Don't know if its heavy enough to be considered Doom Metal maybe Doom Punk !
I dig the guitar track but wish there could have been more chord progression or a bridge. Great job on the vocals, really adds to the sinister or macabre element.
I think it is more Dark Gloom Rock but i am not good in genres and i am really not into Rock and or Mestal at all :)
Last metal concert i enjoyed was somewhat around 1984 with
Corn and Ozzy and Iron Maiden and two others. They played in a big sports hall on two stages, so it was almost 7 hours in one go :)
Almost enough for a life time
This track wasn´t planed in any way, so i had no influence on the music at all. I just grab Phatkatz track and start working a bit on it. Maybe there is not much progression but i feel like it fits good to the overall feeling of the track. A little solo could be intressting but thats Phatkatz work :)
Thanks for your kind words. I bet Burt enjoys your "avant garde" same then me
This is quite awesome! Your vocal work is done very well, and fits the tone of the music. I enjoyed reading the lyrics, and I couldn't help but think of my wish for the older inhabitants of the earth, who are hanging on by a pharmaceutical thread, to move on and let us build a better world. Maybe not what you intended, but it speaks to me all the same. This reminds me a bit of the garage band era around this town I still reside in. Teenagers having an amazing time opening for touring bands in a little ghetto club which no longer exists. Angst and focus. Leaving the stage and then moshing to the rest of the bands til late in the night. Thank you for reminding me. Fave!
You are not realy far from what i had in mind when i wrote the lyrics! Sure they fit to this little piece of music and in this case they are just good for the "movie" that Phatkatz has in his mind. (but i wrote them befor start working on this track really)
In fact i had in mind something like this:
All the bad, sad, unfriendly and terrible things around you, slowly destroy all the lights, what makes this world a fine place to be, like love and friendship, humanity, brotherhood and so on.
But here is a easy thing you could do. That every body could do. Just leave all this things behind and walk into a better world. With no anger or angst or fear, with no feeling of giving anything back. Only witht the feeling of doing it right in the way it has to be done. Giving in the way you wanna get........
So it ends with a - Come, we go ahead.
And if all would follow, the world would change :)
So this isn´t a real dark track. It sounds dark and deep in a way but i think it gives some hope
We had this youth clubs also in town. This was good times ........ but now mostly all gone ...... just one of the lights that already be killed .... time to enlighten it again :)
Thanks for your nice comment. I really enjoyed all your the words.
This is not heavy metal, there are no heavy guitar riff's on this and no screaming!!
I could hear only a spooky voice :D
But creepy in a way. I liked the drums. The electric guitar really gives it a spooky haunted effect.
It sounds somewhat down. Good work though :)
the heavy guitar riffs and the terrible, wild, screaming vocals were recorded by the crew below deck and without light. Unfortunately, you can barely hear it. :)
if it is a genre "spooky metal" or something like "dark rock" I would have taken one of them
Phatkatz will be excited about your words to his guitar playing/sound
Nice to hear that you liked it. I really enoyed your comment
I like the waves in the opening, It's like we just stepped onto the Island of Dr. Moreau. Do you want to be shot like a zombie again? I have a boiling death that needs to be put to use :p It's painless hahahaha Joe gets shipwrecked and swims to the closest Island only to find it's inhabited by cannibals. What's for dinner? Joe is :D One of my biggest hold ups has been the drums on this! I'm not that good at programming beats so I use alot of premade midi ones, then I'll edit them if needed. Since you redid the drums I'll re record the guitar and bass so we can do a proper mix :D I'll send you wav files of those. Probably be sometime next week. I'm going to be really busy the next couple days.
There is someone on this ship on his way into his own darkness ..... he felt into sleep and a nightmare is on the way ..... In his darkest dreams he found a helping hand and a voice told him that he could leave the nightmare ...... he slowly awakes and have a look around ...... he saw that he hit an island with his ship and that it will not go anywhere else ....... after a while he leaves the ship and goes into the jungle near the beach ....... Dr Moreau already waits for him .... the real nightmare still waits around the corner ....
Don´t worry about time. Record whenever you have the time or the right feeling to do so. In between i just do something different. Maybe another zombie one :) ? or this blues one, or a zombie blues maybe ......
This drums are realy nothing special. First I just used a standart robota beat and cut it abit and place it under the track, and let the fills away. Then i cut a standart fill and mixed it again with the drums under the track and look that i have almost same power on the new drums then the one in your track. So all what makes this beat sound cool is more the original drum line with your fills and extra sounds.
PM me when you have recored anything. I will send you a link to the stems.
Dark. Agree with the others, voice is creepy. Not really a stranger to dark things so I really like the vibes on this one. 2:03 tom sounds a little muffled but not a major deal. Guitar is pretty low and ominous and the drums has a nice pace. Great work. Dangerous.
The drum thing is one of the harder thing here to work on. I already taked some "new" ones over the track from Phatkatz but i left the fills. Hadn´t the time to try to make the same fills by myself so i used the org ones :) The thing is that i work only with a mp3 with guitars and drums included. So all i can do is let the guitars sound good and at the same time let the fills not sound to bad at all :) still trying to find a better level on that.
