Description : So I had a guitar lick for years that I never did anything with. I was going to try to write a country song with it, instead it turned into kind of retro rock track. I am pretty happy with the end result, I think it turned out better than my initial idea. I sang and played all of the instruments on the track. The drums are from Ez Drummer, which is awesome in my opinion. Thanks for listening, if you like the track please feel free to download.
Sounds great. Has a Dandy Warhol vibe at the beginning for me. Then the vocals kick in and it sounds more Country Rock. Vocals were solid. I would like a more prominent bassline but that is just nitpicking.
Overall great track. Nice job.
Oh yeah...that guitar lick does stick in the head...classic kind of rock lick I recall well from days gone by...I really like this one Kyle..Your vocal is, as always, top notch and I definitely like that country-rock accompaniment you`ve got going...I`m just using some old Sony MDV600 cans & they are terrible on the low end (great for checking highs) so the bass sounds fine...if you need to unmuddy it a bit just try scooping our between 200-400 and bump it a tiny bit at 80...great track Kyle...rea;;y did enjoy it....Ed.
Voice always reminds me of Dylan. Second vocal in the break is pretty cool.
I'm not a fan of the lower stuff on the left. Would sound a bit better centered a bit more.
Not a lot to really say in terms of criticism! More of an intro and outro, but I liked it and the drums had a good sound, though I'd add a bit more hat in the verses.
Noting, Static's point at :15 Are there toms playing along side the bass? Might be the cause for muddle.
DANG DUDE. Your stuff has spiked sharply in quality. No joke. You're getting closer and closer to radio quality. Such a massive (and pleasant) difference from your older work! Towards the later part of the song, it feels a bit unbalanced in volumes on the left and right sides, at least to my ears. Overall, A+ for your improvement! Keep it up. You're seriously improving by leaps and bounds!
Thanks for the compliments, I think I enjoy the mixing and mastering stage of the recording process the most now that I am trying to get better at it. I noticed that muddle as well, I mixed this song completely on my Sony MDR 7506's, I haven't has chance to listen on my monitors yet, I keep them in the studio that I put in at my school. I am having trouble finding the right eq move on those headphones since they are not overly bass heavy. Thanks again, I appreciate it immensely.
I probably told you that I have most of the EZ kits. I think I recognise this one. Is it the one just called Rock? I tend to forget their names when I'm working with them.
Anyway, your opening lead guitar has some pretty decent bends in it. A bit country for sure.
0:15 there seems a bit of a problem with the bass. It seems too subby and interferes with the rest of the track. Have you just got bass guitar there? Definitely something muddy about the low end.
Song is really quite catchy and fun. Drums are effective and well suited to the genre. Decent fills and switches from hat to ride.
Mix seems pretty good. Powerful but not painfully loud.
My main production criticism is regarding the low end. Oh, and the ending, which is very inconclusive and also cuts off abruptly.

I need to go back and re-fade that ending as well, it was not as smooth as I wanted, I adjusted some sections of the track and it must have messed with that fade not being turned down all the way.
Hey thanks for stopping by to listen and comment. This is a song I wrote for my wife, the little miss was just a catchy sounding phrase that worked for the melody and flow of the song.

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.
Description : when i was a kid you could go down and buy acid drops at the dairy - sour boiled sweets....vox, guitars and keys by me. Bass a LM loop by megapaul.
Overall great track. Nice job.
