I havent been on here in a bit, or at least not in the tracks section but I posted something and figured I'd check out the this section. I am glad I did because I am dl this one. It's beautiful really, it strikes a heart string but at the same time puts me at ease. Thank you for this, its perfect to me :)
Hey Xyilent. Really like this. Very nice stripped back minimal piece. Lots of space and I really like the subtle beat and percussive elements. The piano fits well with them. The effects at the break at 125-ish had me thinking X-files tune! Nice touch. The snare coming in and out of the mix works really well. Nice attention to detail. I'm on my 6th listen now to make sure my comments are relevant and I really think this tune is fine as it is. I'm thinking of going down the ambient / chillout route myself and this is the kind of tune to give me some inspiration. Nice job.
ok. so basically you want me to check out your new loops?
haha I remember using your synth loop once (which was great! - I played it in a different speed though)
Other than all I can say is that there are very few (if any) people here interested to really improve their work. Of course improvement can't happen instantly (it may take years, even decades lol)
All I can see now is countinous uncounscious porcess of bumping up the current productions on this site (I do that a lot as well).

P.S. I can send you these links if you're interested anyway
just listened again to your track. I can see that you have 3 piano tracks here - that one playing low chords is actually generating all that strangeness as there's no real bass line here.
Just wanted to point this out but I do not know how to really fix it (only You can do this). Maybe try working only on that single part alone and find a real bass line for the entire track. Bassline is always a foundation eventhough there's no actual instrument playing it.
There's so many people going for an 'effect' here (including myself) often disregarding the very basics.
I didn't mean really transposing your piano an octave higher (which would be probably very ridiculous-sounding), it's all about the piano chord voicings. If you play some of chord structures (voicings) too low on the piano it will sound very strange and harmonically unclear.
Hope some of this is useful.
Best, A.
P. S. tried to add many YT links but comment was refused
Yeah there isnt really any bass in this one, was pretty much just using the chords for it.
Well in my working version i did bump up the chords but i left a few notes down in the low chords, and it seemed to work, but had them at a lower velocity
If you check my loops the most latest one is the updated piano from the song...
Also about the bassline, yeah i agree think i need to find
one and implement it, because its not really got one haha
thanks again A for the advice,
this is why looperman is awesome for getting feedback on your songs :D
Generally, I do things dark, loud, and aggressive. So, when I hear other people do these chill out tunes, I really enjoy them. It's like taking a break from my own mind. This track provides an excellent backdrop for a temporary escape. To me, it has a very fluid, almost cool aquatic feel to it.
You said that you were thinking it's not finished. I agree with many of the others. There's really no need to do much else. I think the only idea I have, is to add forest noises. You know, Birds chirping, a stream, maybe an occasional buzz from a passing bee. But pan them all out to give them dimension.
I don't know. That may be a lame idea. Like I said, I usually do dark, loud and aggressive.
All in all, I like the track as it is. Excellent work.
The idea about the forest ambiance is cool, might use that actually. Wasn't going to add anything like that but now that i think of it, it could be quite cool... ill look into that.. thanks for the idea man! :D
"all in all, I like the track as it is"
yay :) lol im happy people seem to like this version.. it does have a few little quirks but ive fixed them in my working version (ill update soon)
Really like this one X...I really wouldn`t suggest you do much if anything to it...the minimal approach really works...everything sounds nice and clear...its the kind of easy listening stuff that just leaves you with a smile (I`ve been cluttering the hell out of my mixes lately...so I`m paying attention to what you have hear)...Its good listening over my way...really well done..Fav....Ed
Loving all these field recordings from space :D I must've missed the flight. I'm so stowing away on the next one! Sounds great :D If you feel some of the piano chords are too low just bump them up an octave, it really wont change the flavor of them just reduces some of the really low lows. I had to do that on a recent track.
I think you played some chords on piano too low (I mean a lower keyb. range). There's also too much processing added when going for a 'modern sound' - that very final 3:17 chord doesn't sound anymore like a real piano to me anymore. Probably there's too much of lower freqs in there, I do not know...
Yeah i totally agree. like phatkatz says up there^ maybe bumping it up an octave will help but ive tried that and it doesnt really give me the sound im looking for.. ill need to mess around with it and use some of the ideas in that forum and see what happens.
I absolutely agree with the others...beautiful work! It's already very good as it is. Ofcourse, there's always room for improvement and if you want to take it even on a higher level
I'm sure you will make it.:)
We -peoples- always have a willing to discover the outer space...
This is an outstanding journey from the outside! Have you been there?
For me it is one of the best soundscaping track from here...
Description : Sounds of the sea and trippy acidy washes with a cool beat and some live acoustic guitar. Written in Cubase with live guitar and keys etc. The sound of the sea and birds was recorded on the beach where I used to live. After moving to the city one sunny day I was telling stories to a friend about living by the sea and started making this track.
Description : This improv recorded a few years ago powered my interest even further than I expected.....recorded using tc electronics pedal and tascam studio recorder and a Fender Squier tele electric....
Description : I used some new "Anthem" pickups from L.R. Baggs on my Martin acoustic to see how it performed, and it definitely beat my expectations. Captured the sound perfectly as I needed.
Anyhoo, this song is almost a prayer, hence the repetitiveness of the verses. As Christians, we believe that God will one day return and take away every suffering and all evil for good; in that regard, this song is almost one of waiting too. Very simple, with vocal harmonies and whatnot. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Made in 13 hours.
Someone else wrote the words, I was just inspired to use them. I only added the "Yeah" and "Amen."
Description : This is a track off of one of my EP's I dropped last year. It is based on True events. Sometimes when people finally take a second in life to slow down and breathe in..... The oxygen is deflated and it's too late. Take your time people, because time is what differs a good decision over a bad one. Life is precious!

Description : So a guy buys a nice guitar at a pawn shop but returns it a few days later after waking from a sound sleep to hear it playing by itself. When he tells of his experience he is shocked to learn the owner had actually died while playing it. Is it fantasy or truth? Is the guitar in this track that very same guitar? Its all part of the mystery and fun of Halloween !
EDIT: modified ending to a deeper voice
Description : This track describes a magical state that I experienced a long time ago. Maybe you also know the feeling that you can't describe something like this with words ... luckily we have the music for it!
Description : So this is my first Chill Outish track. I was just trying something new and then suddenly this was a thing. Everything you hear is home made. I hope you enjoy. - Mr. Spook'd
Description : That's something i worked out lately
a swing 3/4 hip hop Chill ?? Don't know how to describe this kind of music.
Anyway VOICE NEEDED

Description : A progressive journey incorporating deep ambient chillout, swing jazz, hip hop, d'n'b, trance and a slight touch of acid with a thousand ninjas battling in space. Features a great deal of my lead slide resonator guitar playing. Also a whole load of synths, programmed acoustic drum kits and manipulated drum loops, big basslines, regular electric guitar, vocoded guitar parts and bass guitar (distorted right at the end). If you like deep chill, far out soaring beauty, fat beats and 170 BPM uplifting slide trance controlled mayhem, you might just get into this. In my heaven there is an endless supply of honey mangoes (an exquisite beauty of the fruit world) and even more slide guitar. A 1,000-year-long version of this track plays there on a loop (long enough not to get bored of it) but here I offer you the Earthly 11 min version. You must be very good to be accepted into my heaven to hear the full thousand year version so best start now. It may be heaven's main theme tune but it's not above criticism so feel free to let me know what you think of it. Maybe you prefer the soundtrack in hell. I hear it's pretty badass...

Thanks man! :)