Right now i added a cello like synth and working on a more centered "lead" vocal. After that, the drums are on the list :)
I whish I had better awareness to what is really happening on the looperman track section currently but my attention is very selective now.
to me this piece is really dark coloured - very unlike from all of what I could hear from you last time. Probably it is too heavy even as I prefer lighter sounds - I am still searching for the proper convention here haha.
Love that you're working with this old track, and what you've with it!! :D Does it really need to be re recorded now? You got is sounding pretty damn good :p I have another old dark one, Doom(not posted), that was actually the first one I recorded with DAW if you're interested in doing a similar treatment :D I do need to re record that one, be alot easier to work out the drums for that, than this one. I bought a video loop for making a video for Doom, but never got around to it. Also for this I have a clip from Dr.Tarr's Torture dungeon (Poe movie) that may work well in the opening. Love that ocean sound hahaha I was thinking this song would come before Doom like the beginning of the adventure. The movie is about an asylum, in the forest, where the patients have taken over imprisoning the Dr (Dr.Tarr) and staff. The clip i was thinking of "You will enter this dungeon. Let the shadows watch over you as you sleep. (laughing)" Doom song feels like passing through the halls of an old castle. Here's the movie. It;s public domain so it's ok to use clips :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqtxVBFixa0
Nice to see that you didn´t shoot me like a zombie for this one
I will play around just a little bit with this one until i lost fun OR until i think it is a real great one and THEN i will ask you for the wav file, cause i just used that centraldev mastering try. so mp3 from a mp3 to mp3 .... but you are right it dosen´t sound bad for that.
Let me know when you will start on your doom project and need some vocals or else :)
Hey man cool track, but I think that the vocals could have been projected more clearly, because I can't understand a word they are saying lol. But I really like the vintage/80's shock metal vibes I'm getting from this one! Loving the flanger on the guitar, adds some pretty sinister feel to the background of the track.
Description : I asked Danke if I could add some vocals to his track Future Machine and he kindly agreed and sent me the track. The lyrics are about a soldiers experience in war as he and his trench mates are told to get up and out of their trench and attack the enemy across open fields. I can only imagine the fear, tension and chaos that goes through one's mind at that moment.
Description : I discovered Meshuggah around 2003 and was blown away by the power, complexity and super Heavy sound of their music. Their "Nothing" album marked the switch to 8 string guitars and pushed Heavy Metal into a whole new territory. My track is a variant cover of their song "Nebulous". I have stayed pretty close to the original but added a few dynamic elements of my own. Its loud, its super heavy and way out there...Beyond Nebulous.
Description : This unconventional metal track is dedicated to Valvedriver https://www.looperman.com/users/profile/841435 though it's not a parody of his fine music or me actively trying to sound like it. I struggled for months with the first few minutes of this track knowing that I must be able to take it somewhere deeper, more psychedelic and powerful. Then I loaded some sampled choir voice instruments, as used in my track Reckful https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/160356 and suddenly found myself happily in Valveland - not a place I visit often. Feeling amply Valvedriven and newly inspired, I added the last few minutes fairly easily and very quickly. So: it's a twisting, turning mixture of grunge, menacing ambient, mystical metal and ultra-heavy funk. Instruments: electric guitar+bass, synth basses, female choir voices, one synth pad, some other synths on the nastier side of things and a few programmed heavy acoustic drumkits playing a mixture of triplets and straighter grooves. Interesting thoughts appreciated. Favourite bits? Shit bits? Please listen on good headphones/speakers as there's a lot of heavy bass in this. Now get ready to rock: balls out, hands in the air and with rebellious joy in your heart. Just try not to headbang the hell out of your laptop. Go!
Description : Whats up guys?! Been a while I know. Iv'e moved around a lot but have finally settled down and have been hard at work with my metal band. Unfortunately I've had to put my solo work on hold for a bit while I'm recording with the band. We are being professionally recorded now, a very big step up from the last recording of my band that I posted here. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy! We are, Raze The Pyre.
Description : used 4 loops from 3nigmadjing including the insane riser which i love big thanks for that looperman-l-2432186-0114538-3nigmadjing-insane-trap-or-dubstep-buildup and ableton with old greco stratocaster.
Description : Something I slapped together in like an hour or so, I bought a new midi keyboard with a sequencer which made dragging and dropping sounds where I wanted 'em easy, so really this was a test run, I usually write a lot of metal and don't have the time to upload my material but here's a start, this has a techno vibe???? I guess to it. Enjoy.
Description : A grimy hard rock track fully produced digitally (even the drums!). The awesome main riff has been provided by prodreiter here on Looperman, and I made the drums in Addictive Drums 2, I will make them available as loops later.
Thanks for your time you spent on this track and for your friendly comment.

Good luck with your future projects!
All the best to you, Aleksander
Nice that you found some time for listen to this one, while all this "things" happend in the looperversum :)
The plan was to make a real deep and dark metal one.
Phatkatz called it nightmare, so it couldn´t be light
But overall it isn´t that evil :)
