Description : Yes, that time has arrived that all my slots are used up so i now have to delete if i wish to upload.
This track is another minimix purposely designed to fill as much space as possible.
Starts out as a house track and then gets tougher as it goes along.
What more could you possibly want?
(I've just updated it as a few bits were just wrong when i played them back on the stereo. Damn headphones again. I'll never learn.)

Groovy pumpin mix you've done here! That "you call that fckin nasty" sample I've totally heard that somewhere before... cna't put my finger on it though... something I've listened to a lot. Very uplifting progression throughout, I dig it! Nice quality sound, and the stereo field is pretty cool too! Was a good ten minutes, and now I'm ready to do some cleaning. Fave!

NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL REAL DANCE MUSIC! Damn dude you got this one down pack. The drums, filters, and effects just fits so well. Love the vocal sample you used as well! This is one for the clubs. Also love how you switch the beat up mid way, takes me on a long ride to a place I don't want to leave.

Great way to end my weekday off! Please make more tracks like this one, it's a keeper!

Thanks man, I'm cooking up another one that i'm going to try and get aired on loop radio. So far it's half an hour long but i want to try and double that and make it like a propper set. It's pretty hard to do and time consuming on a daw but i'll just keep on keeping on until it's done.
Thanks for dropping by and listening to this track/tracks

Wow - really liked this! Didn't expect to when I saw it was over nine minutes which challenges my attention span but it holds together well. Love the precision and restraint - every bit comes through clearly and with purpose. Love the vocals and counterpoints between :55 and 2:55 and loved the transition after that. Professional quality throughout.

Yeah, i did wonder if i'd made it a bit long for people to listen to all the way through. Seems like some do though and that makes me a happy bunny.

cheers. i'm not sure exactly where it came from. I've got so many loop packs i hardly seem to come across the same loop twice. I think the bassline was a freebie from loopmasters when i joined the site but don't quote me on that.
Glad you could drop by and listen to the mix.

That vocals sample that says "I'll give you pleasure" is it from the basic FL studio stuff?
I found one sounding almost exactly similar hahaha

must say it sounds pretty damn cool, I like the transitions to the new parts and it makes it interesting to listen to it. It's a nice minimix of songs, thanks for sharing it with us FreeRadical ;)
FreeRadical
FreeRadical replied 8th May 2014 - 10 years ago
Yeah there is a free sample that says that but i got it from the image line vocal samples pack. Been spending lots of dollar on pro stuff just lateley in the hope i can make better tunes. Just splashed out again on Magix music maker because i like the stuff that BrillBilly does (and it comes with a USB keyboard which is great because i'm bored with having to draw everything in)
Anyway i'm waffling so i'll just finish by saying thanks for checking out my mini mix and leaving your thoughts.

The big 5-0! well done mate, is this the way forward now? Mini mix?? Sounding good mate anyway. The first part was very old school and the second very new house, and then... Tourettes techno!! ha ha (think you just invented a new genre mate congrats!!) finishing with a bit of prog house! Nice one mate well done!
FreeRadical
FreeRadical replied 8th May 2014 - 10 years ago
Tourettes techno! Ha ha. I bought a sample pack called urban dance vocals from prime loops and one of the folders is just full of that cockney geezer swearing, so i thought i'd put it to some use.
You know what, I think the mix is the way forward because you don't have to do so many breakdowns and i don't like doing them all that much.
Anyway, glad you could drop by and listen to this mash up of loops and things.

Catchy title FR :) You do have this way of weaving seamless transitions throughout your music. Mad skills. Maybe you should look into being a DJ. Hell, Paris Hilton is doing DJ work here in the US, and I know you could do way better than she does, haha. And they say being born into money doesn't have its advantages. Awesome work brother. Hope all is well.

