Description : I always find it so interesting to experience how a track moves into an unexpected direction while creating it, just because of adding vocals to it.

Before I added the great vocals of Epic Record , the track was mostly about just atmosphere. After adding, all of a sudden, the atmosphere changed, the feeling changed, but still in the same context.

I had to process the vocals a bit to make it fit the track (120 bpm -> 110 bpm, different key, second voice).

Thanks for listening,

Doc

Hi.
So this is some very cool production. As always drums and funky basses are great, reminding me of your older works. Some of the synths used here sound also quite familiar to me.
I see the 'correctness' of placement of the vocal section was already discussed but I must say I really like this composition as it is - vocals are pretty much only an another 'atmosphere' layer in here than really a very proper vocals. The placement is very gentle and they sound fine in the context of the entire track. Yes, maybe this structure is a bit unusual (to me the track is still too short - first part seems a bit too elaborated and the fade-out at the end was quite unexpected). To me the B part starts from 2:32, that's why I want that last A' section (or whatever it is) last longer haha.

All in all a very cool track and solid chillout production as always.

Best to you,
Alex

The track is great as a stand alone piece, but the vocals were a great choice as an addition! Really made the piece have that extra "something"!!! :) Nice work!

Nice track done with taste and flavour, for me the voices could
have come in alot earlier, would have defined the tune and not
keep people waiting to hear good vocals...
Only because the music, didn't have any highlights that were
different or distinctive if you get my drift...But that's my 2 cents...

Well done by all...

Peace...TG.

Hey Doc, really nicely done, especially considering you had to manipulate both tempo and pitch on the vocals to get them to work with the backing track. Actually, I didn't find them all that hard to decipher. The instrumental part of this is beautiful, with outstanding chord progressions. I thought it was well thought out and a beautiful piece. Well done. I hope all is well.

Richie is right about the vocals being in the wrong place.
It's like a three minute intro and a minutes singing at the end.
It's a shame cos there's a good piece here.

Hi Doc

I think it terms of creating an atmospheric piece of music you have without doubt succeeded. The counter rhythms with the percussion and piano parts are excellent. For me the vocals maybe need to be earlier in the track to establish that nice vibe they have (the harmony is fantastic) and may be return again later. Just a thought!

Great work. Love it.

Just had a listen on speakers and the vocals are even more blurred out I'm afraid.

Sorry to be negative but the vocals seem to have been buried ... swamped.
I can't really make them out very much.
Sounds like a good piece but badly produced.
Summats not right with it in my headphones but it sounds like a good piece that needs re approaching.
Please don't shoot me.

Haha, I was totally curious how you'd make this one work and it took me by surprise! I like the cool harmonies you added. This song is definitely atmospheric and has a very dreamy feel to it. I'm impressed with this man. This is why I make acapellas - to hear the cool stuff you guys can do with them!

Description : Sounds of the sea and trippy acidy washes with a cool beat and some live acoustic guitar. Written in Cubase with live guitar and keys etc. The sound of the sea and birds was recorded on the beach where I used to live. After moving to the city one sunny day I was telling stories to a friend about living by the sea and started making this track.

Description : I used some new "Anthem" pickups from L.R. Baggs on my Martin acoustic to see how it performed, and it definitely beat my expectations. Captured the sound perfectly as I needed.

Anyhoo, this song is almost a prayer, hence the repetitiveness of the verses. As Christians, we believe that God will one day return and take away every suffering and all evil for good; in that regard, this song is almost one of waiting too. Very simple, with vocal harmonies and whatnot. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Made in 13 hours.

Someone else wrote the words, I was just inspired to use them. I only added the "Yeah" and "Amen."

Description : So a guy buys a nice guitar at a pawn shop but returns it a few days later after waking from a sound sleep to hear it playing by itself. When he tells of his experience he is shocked to learn the owner had actually died while playing it. Is it fantasy or truth? Is the guitar in this track that very same guitar? Its all part of the mystery and fun of Halloween !
EDIT: modified ending to a deeper voice

Description : A progressive journey incorporating deep ambient chillout, swing jazz, hip hop, d'n'b, trance and a slight touch of acid with a thousand ninjas battling in space. Features a great deal of my lead slide resonator guitar playing. Also a whole load of synths, programmed acoustic drum kits and manipulated drum loops, big basslines, regular electric guitar, vocoded guitar parts and bass guitar (distorted right at the end). If you like deep chill, far out soaring beauty, fat beats and 170 BPM uplifting slide trance controlled mayhem, you might just get into this. In my heaven there is an endless supply of honey mangoes (an exquisite beauty of the fruit world) and even more slide guitar. A 1,000-year-long version of this track plays there on a loop (long enough not to get bored of it) but here I offer you the Earthly 11 min version. You must be very good to be accepted into my heaven to hear the full thousand year version so best start now. It may be heaven's main theme tune but it's not above criticism so feel free to let me know what you think of it. Maybe you prefer the soundtrack in hell. I hear it's pretty badass...
