Description : This is my attempt at the one-hour challenge for LM (finished at 57 min 48 sec). I had to mix/master on the go and this was the result. Some bad chords here and there that I did my best to conceal, one-takes on guitar and piano and used an awesome acapella from a1000times, who wrote the words that Dikaiko sang over. I really like her voice. Anyhoo yea, I like this one a lot so probably gonna come back to this in the near future. Comments welcome.
EDIT: This track has been updated. I think I'm going to call it finished :)

I think it's a great challenge and you did a great job with it. having a time limitation forces us to keep in the creative groove. congrats on your work.
Great tune. a1000time Vocals are really great. I see someone
said the EQ on the guitar is a little bright I think so also.
not a lot just a little.
I see you play a lot of acoustic rhythm and you are pretty good at it.
My question is where are your lead guitars?
haha you said it yourself: "you play a lot of acoustic rhythm and you are pretty good at it." :P I'm not a solo-guy, if that's what you mean haha. I'm not good at solos.
And idk about the brightness part, I like it to be bright. My last acoustic recordings were too dull (my "Come As You Are" song) because I over-compressed them. This is the sound I like, but I think I may keep it in mind for future projects.
I did not hear this before your update, but the recordings sound impressive, especially considering you were limited on time. Has a good feeling throughout the song. I found the whole thing a bit on the loud side, judging by my speakers barely being turned up at all. Things were pretty clear in the mix though, so I have to give you that. I'm happy that I finally got around to hearing this, as it's a well written and performed song.
A really groovy track, my friend. Loved it from start to finish! Wonderful guitar and vocals. I'm impressed by the fact that you did it in less than an hour. There's no way I could do that. Hell, it takes me longer than that to just get set up before recording.
Yet again I love your work! To do this in under an hour is brilliant. Everything sounds perfect to me, wonderful choice of vocals too and you really created a great track to accompany it.
Well, composing, performing, mixing, and mastering this one in just an hour, extremely impressive work. Terrific song with great instrumentation to accompany her wonderful vocals.
I give this one a 10 for effort, and 10 for execution, and a 10 for the final product. I'll also declare you the winner of the "one hour challenge," because I can't believe anyone else could top this. Really well done. I hope all is well.
Hey, thanks SBM. I appreciate the kind words. I must note that I did update this the day after I submitted it haha. I liked the song so much that I probably disqualified myself by updating it haha.
Hey man, this is really good! The guitar is a little too bright for my tastes, meaning i think the highs should be eq'd a little bit off, but thats just personal preference. Loving the folk vibes I'm getting. Makes me wanna put on a backpack and climb a mountain lol. Fantastic music as always ER!
Rico L.
Hmmmm, interesting. Do you mean the guitars alone are too bright or overall? I'm going to have to relisten to this tomorrow and make sure I didn't overlook anything haha.
- Readjusted instrument/vocal volumes
- Fixed several cross-fading issues
- Fixed timing issues with the lead vocal
- Added another acoustic track
- Added more subtle vocals near the end
- Re-EQ'd/compressed lead vocal and harmonies
- Raised the overall volume
I'm sure there were a few things I missed mentioning but that was probably about 85 percent of it. Took me 4.5 hours to re-mix and master haha. This is really fun stuff for me lol
amazing! love the guitar work and the piano it fits the voice perfectly, great job for 1 hour. Keep working on it too, it's great I'd love to hear a full version.
I'm gonna be making a mini-mix with all the songs, do you mind if I include yours?
Very nice! I was trying to write an electro song when this melody came out and just didn't fit what I was doing. You wrote exactly what the melody needed. Would love for you to keep working on it! Thanks K
Haha I most definitely will a1000times :) I love the way this one came out. Gotta make some corrections in instrumentation as well as fix some minor mixing issues but in all I'm quite satisfied with the result for doing it so quick :)
very well executed song i say , defo well hid them bad chords , vox is really clear in the mix and the subtle percussion helps it along nicely
very impressive hrs work i say

Thankfully, there weren't a ton of mistakes since the chord progression is extremely simple. I kinda came upon the pella and found a simple chord progression for it haha. I appreciate the kind words!
"I can't find those bad chords here - where are they?"
MWAHAHAHA YOU'LL NEVER KNOW >:) I'd rather not point out the flaws I spent so long trying to cover up hahaha. Jk, for instance, you can hear a slight disharmony at 2:01 (one guitar did a different chord than the rest, as you might be able to notice)

Description : There were two separate tracks in work, but who knows why I got tired with them and then decided to merge them (or at least what left from them) into one piece hence they originate out of same musical purpose. No worries...no world war was ment here, except my recent personal one...haha...and you don't want to know about it.:) It's not real etude by any means, yet it's quite alot about practicing...practicing...

Description : Again, another early production from like two years ago. I had a cheap little Yamaha acoustic guitar that I borrowed and mic'd and some congas that were given to me as a birthday present. I used my iPad GarageBand app to record the strings and the big bass drum thingy at the interlude and little electric guitar parts in there too haha. All the vocals were done by myself and my brother throws in some little things here and there with his voice :P Enjoy!
Description : A rhythm guitar track I made and sent to my cousin on the East Coast. Made with Tape-A-Talk app. from the Google Play Store. Download and collaborate with it.
Description : My very first acoustic piece in quite a while..
I hope someone grabs this and puts some vocals to it.
The software I used is Reaper, Addictive Drums and Gearbox.
Hardware is a Jackson RR3 plugged into a Line 6 Pod X3..
Description : Thats my newest Track all made out of free vst of the dsk series. Its a kind of chill out acoustic string thing that makes me thinking. Its very calm, inspirational and gives me power...

Hello mate,
Very nice track, but I feel the vocal is drowning under the melody in some places.
Well done.
