Hi there Kikajon,
Late is ok..ha ha. I have 29 songs up and don't expect everyone to listen to them all . This song I really liked doing as it gave me a chance to do more bluesy type of tune that I also like.
Will check out your page,
Randy
Amazing, I love the varity in the music you post, I love slide guitar, I have tried many times and I am terrible at it, tried all sorts of dvds and books and nothing good. This so amazing, just great, I don't even know what else to write. Great job!!!
Hi again....well it looks like your enjoying my variety of tunes. Slide guitar isn't all that hard actually. Just need to tune to an open tuning and practice sliding from chord to chord, then try single strings.
Before you know it, you'll feel more and more comfortable with sliding.
Since I play pedal steel as well, it was fairly easy for me, as I learned steel first which is a lot harder.
Randall, I just loved the sound on your slide guitar is it a telecaster? I ask you, certainly sounds like one.
Some great playing what amp you using or is it direct into the desk?
I play slide but not as good as this.
I'm gonna listen again cos it was right up my street.
There don't seem to be many guitar players on here which is a pity......nevermind.........loved it.....keep em coming..........Dylanthermos.(Wales)
I appreciate you coming by and listening to one of my few Blues tunes. I believe on this one I used my Strat mostly. Being tuned to an open 'C', makes it sound a lot different.
On a couple of my other Blues tunes, I used my Tele. Sometimes I switch around during a tune just to give a song a different 'color'.
I always go in direct so as not to get amp hum and by using the many software RTAS or VST's I have.
One my very first Blues song which is slow like this one, I am using an acoustic guitar with that has a 3 band graphic built into the LACE pickup. That one is a Mitchel guitar.
I also own a Resonator (Dobro) guitar that I use and you can hear that sound easily as it is quite different sounding than any other guitar. That is in some Blues and country songs I have up too.
Classic, and classy, awesome playing. I too would count my self in as one who would love to see you playing this live. Thick and juicy sound. Loved every second of that.
Hi Jeff,
Hey, I appreciate you checking out some more of my tunes. Voodoo Swamp Blues has been out for quite awhile. I entered it into the John Lennon song contest, but didn't win.
Slide guitar is fun and takes time to learn it.
Anyways, glad you liked it....I'll do another sometime soon.
When I see 3 guitars for a avatar I know something good is going on. Man I like this number specially that slide!! I am pretty new here so just getting around I wil be checking out some of your other tunes also. I just uploaded a three cord progression tune you mihg like !! Nice Job !! Filaofsoul
Guess I was recomending this song to you and you already played it. lol
Anyways, I am glad you liked it. As I mentioned, I entered this in a song contest, so we'll see what happens in March if I get just a notable mention or a win.
Thanks for the nice comments...and I did check out your other tunes.
This is true blues, man. My feet are practically sticking to the dirty bar room floor in some blues bar in the French Quarter after listening to this track. You should be proud of your effort. Excellent!
This is the first I have heard of you and so thanks for reviewing my tune. Actually since there are almost 115,000 members and over 11,000 tracks from day 1, no wonder.
Just impossible to listen to everyones songs and so you pick and choose the genre you like to listen to.
I am glad you liked it. I had fun making it.
I enjoy making music in the 3 genre that I like the most.
Country, Blues and Rock. So most all my tunes will be one of those types.
I will listen to one of your songs and comment on it soon as I am at work now.
loved it! being a blues man myself playing harmonica this is way cool hats off to you sir we should get together and work on something now that i,m back into the mix again!
Hi Johhny,
Yeah....I guess you were away for time...but glad to have you back now. Happy that you liked this slow blues tune.
Took me awhile to make it, but it was worth it. It seems the slower you go in this type of music, the more stuff you can squeeze in. lol
I don't believe that I have listened to any of your music in awhile, so I will have to check out your tracks and see what's new.
At the moment I am working on a country tune...and at the end, thowing in a Cajun part right from the Louisana bayou.
Yes, perhaps we can do something later on in a Blues song...that would be fun. I'll let you know when I start another one.
Thanks for reviewing my song and your nice comments.
Randy
Hi ya Slap,
Thanks a lot for reviewing my Voodoo Swamp song. That one took some work for sure. I appreciate your comments very much.
I admire your work very much as well. Being a music teacher has to be one of the best jobs out there.....seeing people progress from not knowing how to properly hold an instrument, to see them one day in concert.
Your son is already proof of that goal.
