Description : Vocals recorded by a friend in memory of her brother who passed away today one year ago. She happened to give me a link to a little recording she did on her gaming headsets, and I asked if I could download it. Thought I'd give a little tribute and try my hand at capturing that feeling of intimacy, loss and sadness in my first Pro Tools 12 session! Hope you enjoy. I do all instrumentation and harmonies, she sings lead. Let me know what you think. So far, I'm very impressed with PT12.

Oh man, this is perfect and very emotionally charged. I love it! You did succeed in capturing those feelings which you set out to capture. I think you should ignore Static's comment about a noise removal plugin, personally. There is, in my experience, no good "noise removal" plugin. Noise, by it's nature takes up most if not all of the audible spectrum. If it is removed, during the sound of the intended subject of recording, then by default something of the frequency present in the intended sound is also lost. Microphone recording has noise, and it is part of the character of the recording. I think that much of the emotion would be lost with processing such as this. He probably just listened to it at too high of a volume. I think you've done great work here. The whole thing was really pleasing to the ears and the heart. Sounds like you are having a good experience with protools! Keep doing what you do! Fave!
Thanks Spiv! I just now saw this comment and my apologies for not replying sooner! I really loved how this one came out, the vocals were great to me because they sounded raw and real. The girl has quite a voice, and I appreciate that she let me do this with her recording. Appreciate it!
She's a good singer for a 15-year-old, with a very heartfelt and sweet tone. Only problem with her vocal is the noise on it. You can hear it starting and cutting out as she stops singing.
If you could apply some sort of specific noise removal plugin, that would probably completely clean it up. Never tried one but I hear they can perform wonders.
Otherwise, it's a hearfelt little, short song, with pleasant guitar parts and your favourite minimal bit of shakery percussion and cymbals. Nice and wide, as you generally (always?) do. Bit of a country vibe on the chorus beginning 0:46. It's a good chorus.
Fadeout ending isn't quite right. Held, triumphant chord at 1:37 would probably have been a better end.
Wow, I forgot to check back on comments here! Thanks for listening, my dear Static. I agree, the fadeout isn't quite right but I wasn't really concerned about it, just wanted to toy with Pro Tool's new little plugins. As for noise removal, I don't know of any good ones. At least, for her voice, the sizzle is quite adamant and any attempt to take it away distorts her voice. I appreciate the kind words and critiques. Cheers!
Hi. Yeah realy is touchy emotional. But this track remind me, specialy voice. American woman singer who playing accustic guitar. Joni Mitchell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3SjqGfe-yM
Beautiful production on this one Sir.Very commercial, could hear this on the Billboard chart, has a country ambiance.Enchanting voice and melody.Top job!!
Very pretty little song. She has a nice voice and a sad story. Your music was perfect for her words and emotions.
It's great that you are back at it! You were using PT before, weren't you? I like with Ableton you get free updates for life. You pay a little more up front but always have the most recent version.
Yes, I've been working with Pro Tools since LE 6.9 :) So it was fairly easy to get used to, which I definitely like a lot. And because I got the student edition (full version but just cheaper for students), I only paid 300 for it! So I don't mind it at all!
Hi mate, beautiful piece here, the guitars are spot on! Well produced and soulful. Did she really get that sound from a headset??? Amazing!! Excellent work here!
Yep! :) The guitar work just came together really. Put it all together in about 6 hours. Fairly simple song :) I was just getting the hang of PT12 with this project!
This song is emotional and as such, also spiritual.
Tracks dedicated to loved ones are always timeless.
And I'm sure Amenci and her family would love to have a longer version of this. Simple and timeless.
Brado this is great, music is amazing. The vocals are great as well, she has an amazing voice, get her some confidence and this track will be over the top. Thanks for sharing.

Description : There were two separate tracks in work, but who knows why I got tired with them and then decided to merge them (or at least what left from them) into one piece hence they originate out of same musical purpose. No worries...no world war was ment here, except my recent personal one...haha...and you don't want to know about it.:) It's not real etude by any means, yet it's quite alot about practicing...practicing...

Description : Again, another early production from like two years ago. I had a cheap little Yamaha acoustic guitar that I borrowed and mic'd and some congas that were given to me as a birthday present. I used my iPad GarageBand app to record the strings and the big bass drum thingy at the interlude and little electric guitar parts in there too haha. All the vocals were done by myself and my brother throws in some little things here and there with his voice :P Enjoy!
