Hey Ella - beautiful warm sound and a nicely nuanced composition deep beats and gorgeous melodic phrases - very well done
Btw - thanks for the like on the soundcloud - I deleted that one as I made a less noisy mix and slowed the vox a tad, think it's a bit better but who the f knows - L plates on : )
Hey, yeah I asked you when I commented on your song before I looked at this comment so it crossed in the mail so to speak. =P Thank you so much for listening. Greatly appreciated pseudoble. =)
AtticElla,Hey. I like what you've done and for me, you make the lo-fi house vibe interesting. I'm originally from the Chicago area where I first got exposed to house with Farley Jackmaster Funk and the spin you put on it takes me back. But with a European flavor. Keep that creativity flowing. Another classy composition from you. Stay Safe :)
M.T.
Hi!
Nevertheless it's cool, tasty, groovy and melodical, I didn't really found lo-fi here ... or maybe I don't know the lo-fi style enough ... but it became a cool hybrid song (if you show lo-fi in it) :-) ... a new genre maybe ...
greetings, Danke
Hi Danke, thank you for listening and for the kind comment. yeah I need help with that. I'm not sure if I'm doing things the right way.
Would it be too much to ask if you or anyone who would like to help me out listen to the first song here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8jz0uUWGJs and tell me if it sounds similar? If it does, then that would solve my dilemma. If it doesn't then I have to figure this out yet. Another pair of ears would be great.
My son in law is a really good bass player (upright bass) and he introduced me to lofi a year or so ago (he always had it playing in the background while he did his work in his shop). I found the great bass lines and nuanced arpeggios to be really enjoyable. So I now listen to lofi when I'm out by the pool watching the birds playing in the little lake behind our home. This track would fit nicely in that playlist. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Another great tune. I hope all is well.
Thank you Bear! I'm still trying to perfect my lofi technique. Don't think I'm as good at it as say bringerofDOOM. But I think I'm getting there. I'm probably just lazy and take too many shortcuts. But oh well, it is what it is. Thank you again for listening!
Ahh Yes, The Orb´s ¨Little Fluffy Clouds" remixed by Danny is what I meant. I was mixing that song with ¨loft in Paradise" from his back to mine series. Must be my age catching up to me (lol).
That's perfectly fine crucethus. Thank you. And the age thing? You and me both. Memory lapses abound!
But that 'Little Fluffy Clouds' tune is so good. Absolutely love it. I found two different Danny one is a 'Detour' mix and then a 'Downtempo' mix. I prefer the 'Downtempo' one.
Again thanks for bringing it up and if you have any others you like let me know =)
You don't need theory to "sound good." You could sound good faster, but also gum up the works with too much education (rules), so it's a double edge sword.
I've memorized pieces of famous songs to memorize the "distance" of an interval.
minor second: Jaws
Perfect 5th:star wars
Perfect 4rth:here comes the bride
Watched the first video and was easy enough. Will be watching the rest as well. That is a good channel, definitely going to watch more of it. Thanks for the link bringer. She's got more videos I'm also interested in. Wish LM had a discord server. Would be so much easier to have these types of discussions.
Not gonna lie I didn’t like the chords until the drums came in then it started to make sense to me, I think it was the instrument you chose, on their own they sound kinda weird but with the drums (which I love btw) it was hittin. Great deep house work as usual. Keep it up!
Beautiful Ella, very chill deep house. Reminds me of Danny Tenaglia's deep house work ¨I float in the clouds"comes to mind. just a sweet and tasteful tune. BOD is spot on with his Maj 6ths. I am enjoying your work so far.
crucethus, I looked for 'I float in the clouds' but I only find 'Little Fluffy Clouds', could that be it? I any case, thanks for pointing me in that direction. He is really good! I have to listen to more of it.
Like I told bringer, I should make it a project to figure out what you guys mean with Maj 6ths. It can get frustrating not be able to express sounds that you have in your head quickly enough when not knowing theory.
Thank you so much for your nice comment. Truly appreciate it.
