This is a pretty cool piece, especially for the pop style! Has a radio friendly vibe for sure.
I found myself wondering how many layers of guitar were in this... especially in the later sections. It seemed like the presence of the rhythm guitars were shifting within the stereo field... it made me think that there were several "takes" used and panned separately. So when one had a louder peak, the guitar would sound like it was coming from a different spot. While the layering gave a decent effect, I always find this sort of thing a bit unrealistic, unless of course you are trying to give the impression of a band with several guitarists. It's just something which stood out.
I could see the bass being a more pop-rock presence if it were raised an octave, at least in some parts. It seemed very "subby," yet with some saturation to bring it into a more audible spectrum. I think that in many pop/rock stuff, this is not the preferred bass tone. A synthetic bass sound can generally produce sounds which are a good bit lower than an electric or acoustic bass. Just a thought... I actually liked the bass tone, it just seemed unusual in the setting.
I'd be interested to hear your take on vocals for this song, as you always take a song up a notch when you sing to it. All in all, though, it was a good listen!
Hey Spiv! I agree on the bass tone. It is unusual. In other circumstances it would fit better but in this case it does stand out a little. The main thing was that I didnt have a real bass to record with or I would've gone that route instead.
There are two layers of acoustics that you're hearing - each layer is double-recorded and panned accordingly. One layer is playing the basic rhythm and the other is playing the higher notes. I don't know, I just like the sound of acoustics. I used to be tighter in my playing, I need to get back at it :)
Really like the summery vibe coming from this piece, as always with your works very good clarity and production, only thing listening to this one with headset, seems to be a little bit of bass drone or something coming through piece when listening, don't know if it is intentional, but slightly detracts from the very good piece of work...fav...Peace n Respect...mosaic...
Thanks Mosaic - I think the drone you might be hearing is the bass. It's an electronic bass so the note holds out consistently. I think I'll look into making it less harsh though. Cheers!
As usua Brado, your mixing skills are on the top fucking level. Adding that to the already brilliant composition just makes this track 683 times better (: The reverb really gives it some space for some quality vocals (not coming from me obviously) Congrats on this accomplishment of a track! Much love!
Yo Brado, this is as a wonderous backing track with a gorgeous chord movement, highly commercial, reminds me of something coldplay might develop.Great mix and playing, snare is solid.Pro-tools doing a great job-is there a pre-pro tools track on here i can listen to,just to compare the quality?Keep up the work but go easy on the cheese - bad for cholesterol you know :) Rhodsey
Nice job on this Brado reminds of something that Jars of Clay would do. I always like a good acoustic track and this is no exception, even without vocals it is topnotch. Keep up the good work!!
I'm planning on getting a lot of over-arching, reverb-saturated vocal harmonies and a smooth, steady lead vocal to create a more relaxed, thoughtful sense of emotion. Thanks for the listen!

It is Pop but also a bit country in here. Produced over a time frame of 2 Weeks at spring this year. Update: I did a remaster with some tubes in the chain.
Thanks for making this available for download, I had a lot of fun singing along to it and decided to record the result and upload it.

This track is perfectly made in all its simplicity. And I mean simplicity as in a good way! People often do it exactly the other way round lol
May I ask if you could describe your POW on the wish for vocals on this? Pure for my curiosity of how it possibly may end up sounding :D
