bass, you play bass. i'm hanging out at your place right now and as my memory recalls other tunes i've heard of yours, it is recording (yet again) the sound that makes Dave Planetjazzbass. maybe i wouldn't be able to close my eyes and listen to your muzic and "know" it's yours yet, but i'm getting there.
eshar's voice is so soothing, and that muzic, carefully calculated, made to transform anger to calm from 20 to 0.
Hey Pat...you know when I listen to this old material of mine..I cringe at how little I understood track mastering and production values....Eshar did a fine job of narration, and has a marvellous voice but it's a little fast in places, for my liking these days...we are all on a learning curve though...thank you for your kind review. Dave :)
I love the guitar in this piece it's straight beautiful. I love the poem on this interesting mix. I've never heard this genre do. Good by my ears do ":)
Man what a brilliant piece, excellent guitar, that and the angelic voice of Elaine, is what stand out for me in the great piece. along with the clarity, mate you have so much talent I am in AWE, total respect to you Dave and your great talent, one damn talented Aussie, massive fav this one Dave, thank you for allowing us here on the loop to enjoy this great track....Estefano...PS Dave mate I have another new house piece up, hope you get chance to listen, it is called A Night To Remember, enjoy...Cheers buddy...
Yo PlanetJB ! Love this track. Eshars voice adding to the journey. Is that an electro-acoustic with a fretless base? Sure iks a very "pro" sound and I would like to know how you got it..(reciprocal favour if required..) Mucho Likeo
No wonder you got so many reviews:your track is just amazing.Love your guitar playing, the chords you use and that sound.Put me in a very special mood. Thanks for the trip
French Kid
possiably one of the best acoustic melodys i've ever heard the affects on the guitar really do bring a whole ambience into the tracl and it dosen't really matter what the lyric say it takes u 2 a boffrent place entirly.
Very nice collaboration. Perhaps a little echo or reverb on the vocal to closer match the feel of the music - sounds a little like a voiceover as is. Track ends a little abruptly. All the pieces are there and mostly polished. Nice job.
Hi Planet, I spotted this in the featured tracks box and gave it a whirl. Nice ambience to this, lovely acoustic guitar sound and great poetry - a marriage of two worlds indeed.
great track, i really like it, nice feeling all the same when i heard this, and it really does come together well. eshar always has great stuff to work with too hey,ive used an acapella of hers which i love! i think u have done a great job!

I'm really glad I came across this track, wow, once again I'm blown away by the amount and amazing variety of talent in this community...such a breathtaking, beautiful track, the narration and the music compliment each other so well that they seem to blend together as one get's lost in one's thoughts...
thanks for this wonderful collaboration!
Thanks MrD...I've been working on my mastering lately..but your right. On this occasion I had a few issues to overcome..but no excuses..In future I will do way better..cheers mate :)
Thanks Evrim..good to see you..thanks for the kind review..I don't have any loops with that feel just yet...But I'm bound to make some shortly...cheers planet :)
this is okay the guitar a little loud the vocals are mixxed good not really feeling the words but overall a good production God Bless and Keep up the good work
Hey BJ..thanks for the review..this was my first effort with spoken word ..so there's bound to be a lot of room for improvement...Eshar and I shall be collaborating again and I will definitely be seeking a better balance within the mix next time..cheers planet
this is just wicked... i think the vox gets a little drowned out by the guitar making it hard for me to follow... but it also could be my head because i'm recovering from working sxsw with the flu.
anyway... wicked track and i love eshers voice
I think your right..it's the first time I did a track like this..so it was a learning experience for me..Eshar and I are teaming up again for another one (as soon as I finish the poem!)..she has a marvellous voice I agree..cheers mate :)
There's really no point in me listening and posting to each and every song that you have posted... they're all varying degrees of excellence. This 1999 piece, is as good as, and arguably better than, your more recent compositions... and your most recent is incredible.
Hehe..thanks mate..I'm glad you liked it ..but this track wasn't done in 1999 that's a mistake with something to do with the site it was done in 2008 ..Looperman didn't exist in 1999 haha..plus I was doing stuff that sounded more like the Stones then...lol cheers mate
this was like a warm blanket on a cold night ! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
tasty! I have so missed you guys! very nice, instant karma with a twist of fate and a cold glass of god bless you! this popped up on a featured ! I can't believe I have not hear this before! I have so much catching up to do!..........Johnny
Hey you really are back man...thanks for listening mate..I'll have another one out with Eshar soon...when you get up and running again we'll have to put our heads together....fantastic to have you back Johnny!..cheers Dave :)
this just goes along with my newyears resolution, "be more like planetjazzbass"! great chords! i always know i can hear the great wall of planet verb! but never know what planet i'm going to! elaine's words are soothing like the music!
your humble servant,
neil

