Description : Rock Instrumental. Minor key (mostly). Writing Process started by throwing down chord sequences, with more variations than usual, and then seeing what developed over the top. Used Roland Tr-8 for beats, and multi band compressor to open up the sound. Sep 20215: Fixed timing problems, and worked more on mastering. Sept 14 2015: Fixed some wrong notes and re-mastered. Mar 29 2016 re-mixed and mastered

You can play this kind of music on my radio all day Bob...funny, the way you developed this one is the way I end up starting a lot of my own efforts..sit around playing chord progs on the acoustic...coming up with chord variations..trying do do something I haven`t done before with lots of changes & then seeing if my head finds the melody ( I have better luck when I put the original away for a while HaHa)...this one comes out a treat my friend..I`m likely biased as I played rhythm guitar for quite a few years in band days & later developed the habit of composing around progressions I liked....keep on doing it...I`ll keep tuning in...this is the real stuff....definite fav...Ed

Hi Ed,
Great to hear from you. I'm always a bit in awe of your mighty guitar playing, but I can hit the right notes often ( although not always in the right order :) ). Many thanks for your kind words. I'm trying to build my latest thing from a bass line. see how that works out !

Damn this is good in so many ways Bob! A well thought out song, nice instrument choices and a solid mix. Dig the nicely played guitar as well.

This song has a commercial advertising feel to it, like it could be used by Disney in promotional vids and things like that. I could hear this played for a half an hour while the local realtor showed all the houses for sale in his neighborhood, lol. That's such a lame description, shameful really. I think you get what I mean, it's a solid easy pop/rock song that would appeal to all.

I like it, well done!

Don't worry about being stuck in the 70s. This morning I managed to connect my FL Studio midiout plugin to my Yamaha DGX-200 midi keyboard and get a remote controller to work (reverb). Nice happy track by the way - rock? I don't know about that! LOL.

Hi midisparks, Thanks for taking a listen. If you have connected midi stuff together and it works, you're ahead of me. I couldn't think what other genre to use for it.

Great track. I love the slow build and that warm bass sound among all the reverb laden high notes. It has a very strong 80's feel. Kind of makes me want to Watch Labyrinth. In fact, I'm gonna go watch Labyrinth now...

Many thanks for listening to this and adding a comment. I don't know Labrynth, but you've made me want to go watch it too. It's a milestone for me to get to the 80s, I've been stuck in the 70s until now :)

Music for being chased by a Minotaur. May be too happy for that. May be good for depicting the BEGINNING of the flight, but not the end.

This sound really good. 4:27 timing sounds a tad off, but that is a really nice guitar tone you have there.

Rather hopeful and upbeat track. Good stuff!

Many thanks for listening Evan. I'll go in and take a look at 4:27, see if I can fix it.

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.

Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.

Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).

Description : In the 1700's the Comanche Indians became known as the Lords of the Southern Plains. The Comanche ruled a region that stretched across New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and deep into the Texas Panhandle. The most feared and savage warriors of all the tribes of the old West.
Many believe their spirits still ride the night wind here.

Some Willie G style picking to a buffalo skin drum beat.
