I am putting together a radio stream in memory of my late son who died from cystic fibrosis and would very much like to use this track. He was into dub, house, reggae, trip hop and many things electronic. The stream, sonnypieradio.com will be ad free, and will not pay royalties, however I am happy to give you a credit and links. Hoping for your permission. Thank you. Chris
To Patricia, the vocal is often in the background in dance music. Some times I use vocals really pushed back. As a singer it might annoy you not to hear your voice at centre stage but for the crowd and lovers of dance music it is pretty normal.
The Ideas are good but it all seems really loud and hammered together.
Bang, here are the drums.
Bang, here are the synths.
Bang, here is an Arp.
House music has no dynamic range really to speak of so we have to create the appearance of dynamic range by using fades, Filters, panning, Pads, Volume, Builds, Whoosh's, Drops, Risers, Drum Rolls. E.T.C.
The subtleties and nuances of the audio get lost in translation because of the volume.
The kick also has a pretty huge bass overhang that is muddying up the track. Its like 'Kick, woow' Kick, woow'
Its fine to have a huge kick but kick is bass so you need to either cut the bass out of everything else or tighten the kick up.
If you do keep the Kick long you may need to tune it/Change it to fit the track. Put a guitar tuner plugin on the kick and it will tell you the kicks key. Use that as a starting point to tune the kick.
The vocal is swimming in reverb, send the vocal to a send group and put a reverb on it through there. Make sure you put a eq after the reverb to cut all the bass out of the reverb tail.
A way of creating space without reverb is to make 2 extra copies of the vocal. pan one full left and one full right. pull the left one back a couple of milliseconds, push the right one forward a couple of milliseconds. That will create a phasey reverb type sound. Then mix those 2 in with the dry vocal.
Hi Spudsy, many thanks for your advice.
I'm really trying your suggestions in my music now and for sure it helps! Unfortunately i have not much gear to use( garageband on the i-pad 2) but i will do what i can. Just started producing for half a year now but there will be more
possibilities in the future.
Keep giving your advice to everyone because for me it helped!
Description : An attempt at writing a deep house track. Recorded in some guitar, chopped out some loops and built the track around it. Not sure if you could call it a deep house track though but there you go.
Description : A slightly hypnotic song here, a little impulsive but also comes very relaxing.
As always tinged slightly dark.
I knew again not what kind of a genre it is really.
Therefore, it is under Deep House because that fits in my opinion, quite good. But who knows ....
Who wants to understand the text, but not be German, which can be read by a translation.
To see under - Lyrics ....
Hopefully you like this song - feedback would be nice.
Description : So I took just one pad phrase that Alex wrote and built this monstrosity entirely around it. A gentle deep house ambient sentiment with soft jazzy pianos and deep and dirty bass withs lots and lots of percussion. I really like this one And I hope you do too!
Description : Instrumental version - NOT THE FINAL MIX
Used loops and vox by Joe Funktastic, Loop by Sharpnotes, vox by Sheba (who doesn't seem to be on this site anymore). If I've left anyone out I'll come back and edit this.
Anyway, I haven't uploaded anything in a while after a death in the family. Hope to remedy that with more tracks.
Description : Demotrack #03 St.Ra
Somtimes a banana is not enough, so i turned up my smoothie mixer added some strawberries and this got me back to my roots. I started with fl and deep house. I programmed a slow analog drum machine Blofeld mixed with 808 and Rickenbacher Bass.
Description : Strated making this Deep House styled track yesterday and yea... :D Hope you people like it or dont like it :) and feedback would be great always :)
Description : Again some new experiments. Welcome to my first G-House attempt! It was pretty muck constructed with loops but i also used some one-shots from my packs. Enjoy, comment and download! Peace.
Description : Another wee tune I made in Ableton, I found a cool funky guitar loop on here from a user called Danke and also a vocal from a user on here called Searz. The rest I made myself using various samples and instruments
Description : Thank you very much to everyone and please feel free to leave your comments
