If you have time take a listen and give janis71 some feedback.
You have a great voice.. And Janice had a great voice. You added your own distinct sound to this classic. Maybe it's a simple as imbibing too much southern comfort? I wouldn't know as I have an awful voice. But I do know I enjoy listening to your voice.
ciao

It's a pretty bold move to attempt to fill Ms. Joplin's shoes. She had a passion in her that can't be duplicated. It took me a few times through this one before I could say that I liked it. Make no mistake, it's not due to a lack of talent on your part. You are incredibly talented, and have an absolutely beautiful voice. But, after 40 years of hearing her smokey, dare I say, gritty voice perform this, it requires a little adjustment period to hear anything different. I've always believed that there are two ways to remake someone else's song. You either hit it spot on exactly the same, or you take it and make it entirely your own by tearing it down and using the pieces to rebuild, maintaining only the foundation. You've done a damn fine job at the former, I'd love to see what you could do with it in the latter. That's my opinion, for what it's worth.
Wow Carole!
This track is great! You did a wonderful job here.
And the last 30 seconds really gave me goose bumps: you are such a huge talent!
Ciao, Domenico
long time never heared a new one from My artist friend ,& I had missed her singing style ...so first a friendly huge tighT & then congrats for ability of such true & impressive execution .. if Corina & Ester & Brandy & other don't kill me for this sentence I should say I think betwen my singer friends just U & Bonnie could execute such originality level of music ...& how it's sensible U have deep subjective feeling abouT this music ...Carole who had made this instumental cover version ?was so adorable & exacT !...
how much I loved those days , those musiX , those orchestrations & singers even those old crazy fashion styles more than these new altrnatives ...wished We could overcome in time & stop ticking of the time ...
Carole if someone had been heared your voice while talking normal too like me ,then he was agree with me that it's soooo good that U don't change your voice for singing & it's the reason why your music never sounds fake & is always impressive . take care & the rest + ( a bit mutter ) in mail ..many thnx for sharing deary.____B
Carole - as your biggest fan I have to say that this is technically very good and I liked it a lot. I don't think it had the rawness and vulnerability of Janis1 which is hard to replicate.
The tracks where you use your considerable vocal talent to interpret through the lens of Janis are always surprising and brilliant.
I liked this but I've loved other interpretations more.

OH MY DAYS, I have never heard the original but DAMN this was soooo good. This is another reason why people should listen to all genres, as I said to StaticNomad I need to listen to different stuff as I am missing out on a lot of talent.
Damnit - if i hadnt heard the original so often - i would say this is just remastered!!! Goose bumps all over - just great.
Merci madame!
So proud that u joined the bus :D
Oh my....our lady up and done the blues...Janis Joplin was one of a kind...and so is our janis71....Perhaps you know that blues is my home genre and comfort zone...so you know I love this one...wonderful expression/emotion in those vocals...very nice piano, bass & beats....Its all good Carole....well, I knew it would be before I hit play...but this is waaaay beyond good....outstanding young lady....definite fav of this ol blues guy......Ed
My dear Ed,
The music's not mine, it's an instrumental I found on the tube and yeah, it sounds really good .
Your words really make me shy, Ed, especially as you felt the "intention" I put in it, trying to sing it with my guts and everything Joplin has ever whispered to my soul .
I surely don't deserve your rhapsodic words but be sure they go straight to this little heart of mine .
Merci beaucoup, my dear friend ...
A big hug and kisses,
Take care
This music Carole really brightened the dark ugly view I use to see. Really like the energy of your performance here, connecting well with the instruments and shared a positive message with me. Very good try at it in my honest opinion. I am sure this will get others thinking about some deep stuff..women! Ha, Thanks for sharing I know what to do now. Good to hear from you. Peace.
Hi Davey dear :)
Aw, you don't know how it makes me happy to read that it brightened your day ... ! Thanks a lot for your always deep and sincere words to me which make you a precious person .
Take good care, my friend .
Sending you a big hug and kisses,
FF
I know it's full of defects as compared to Janis' legendary talent and voice, but I did my best to sing it with all my heart and I'm real happy you liked it as it is, Larry .
Merci for your warm comment :)
Hi Maffin :)
Well, I did my best but Janis was the best blues singer ever and though I tweaked it a lot, I'm just an ant looking at the sun, ya know .
Thanks a lot for your appreciated positive words .

!!!!!!A preview of the new True Sister album "Sister Act" is online at hello.mg-musikverlag.de!!!!!!
Description : Of all the classic Monster tales the Wolfman is definitely one of the saddest. Cursed, and destined to live as both man and monster. During the day he sits alone with his guitar, a prisoner of lonely existence, crying his heart out through his music. Then at night, the beast emerges, and in the dark under a full moon, he cry's as he rips the hearts out of his victims! Such is the life of a cursed bluesman!
Description : This is a tune dedicated to my friend, Nancy, who followed me to the clubs I played at for years, and is still following me with my studio work. Why do I dedicate this to her? Onnacounta cause she's soooooo naughty! She never liked violins, but loved her sax! Here's to you, Nancy. Anyway, this is a little blues track with some nice guitar and sex...oh, sorry, I mean sax.
Description : A sultry, seductive, and fairly short acoustic blues number. It is an instrumental and only took about 2 hours to write, record, and get a decent mix. Enjoy! Updated: I added some slight echo to the electric guitar and widened the stereo fields of the acoustic rhythm and leads.
Description : Miguel Flores, vocals. Jean-Maurice Humbert-Droz, lead guitars. Laurent Schwaar, guitars. Roland Sumi, bass. Richard Pizzorno, Hammond. Laurent Wirz Drums. Loop from josephfunk (rhodes). Composed by Miguel Flores.
Description : guitar on right run thru my friends mesa rec 25. It has an absolutely gorgeous tone. The guitar playing D, C #, B is run thru guitar rig 6. The the pushed back guitar on the left is also run thru the mesa. My UNC chapel-hill decision letter is coming out tomorrow and I'm super stressed. Whipped out my guitar and recorded some stuff. Hope you like it.
Description : Fresh out of the studio after 10 weeks of deliberating, planning, writing and performing.
This could be classed as Country Blues or Southern Rock...either way I think it may get your toes tapping. So grab your partner and jump on the dance floor with this one.
I am performing the following instruments...vocals, electric guitars, slide acoustic, bass, harmonica, organ. I wrote the following instrument parts in MIDI....drums, percussion, piano, horns. This was a beast to master but I think it turned out okay.
No loops used.
Description : UPDATE 26/01/2014: Improved loads of things in what is probably my greatest chillout alternative blues piece. Ambient, ethereal, groove-based delta slide blues. Contemplative and melodic. Multiple, layered , sometimes shimmering resonator guitar parts with solid, warm synth bass, an ethereal bed of pads (which are actually guitars) and second electronic drumkit to contrast the acoustic kits. I thought this was perfect a few years ago but it wasn't (and still isn't). Now has clearer drums and lots of small awkward bits of guitar have been trimmed. Quite a minimalistic and short piece for me - I don't just keep bringing in new instruments, as I usually do. This should really chill you out...