I'm speechless. Wasnt prepared for this track when I clicked on it. But why didnt I know bout u before? Man I definitely will download this. True art in the form of notes.
This Track is so beautiful in so many different ways!
The guitar is just save from every discussion! Its one of the emotionally lines Ive ever heared!
The spoken words are so epic! Eshar deserves a lot Respect!
Shes one of the true souls on this site!
Mr. Planet I didnt review any of ur stuff before!
Sorry its my fault! Ive missed a lot of great art! Your one real good musician!
Dont know how a are u thinkin of Remixes but that guitar line has banned me! I would like to ask u if u will allow me to remix this Guitar-line to a smooth HipHop/RnB Track!?!
For me its always nice to see what others done with my matertial!
A whole other point of view if u know what I mean!
Greetz and thankx for sharin this with us!
Take care
Hey Ciko..thank you for a great review, yes Eshar is magic on this..I've never had any of my material remixed before it would be very interesting to see what you come up with..send me your contact details (privately) and I'll send you the guitar section...cheers planet :)
The guitar is fantastic and the reverb really compliments the softness of Elaines voice. Well done to the both of you, this is a fantastic track, and it was uploaded 9 years ago.....Crazy.
Thats a real good track, the guitar is excellent, the track has a sort of magical, mysterious, vibe to it.
Eshars voice - Somehow it made me think of like medival story tellers her voice has a great sound to it.
All in all a real good track.
Regards
Krook
too good. Your acoustic playing is amazing and this track has a magical feel to it...the effect stuff you used on the guitar really fits so perfect with Eshar's amazing voice, very cool PJB, very nice work, and again amazing guitar work. =)
I know you've already had a lot of reviews on this one but I wanted to return the favor. You don't get to hear music like this to often. Great mix. It's nice to hear something different. A story with tunes. Great job!
love the strings, love the voice, very reflective piece here. feel like i was sitting around a fire with eshar as she read aloud. this one reminds me of moments i've shared in the midst of myself and the darkened outdoors. the smell, the sounds, the energy. fav'd, and downloaded, amazing, on both accounts.
Cool..thanks Clay...I like the idea of spoken word..it gives a totally different spin on things..contemplative and able to harness large visual concepts...cheers planet :)
I heard about this collab about two weeks ago.
VERY POWERFUL. Sorry I didn't catch it sooner.
What kind of poetry do they consider that.
It's like... Abstract, and an older english form...
tho, I think this can be completely judged by it's own standards.
Elaine should have done a steven perry rock and roll scream at the end... (teehee, soo messing with you sir)
I did enjoy the poetry, but I do think Elaine was a bit subdued.
I had to strain to hear what she was saying.
But... ON the other hand, it made your incredible guitar playing stand out.
JUST
incredible
Latin, yet Medieval.
Nylon butter, but modern effects.
Great visual imagery and lyrical content.
I think I shall fall asleep to this song tonight.
Yes I agree about the levels..there is a reason as I had to compensate for some background rumble on the voice track..any lower with the music and it became apparent..However I hear exactly what your saying..the music should be a lot more subdued and underpin the poem...giving it more visual appeal..the next one will be better...cheers mate..planet :)
Thank you Holly....there's something about poetry that enables you to....I'm not quite sure but I think it has something to do with connecting things within the whole time frame of your life......cheers planet :)
very emotional, brilliant!!!
Elaine: it's great to hear your voice for the first time ...
Dave: love those chords ...
a very good composition and perfect arrangement!!
it's very hard to underlay spoken words with music, this track is an example how to do it ...
dl+fav (what a surprise ...)
Thank you Rei...that means a lot to me.I just love playing suspended chords they have that dreamy quality and seemed to fit the mood of the piece...Elaine did a great job I couldn't have got the right ambience without her....cheers....Dave :)
Cool piece guys...very well spoken Elaine...haven't heard such a voice in a while (you can tell I'm from South London lol)...Dave....words and sounds man, words and sounds....all beauty...very well written and very well produced...definitely an artist's spawn....
Thank you Ash...speaking of regional accents..I don't think there's any other place in the world that has the diversification of accents as in a twentyfive mile radius around London....I would love to do a study on this,it's quite unique....thank you again for listening...cheers planet :)
Cool mate....I dig those nylon strings (a lot easier on the fingernails)...I think I might be about to embark on a quasi Celtic phase in my playing...must be a roots type of thing..we'll see...cheers mate :)
Very nice. The voice reminds me of the talk the young gal was giving at the end of the 'Mad Max' movie when everyone was sitting around talking about a new world.
I liked the guitar as it was clean sounding and was played very well, and the reverb made it sound nice.
The voice could be brought out front more as someone suggested, but I could understand most of it even with the accent.
Thanks for uploading and sharing.
Randy
Hey Randal...post apocalyptic voice overs..hehe...I love the sound when there's only a few instrumental voices happening...it gives things a lot of exposure....my future pieces like this will have more attention given to the spacing of the elements and their position within the track...glad you liked it mate cheers...:)

Description : Again, another early production from like two years ago. I had a cheap little Yamaha acoustic guitar that I borrowed and mic'd and some congas that were given to me as a birthday present. I used my iPad GarageBand app to record the strings and the big bass drum thingy at the interlude and little electric guitar parts in there too haha. All the vocals were done by myself and my brother throws in some little things here and there with his voice :P Enjoy!
Description : A rhythm guitar track I made and sent to my cousin on the East Coast. Made with Tape-A-Talk app. from the Google Play Store. Download and collaborate with it.

I hope someone grabs this and puts some vocals to it.
The software I used is Reaper, Addictive Drums and Gearbox.
Hardware is a Jackson RR3 plugged into a Line 6 Pod X3..