Thanks again,
Randy
Well I'll bite the heads of ten chickens and speak in tongues if I listen for too long......gut wrenching slide..way out in the boondocks..mosquito music...any which way you look at it this is real!....tres cool Randy...way slick and dirty...cheers planet :)
Hi Planet,
Hey, you certainly have a way with words! :-)
I am glad you liked the song and it inspires you to think of feeling like your actually in a swamp with the alligators, mosquitos, etc.
I will review some more of your songs and everyone else here, once I get all the replies written to those who left reviews on this song, and the 'Bo Diddley' style tune.
Thanks again for your cool comments,
Randy
Hi Randall,
Really fine slide with a good sound. Your playing skills are great. It has the right atmosphere. This one will have a great score on Looperman. I'm shure. It would be great if we can make a song together with this sound.
Gerard
Hi Gerard,
Thanks for your comments on this song. Been working on it abut 2 months. So far, not many reviews, but this site has had a few problems, so maybe things will pick up.
Songs come in so fast on here, that your song is usually knocked off the first page in a matter of hours, and no one will hear it unless it is marked as a featured track...which all of mine are originally.
Thanks again,
Randy
Hi Abe,
Thanks for the nice review. Sometimes you can get a strong feeling of what your doing and just keep going with it
Drink all you want....just don't drive too. :-)
Randy
What key are you playing it in? I want to download it and get some harmonica practice to it. Great piece. Wish it was longer. Reminds me of the movie "They live" With Rodey Piper.
Hello Blair,
Hey...thanks for listening to this latest blues tune. It was done in 'C' tuning. Only 3 chords, but I think they make Harmonica's in most all the different keys?
That movie 'They live' you mentioned, I found it on the web last week and watched the whole thing while I was away. I remember watching it before a long time ago. I see what you mean about the music in the movie.
Very close and cool sounding. But I didn't copy it.
I try to make most of my songs lately to about the 3 minute mark these days.
Thanks for listening and glad you liked it.
Randy
Thank you Mr.T,
I am glad you liked it. Not many slide players on here, so it is different.
I appreciate your review and will listen to one of your songs and review it in return.

Description : Of all the classic Monster tales the Wolfman is definitely one of the saddest. Cursed, and destined to live as both man and monster. During the day he sits alone with his guitar, a prisoner of lonely existence, crying his heart out through his music. Then at night, the beast emerges, and in the dark under a full moon, he cry's as he rips the hearts out of his victims! Such is the life of a cursed bluesman!
Description : This is a tune dedicated to my friend, Nancy, who followed me to the clubs I played at for years, and is still following me with my studio work. Why do I dedicate this to her? Onnacounta cause she's soooooo naughty! She never liked violins, but loved her sax! Here's to you, Nancy. Anyway, this is a little blues track with some nice guitar and sex...oh, sorry, I mean sax.
Description : A sultry, seductive, and fairly short acoustic blues number. It is an instrumental and only took about 2 hours to write, record, and get a decent mix. Enjoy! Updated: I added some slight echo to the electric guitar and widened the stereo fields of the acoustic rhythm and leads.
Description : guitar on right run thru my friends mesa rec 25. It has an absolutely gorgeous tone. The guitar playing D, C #, B is run thru guitar rig 6. The the pushed back guitar on the left is also run thru the mesa. My UNC chapel-hill decision letter is coming out tomorrow and I'm super stressed. Whipped out my guitar and recorded some stuff. Hope you like it.
Description : Miguel Flores, vocals. Jean-Maurice Humbert-Droz, lead guitars. Laurent Schwaar, guitars. Roland Sumi, bass. Richard Pizzorno, Hammond. Laurent Wirz Drums. Loop from josephfunk (rhodes). Composed by Miguel Flores.
Description : Fresh out of the studio after 10 weeks of deliberating, planning, writing and performing.
This could be classed as Country Blues or Southern Rock...either way I think it may get your toes tapping. So grab your partner and jump on the dance floor with this one.
I am performing the following instruments...vocals, electric guitars, slide acoustic, bass, harmonica, organ. I wrote the following instrument parts in MIDI....drums, percussion, piano, horns. This was a beast to master but I think it turned out okay.
No loops used.
Description : UPDATE 26/01/2014: Improved loads of things in what is probably my greatest chillout alternative blues piece. Ambient, ethereal, groove-based delta slide blues. Contemplative and melodic. Multiple, layered , sometimes shimmering resonator guitar parts with solid, warm synth bass, an ethereal bed of pads (which are actually guitars) and second electronic drumkit to contrast the acoustic kits. I thought this was perfect a few years ago but it wasn't (and still isn't). Now has clearer drums and lots of small awkward bits of guitar have been trimmed. Quite a minimalistic and short piece for me - I don't just keep bringing in new instruments, as I usually do. This should really chill you out...
