album called Fragments Of Freedom (in 2000) was pretty crap but they had a bit of a return to form with last year's album when their original vocalist, Skye Edwards, rejoined them.
Anyway, that should be enough to get you going with them. Some of your stuff sounds like you could do a good remix of their stuff and/or work with them. It's not as smooth and polished but has a lot in common with them.
I enjoyed listening back to this track. You never told me what the theremin-like lead instrument was...
Hi mate, thanks again for the links to the Morcheeba stuff will look for their second album. The lead I used for this track was from the classical section in Nexus 2 it was called
Dance Piccolo, if there is such a thing!!
Hi mate thanks for review, I really enjoyed the Morcheeba link. I have heard of them but not really heard any tracks if that makes sense!? Im off to amazon to find a Morcheeba cd. I have been quite busy of late and not had time to write or review any new tracks, hoping to put that right over the next few weeks/months! Regards paul.
I don't know how i missed this one as i liked the other mix you did of this.
This one reminds me a little of Morcheeba (remember them?)
Like the back track, the vocals are spot on and fit the piece perfectly.
There is a slight crackle coming from somewhere when the full mix is playing but perhaps that was done on purpose?
Anyway, cracking stuff mate. You really need to use your week off to get back into this as we're still all waiting for your first track of the year.

Hi mate thanks for review, Bonnies voice is amazing, and so versatile, I think she can sit comfortably in any genre she pleases. The crackle is a vinyl crackle from somewhere, I had forgotten till you pointed it out again ha ha.
Just searching out some good trip hop for next saturday's show, and came accross this gem! Bonnie's voice is very well suited to this style, and your beats and mixing are fantastic! Hope you don't mind if I play it on the show. Definitely a fave! Thanks for the DL!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to listen and review. And thank you Bonnie for letting me lose on your amazing pella. You have a great range, which lends itself to many genres. (lucky for us!!) Thanks again.
Nice track man! Vocals go really well with he beat and I like the groove you've got going on! That little scratch vocal sample sounds cool as well, really reminds me of morcheeba!
Description : Vocal; DJ Sample. Drums; The Savage. The rest is me. I mapped the bassline by watching bass tutorials themed on Bootsy Collins, hence the funk vibe. Despite that this is still a Clickbait Cabaret track, so the spooky vibe is still there, hence the trip hop tag. I dig trip hop.
Description : It's an Instrumental/Trip Hop/Dub/funk sort of
Still looking for some vocalists (male/female wathever !) to works with !! i've got plenty of tracks waiting ! If you want to hearing more, contact me.

Description : I robotic nightmare of sound, pleasant at times of hope but asking all questions repeatedly. Is this the end, affirmative. Lofi like, dub dark, trip hop of sorts. It's SORSEfield. A fiction spiritual scientist is it.

Description : It's a rock composition I wrote many years ago on Guitar Pro 5.2
Recorded the guitars and bass there and brought it to ableton live and joined drums and other samples.
It's a 120bpm agressive triphop beat with jazz elements.
Description : Here's another song I remixed. It's a little different for what I normally do and I wasn't sure if I would upload it but I still hope it came out well. Feedback is appreciated.

Here's a killer live jam a bit like Bullet Proof

And here's one of their early hits. Very cool song!

I seem to remember their next album called Fragments Of Freedom (in 2000) was pretty crap but they had a bit of a return to form with last year's album when their original vocalist, Skye Edwards, rejoined them.
It kicks off with this pretty cool track
Morcheeba - Gimme Your Love

Anyway, this is cool and it truly is trip hop.
0:35 when scratching comes in it does remind me a little of Morcheeba.

Love of pad and soundscape movement behind the bass, drums, vocals and record scratch (?) and also what sounds a little like a theremin.
Excellent vocals and perfect for this sort of genre.
2:24 bass makes me think a little of dub. I like hearing it there just with shakers before snare returns.
This is classy stuff and I'm struggling to fault the production or playing.
Did I hear a bit of sax/trumpet eg on 3:14?
Good to hear that scratching return towards the end.
Favourite for me so well done.
