If you have time take a listen and give joecramer some feedback.
There are a lot of versions out right now and that you think that my little minimal version ist beautiful, in your eys/ears, that is realy nice to hear.
I spent a lot of time into this comp and it is a good feeling to see that, at least for some people, i done it in a way good.
So thanks a lot for your friendly words and the time you spent.
I've read some of the other comments about this track being an updated version, I don't know what they sounded like, but if they sounded anything like this one your doing an excellent job. Kudos! FT
Nice to her that you think this is in a way exellent.
I am not realy into this mastering thing, so it is realy nice to hear that others think i done it good ......
I post all versions where i believed from that they are in a way cool on looperman. So if you wanna listen where this last version comes from you could do that.
Thought it was really cool how you did the break at 3:12, my favorite edit of that specific piece. The ending that falls after is really good, the mix's overall progress is getting more interesting as it goes. Heard a couple of your takes on this project and agree that this is the most interest so far. No suggestions I have in mind, thanks for sharing, Peace.
Thanks for your gentle comment.
I just tryed to do it so good as it is/was posible for me, at that point.
-Heard a couple of your takes on this project and agree that this is the most interest so far.-
This -so far- sets me a little under pressure :)
Lets see where it all ends.
And let me say that it is real friendly from you, that you spent so much time into listening to all this diffrent versions that are out there in this comp and give almost everyone some comments. Thanks a lot for that!
Hey Joe, I would have to agree with Orlando and say that this is your best effort to date. The approach was different and I think the mix is really nice and crisp. I think the harmonic dissonance that Alex mentions is actually in the stems itself and was intentional. The one electric guitar is playing Da minor progression while the acoustic is playing a Dmajor. It sounds like a wrong note, but was intentional. To eliminate it, you could remove the third note in the Dminor chord, or pitch it up a half step to a major. My suggestion would be to remove the note each time that guitar plays the Dminor. Other than that, this is a stellar job by you. Thanks for the interest and for working so hard on this. I hope all is well.
This is quite a bit of improvement over previous versions, particulary in the stereo field (if my ears don't fool me^^)
and in the end of the day this is more than solid entry and probably among the best ones.
Sounds good to me :D I love the way sounds added to the music really tell the story and add a more atmosphere. That rattle at the beginning made me think it was going to be creepy then the music started and it got happy :D Check out freesound.org for lots of free sound samples :D
Cool that you had this creepy-happy feeling with the sound, cause i tryed to tell a -got lost (in the jungle), find the right way- story with the beginning.
So it looks like it worked a bit.
hi Joe, I am much enjoying your version - its quite original and different from your last one. I can only say that at some point at 2:24 there is some harmonic dissonance between rhythm guitar (or synth, I dont know exactly - the sound introduced from 2:00) and the piano: maybe its just too much reverb provided from the original samples that enhanced during the processing produce some dissonant frequences... It's still too 'cinematic' for me... the low strings in the last section are really hard to recognize (as well as flutes - if there are any!...). But still I think this version is the best for me so far (I know only a few takes for now). I intend also to do mine version, for now I have some song based on the brass and percs. from this competition samples - you may check it if you like.
Really nice work on this one.
Greetings,
Alex
Hey Alex,
nice to hear that you enjoyed the listening.
I tryed to hear the dissonanses you wrote from but i cant get them. That may be because i have realy only cheap stuff on my side (call me mister low tech himself) and or its because i am an old man, with old ears, that listen to long to, too loud and often to bad, music :) i dont know.
I can hear the strings well but that may be because i listen to them so often while mastering. The woodwind, i would say, is the loudest sample in the 3rd part.
I will try to listen abit closer and a few times more, maybe i will get where you talking about.
Thanks for your friendly words, the help and your time.
stay tuned

Description : Ok...here it is! Another colab with maestro Tumbleweed! Ed provided the unfinished, basic track...I composed and recorded the long intro using different synths and then added piano (well to the fore) and some brass arrangements along the rest of the track (no violin this time...hehe) and then did the final mixing to wrap it up as it is presented now. I hope you will enjoy it and we both appreciate your listening time and your valuable comments:) Otherwise all thanks to Ed!

Description : Dark, slow, ambient, cinematic jazz with funereal piano turning into something much funkier, psychedelic and beautiful in the second half. Out of the darkness and into the light, you could say. Instruments: electric guitar + bass, lots of synth sounds, including a horn, double bass, another big legato bass, pizzicato strings, two types of piano, a heavily delayed slide guitar instrument, zither, synth arp, one brushy drum loop, kettle drum rolls and 4 programmed acoustic drum kits. This is quite a special track for me and is only the second I've put in the cinematic genre. The more you listen, the more it changes (it even has key changes) and the last three minutes are really quite far out and should probably be longer. Best track I've made for a few months. Interesting thoughts and reflections appreciated. Free sex for the best reviews...
Description : So a new track for everyone. Im pretty impressed by this one, and would even place it higher than one of my best tracks, Angel And A Demon. However, I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put vocals to it. I have some in mjnd, but idk if itd be better to leave as is and keep it instrumental or not. Take a listen and let me know! Also, let me know if anything is too loud, still working on my mastering.

Really like how it rises, with that piano melody and then that guitar... amazing.
The introduction of the beat is a wow moment.
