Description : This is a 'Bo Diddley' type rhythm tune. The drums are loops. The rest is me.
Took awhile to put this one together. In playing the faster lead parts...I had to practice them at half speed to get the chops down, and recorded them at an octave lower. Then when put back in at regular tempo, they came out fine. (Just a little trick)
Hope you like it,
Randy

Great job...the tone on the Guitars is awesome. I like the groove very Bo Diddley great production. It is very hard to record distorted guitar well and you nailed it. Great song ....great recording!
Glad to have you check out my tunes. I appreciate the review as well and will checkout your songs and give a review back. At the moment, I am about 2 weeks behind because of work. It is 2:45am now even.
The guitar distortion can be achieved via several ways. To get the type of amp sound you want, Line6 company has RTAS or VST software that you can get with hundreds of combinations of ampfliers and speaker cabs and all kinds of effects combined in any order. Cost about $99.
Much better sound than you can get at home with your own amp....plus you don't keep the neighbors awake. :-)
Also, EQ and Compression will do a lot for distortion sounds.
Thanks for reviewing this tune as well. I appreciate your comments. Unfortunately, you only have 1 song loaded up so I can't review any others...so please make more.
dam dog this is sick the riffs by the guitar and the bang of the drums just keeps goin hard like someone just threw a guitar at your face a definate fav for me
Thanks for checking out this tune as well. I am happy that like everything you hear from me thus far.
I appreciate your nice comments.....I'll make more as I have time. I'd review another of your songs, but you only have 2 up and I reviewed both of them already. :)

Hello there mandarosa,
Hey...thanks for stopping by and checking out some of my tunes. With so many members on here, it is really hard to go thru them all.
I appreciate your comments very much and will check out one of your tunes right after I write this and give a review on it.
I've always liked the Bo Diddley type of beat, so I made one similar, but faster and added in various guitar parts that I liked. Thus the big variety of sounds and some effects like phasing.
The intro doesn't sound like it should be with this tune, but I liked it and put it in anyways. Was done with lots of delay and reverb.
So anyways, thanks again for giving me a review.
Randy
Just listening to the new ACDC album, and while I'm happy to see them recording, their stuff is nowhere near as exciting and as fresh as this tract is. Thank you for this.
Art
Hi Art,
I appreciate your kind words, putting me up against ACDC! I haven't listened to any ACDC in a long time myself.
In fact, I haven't boughten any CD's in several years.
Usually if I hear a song I like, I will download it off itunes for .99 cents, that way I don't have to pay big bucks for the whole album.
Music videos are $1.99 is all, no matter the length.
Last couple songs I ordered, were Edgar Winter's 'Frankenstein', and Steve Vai's 'Horsie'
That is where I got part of the idea for my intro. Great videos as you can see them play the song and learn a lot that way too.
I'll review some of your songs here shortly...so thanks again for your review,
Randy
Great rock song. You've got so many styles you can play. I admire the way this song is build. All kinds of parts that fit in together. And the guitarplaying is superb. I will download this one again.
Gerard
Hi again Gerard,
Thanks for reviewing this tune. As you know, it took me nearly 2 months to do this one as well as the Swamp one. I try and be a well rounded musician, but my heart lies with Country, Bluegrass, Rock and Blues.
I haven't done any Bluegrass lately, but am thinking about it as well as another country song.
I haven't played my Banjo in a long time, so I better get it out of the closet. :-))))
I really like hearing how this started and how it has progressed.
Great tones.
I like how this is quite possibly 4 songs in one, but its an awesome medley and testament to Bo Diddly!
I still loooove that pull-off outro.
I am soo stealing that trick too hehe...
Hi Abe,
Thanks for leaving me a review here and you know I appreciate you giving me some ideas and suggestions. I decided to leave out the double bass part as I decided it was a little too muddied.
Hi again Blair,
Glad you got to listen to this rock tune as well. As you already know, I try and do my best and turn out quality, more than quantity.
Thanks for reviewing and listening. I'll get to review your songs as well once I get these reviews done that people left while I was out of town for a few days.

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.
Description : when i was a kid you could go down and buy acid drops at the dairy - sour boiled sweets....vox, guitars and keys by me. Bass a LM loop by megapaul.
