Description : No loops used in this one and I created almost all the sounds in the FL 3xOscillator so it should be called The Oscillator Song. But I ruined the idea of just using my own stuff with throwing in a beautiful Acapella by Mhyst: https://www.looperman.com/acapellas/detail/6161/close-my-eyes-62bpm-by-mhyst-62bpm-ambient-acapella
Also tried to learn to use the FPC drum machine and some compressors and EQs.

I can only encourage you to explore the sounds - Im a classical musician jumped into a laptop music making about 2012. I put much effort into this so far and now I can make some quite pleasant sounds at some point but still there's many aspects to improve and to exlpore... I'd just suggest you to do so and have fun with it:)

hi again SeriouslyJoking,
I think my approach to music is quite different at least at the moment... I use a lot of EQ and effects only to enhance/get rid of some frequences... But I really like the raw and basic sounds... I am currently working on some acoustic track with voice and piano and am aware that it could be easily 'overproducing'... It's really hard to give some useful advices on your song. It depends on you and how you will progress with all that ... meaning the less of effects added the more realistic and natural sound you get... I hope.

I'm not really sure what I'm going for with this particular song, I'm actually also working on an other song at the moment and trying to learn all sorts of things to make that song sound the best it can and this one popped out from that Project, as I tried to create sweeping pads with the 3xosc (and failed miserably as you can hear - no sweeping sounds at all).
I'm with you there when it comes to preferring raw and natural sounds really but it's not suited in all musical styles I guess.

Looking forward to hearing that new acoustic song of yours!
/ SJ =)

Hey SJ

wow oh wow

Simplicity at its best, stunning track, would not have guess it was Mhyst vocals, guessing you changed pitch/key, whatever you did it sounds brilliant, brilliant clarity of the mix, this sounds like it could be on the radio, extremely impressive track...one of my all time fav of yours so far...Fav...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...

Hi Mosaic!

No didn't change the pitch on Mhysts vocal but I layered it a couple of times - 3 times actually - to get a fuller sound and applied a flanger effect on one of them which is hardly noticeabel but gives a little edge to it (thank you Youtube-tutorial!!! =D) So maybe that's what You are hearing?
Although I messed it up a little by not checking that all the layers were sitting exactly the same way on top of each other so it's sounding a bit uneven at times...oh - I EQ'd the vocal also, just learned how to do that in a better way.

Well anyway - thanks for listening. Really sweet of you to think it could almost be on the radio! Haha. It's the great vocal that does it, so I'll pass that one compliment over to Mhyst.

Take care Mosaic and see you around!

hi, really nice one. at some point it reminds me of a cheap 8bit tune. its because of the simplicity of the synth you use.
but still great: pads, pianos, some plucked instrument even, bassline - all sound quite similar... I really like your work.
I think you could also turn the drums louder. Overall really nice piece. Congrats,
Alex

Hello Alex!
Noted and agreed about the drum volume.
About the 8bit chip tune sound - yes I tried to keep it very simple and not add much reverb at all (which i always overdose).
Also tried to follow the drum line with all the synths so had to keep the sounds kind of dry. But I think I compressed some of the sounds too much, the song is sounding VERY flat. Have to get some of the dynamics back if I redo this some day.
Thanks for listening!

Tjena SJ,

Nice to see you around again and it's good to know you're still making some music and furthermore improving your skills on things you mentioned...
This one reminds me incredibly on Bronski Beat style regardless of female vocals....anyways, you did a good job again so take some sincere compliments from

Orlando

Tjenixen Orlando!
I just finished listening to your song and everything is sounding really flat, dead and undynamic in comparison. :D

Had to check out Bronski Beat - I loved those songs! Not sure where the similarity is or if there is one but I take it as a great compliment anyway! Thanks.

Take care! / SJ =)

I like this one, good chord structure following the circle of 5ths (music theory) nice side chaining and overall a pleasant journey. good work

The circle of 5ths? Have to remember that.
Thanks for listening, Steve.
I'm of course hearing a lot of errors after uploading, the vocal doesn't sit very well and I think I compressed away all the dynamics...well it's all just a learning process.

Cheers!

Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.

Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.

Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.

Description : Far out mid-tempo fat beat deep chillout grooves with Eastern/Arabic and slightly menacing vibes, huge delayed synth bass and a great palette of psychedelic layered and intricate sounds (mostly synths) and a stirring, epic feel. Even has guitar solo section reminiscent of some 80s power rock which is then followed by a brief synth harp solo. I began making it straight after staying round the flat of the flute player from the legendary Ozric Tentacles - easily the greatest ever space rock band. I made this in about 2001 and still think it might be my best track (and it's nice and short, for a change). My production skills were much weaker in those days (no EQ, compression or mastering used here) but, somehow, this one turned out pretty much just right. Feel free to disagree. Now sit back and get ready to trip extremely far out. If you manage to return, let me know how that trip was...

Description : Got some spare time finally...just started on some random ideas basically (lets say kygo meets alan walker). A blend of dubstep, edm, downbeat, tropical etc.
It's still a work in progress, so i would appreciate your honest inputs. Thanks to all those whose loops I have used in here, sorry I don't have time to search them out.
Edit-added some more filthy sounds from my previous tracks and gave it some ending. Advice will be helpful.