Thanks, yeah this one turned out ok because i've finally resigned myself to the fact that posting tunes mixed on headphones damages your street cred (what there is of it)
I have since returned to using the sound system and the mix quality is just so much better. The trouble is that nobody ever tells you that your mixdown is crap, so you don't know until you listen to it on the sound system.
Anyway, thanks for dropping by and listening to my epic track.

you are one prolific guy FR....I think I`ve deleted about 30 or so tracks since I joined the Loop...I just keep a few up to keep my nose in on things...about the mix...yeah...its got that club mix vibe...strikes me as a bit smoother that many I have listened to, so that also helps make it a good listen for guys like me that just sit back with the ears perked & let others do the body shaking....some fat vintage sounding synts stuff going on here & it starts pumping good through the last section....It must be dam good...I listened all the way through & that doesn`t happen with 10 minute tracks often...Keep on mate......Ed

Nice track man, has a cool kinda garage beat in the intro that I like! The synth that comes in at 2:30 is really cool also. I like how the energy picks up after the first transition and the synth work is very good. Love it!
FreeRadical
FreeRadical replied 6th May 2014 - 10 years ago
Thanks man, A lot of that synth work is just loops from pro packs. I just fill in the gaps with one shots, stabs and the occasional synth. I figure that there's people out there who know how to do really clever stuff that i can't do so i buy their loops and just rinse the f**k out of them. I just enjoy making these lil mixes. I'd like to make them longer but you have to sacrifice quality and i hate that.
Thanks for dropping in and checking out my track(s)

Cool track, FR. I use to listen to more electronic styles when they first emerged. I remember my love for Kraftwerk's Autobahn! Anyway, fine work!

About your slots, I know what you mean. I ran out of slots, so my collaborator and I started a new page and I started another page for my covers. You may want to start another page, too.

Cheers,

Yeah, Kraftwerk were some of the first to kick it all off. Personally i think the music has come on in leaps and bounds since then. I remember getting my first acid house cassette back in the late 80's and i've loved dance music ever since. I don't think i'll ever grow out of it because there's just so much you can do with the genre.
Thanks for dropping in and leaving advice, but i have plenty of tunes that i don't think are that great that i can take down anyway.
regards,
FR

Thanks man. I did it on FL studio using some purchased loops, One shots and a synthesizer called poizone.
It was fun to make but a lot slower than using vinyl records. Took me about six hours to make just under ten minutes of music so that aint too bad really.
Thanks for dropping in and listening to this track.

Have you ever been a dj or done any dj'ing? Just wondering because of the mixing different beats you do. The transitions are well done and each part sounds a bit different from one another but there seems to be an underlying feel to it all. Were you able to get those synths running on your comp?

I find if you delete a handful at a time it's easier rather than 1 at a time. Either that or upload 500 loops this week and get some bonus tracks. hehe

Well done!

Wayne

Never been a DJ. Used to hang around with a lot of them in my 20's but i was always much more interested in creating the tracks.
I guess i should take it up really as all i seem to do these days is muck about with loops.
I did get those synths running in the end and they're really bloody good (But i only used one right at the end of this track, the rest was all loops and one shots)
Yeah, i should upload some loops really. I did plenty as Nick Q but FreeRadical has so far contributed a grand total of zero.
I might even make some right now.
Cheers for dropping in.

Ha ha, Yeah track 60 would be nice but i doubt Shan will extend my playlist as i deleted my old profile and never re-upped any loops.
I think i might try making a few of those just to contribute my two pence worth.
You never know he might even allow me some extra slots.

Description : A psychedelic techno cello epic. It's not really techno as it's only 110 BPM but something like that (eg breakbeat), with lots of banging beats and arpeggiated acid synths, plus a whole load of my layered cello playing techniques. There aren't that many synths used but they do a lot of work and are carefully automated. No guitar. Drums are mostly a lot of drum loops, supported by a few programmed acoustic drumkits. Very busy and complicated with loads of different sections (funky, chilled, fast, heavy) that make up a constantly progressing trip. I don't know if there's any other cello music like this so let me know if you think there is. Interesting feedback appreciated - criticism, praise, ideas etc. Enjoy...
