Could this be called Breakbeat? Should I develope the bass line and/or add some more drums? I Think I like this song, it's really weird. =)

hi again, yes this sounds quite different this morning...haha.
I am just curious what would happen if you only remove some phased effect... I do not know if it is just some effect added to the drums or it is actually a phased pad... The lack of energy is because the drums sounds too far. But anyway Im enjoying the work you did - really cool piano added at the end!
Nice Sunday to you,
A
Hi again - you are my hero right now listening to all these crappy versions of the same songs! Thanks so much for taking your time to do that. It's really helpful.
I've been listening to breakbeat based music just now to refresh my memory of how it really sounds and I Think you are on to something - the drum line should be more prominent and kind of dry and there should also be more bass specificly tied to the rhythm.
I'm not sure this song is suited to sound like that because of the heavy reverb and all the automation in the drum line wich creates those phased sounds (I also used this flanger-effect on the drums and that's probably what you are referring too). But I'll give it a try!
I Think I'll try to give the vocal a rework too, it's so very lame like this.
hi, very nice work so far. Maybe it's just me but drums have some very long (too long!)reverb. I think the song will sound better and more energetic without all the processing you've used on them... Somehow the bassline is not clear as well... and all that affect the entire mix. More wavy-chillout than breakbeat (for me:)) so far. So I just suggest you maybe to find some better sound again... if you will be reworking it eventually...
But I like it and this is some really good production overall.

Hi!
Sorry you had to listen to the first version - it was quite terrible!!
It's a litte better this way I hope - the reverb on the drums is still there but I took away an EQ from the master channel and rearranged and added some percussion and other stuff.
It's not there yet though, still too muddy. I also agree about the lacking energy part - have to find out how to fix that.
Thanks for listening!
I like this one SJ....Yes I think you should develop the drums ...the bass is good.....strange as it may seem I often find that layering in a hip- hop or R&B drum loop or 2 in some parts with the main percussion works..nice airy pads..keep it going...sounds good...Ed
Hi Ed!
I just remixed this and added some things, drums and also some FL "piano". I had an EQ on the master channel which ruined the sound in the first version so I took it away but it's still not punchy and clear enough so have to look in to that later.
Layering (different) drums almost always makes things better! Or, well, often anyway.
Thanks for stopping by and take care!!
Cheers/ SJ =)
Description : I HOPE YOU ARE NOT TO LAZY TO READ THIS xD
All started with a Future Bass Drum with Reverb at 140 BPM. It sound like Dubstep and then all go fast. A very Deep Synth Flute with Reverb as Bass. Hig Synth for the Melody. High Flute with Reverb for other. And High Wobbling Synth with stereo Phaser. Many Crazy Snares and lite Stick Hits as Percussion with Reverb. End a Pad with the same Stereo Phaser effect. Yeah thats it. I work 4 Hours at this Track. Sounds Like Future Bass or Dubstep with a lite Happy EDM touch. Please leave some Feedback. Which genre is this? Whats good , Whats Bad? You know what I mean :D
Description : here it is a quickly done mix for this demo//mash up electro clash sort of // with breakbeat // crunchy soundz and FX.
Now this track needs collaborationS !
like a punchy vox and some keyboard skills.
I may add some funky guitar at the very end ??
If some space still avaible in the mix...
Description : BRICS, the new economic powerhouse of emerging nations Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. In the struggle for economic dominance will cooperation prevail regarding climate change and other issues of global importance or will it be business as usual?
This track is a heavily sampled break beat melange featuring Russian vocalist Doctyabrev and excerpts of speeches in languages of the other three countries including Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, and Marina Silva of Brazil. There's a whiff of Maceo's "Cross the Tracks" in there too.
Much thanks to all the Looperman contributors including: Doctyabrev, fanto8bc, djnab, blueskies, buffalonugaluss, megapaul, and 7venth12. 100 bpm, key of E.
Description : Update: big intro atmosphere breakbeat with evolving break patterns. I took off one of the synths and it sounds cleaner now. Also continued the track with another bassline /witch now I think it's kinda slow. Or maybe not ?/ I will appreciate every comments & advices.
Description : The classic disco song of the 70's done from a man's perspective, in a mellow semi-accoustic chill version. Original artist, Gloria Gaynor did this song in 116 bpm, I am doing it in 94 bpm. If I'm granted permission to post the acapella on this site, I'd love to hear what you guys can do with it.
I love this kind of spacey music real much.
And i think its a kind of break beat.
You sayed that you still working on it, so would say
- cool workversion
dont take to much reverb away :)