So the chords that the layers creates in the beginning causes a major 6th interval (The B in NBC), which is super tastey. So, is the volume swelling automation, LFO, or did you mute the kick but let the compression keep going. It's the right degree of "ear tickling."
bringer, I might like some effects when I hear them but I have no idea what that would be called. I just punch in chords that I like from a vst like tonespace and chordz to help me out and work around it. I truly wish I know what I was doing music theory wise like you do.
So I either use filter sweeps or level automation. But if you are referring to the pumping effect with the kick, that is the lfo cutting off the instruments group with the kick. I sometimes use a compressor but I find I get more clicks that way than with LFO Tool. I'm sure you might have heard of the lfo tool vst.
Thank you so much for your comment. You always seem to lift my spirits. ;)
Nice and dreamy sound. Whole production old skool and sounds great on my headphones. I like your progression and the warm analog synth, they all blend well togheter with your 90's tape drum sound. Love to hear more from you.
Hey Ella, nice chill out tune you made here. This is the second song I'm hearing from you and again you combined two different genres I wouldn't have expected to go together. Whats more impressive is you did it so seamlessly. This is definitely for the long car rides. Great work, again.
Hi Modnex, this is not the first time I have been told that about combining the two genres and I'm a bit confused. It is a very popular thing to do nowadays. Everyone is doing it. There are a trillion mixes on YouTube that combine Deep House, regular House and other genres with a mild lofi flavor if that is what you are referring to. I'd love to take credit but I certainly didn't invent it that's for sure ;) I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. =)
Me encanta tu estilo y sonido. Juzgando por la calidad profesional de tus pistas, me llena de alegria que comentas y fav my pistas en LM. Es un honor que disfrutes de my musica. Espero ansiosa por tus nuevos proyectos.
This, to me, has a beach feel to it. If I were to be laying on the sand at the beach with the sound of ocean waves crashing, this is what I would want to be hearing playing on the portable stereo. And maybe some Bob Marley, he.
Nice piece Ella great intro into the drop at 0.17, the drum beat snare and kick are great with a lovely melody. Well done another fine piece of work lady.
Description : Unofficial preview* of my upcoming first produced track named Therapy. Litterly a cut out of the track. Uploaded with first thought of letting it hear to a fellow Looperman member for a possible collab later on.
Comments are welcome tho!
About the preview, after the drop will start to another semi drop and with an harder more rawish main chorus part behind. Everything is as good as done now and being checked by demo listeners for response and feedback before getting a last hand at mixing&mastering.
Description : My first house song (on looperman). It's actually mix of progressive and dutch house. Hope you'll enjoy this! :) If you have time you can leave feedback, it's always appreciated!
Description : Ugly ass witch house beat that isn't technically a house beat. (The Drum Track is by LM's Danke.) The Track's based on an older beat of mine with the same name. This version's half as long & not as busy. The Synths are Synthmaster, Massive, Dark Keys & Creep Piano. And of course, It wouldn't be a Clickbait Cabaret beat without nine zillion FX plugins. Pretty sure all of them are on this beat.
Description : Funk House/Disco inspired by Daft Punk
No Samples used
Instruments:
Various vintage synths
Kontakt libraries: Ilya Efimov Telecaster for guitar, Session Horns Pro, Chris Hein Strings, NI Guitars
Vocals: Plogue Chipspeech & Alter Ego
Description : check out janimifsson for these vocals
learning how to do house
good vocal effects
terrible drums
couldnt find a melodic loop to fit the track
figured out the key
the harmony basically matches the melody
probably in some dorian scale or something so
have to learn about that
the drums are my weakest point
good at the start but awful after the beat drop
please comment any songs to listen to to learn drums in this style
any advice please comment
Description : Melodic Progressive House with the lyrics by Mr.Shammi (visit his account here for incredible nice acapellas!). The ref is in Melbourne-Bounce-Style.
Description : Update: So this was the looper tune that started it all for me on this site. Hard to believe it was Over 10 years ago. This tune carries the ethos I bring to music...interesting, always change the genre mid-flight and you won't see what's coming next. Also cool to see the early comments and who is still around as well. (#Feeling retro tonight) Orig: Trance-step tune that changes direction a few times
