Description : I've been itching to upload something, anything... recently. I think this track is fine as it is, I dunno, what do you think? Its short but sweet.
Finally getting to grips with my hardware setup...
This was made with my Analog Rytm, Mother 32 and Subharmonicon, with a tiny sprinkling of the chase bliss MOOD. :) I think the only sample used is the crash cymbal.

Fit Like! Far Hiv Ye Bin? Izotope Relay will give U that space you need.
I have been experimenting with Valhalla Supermassive for the depth side of things. But I like the mix actually as it is and I am not sure that will improve what you are going for. There is a bit of Eno-Fripp feel going on. (Index of metals era). Bonnie tune mate!
God damn - got stuck on the phone and my link to LM reset and lost my comment ...aahh - well I was saying ... I love the synth/ subharmonicon sound very cool - the track reminds me of something that might have been produced by Eno back in the day ... for some reason also thinking of Blue Nile (go figure - this is not that gentle).. lots of good mastering tips and advice here on LM - great track already
Haha, been there before and nowadays I usually still highlight and copy my comment before hitting submit just in case it times out or whatever. But thanks anyway for re-commenting!
The Subharmonicon is great, and goes so well with the other synths I have, although it can sometimes be a wild beast to tame.
I like this! Lovely synths and I liked the build on the drums. Intro and outro fantastic. And the north east ain't the only place to experience four seasons in one day...pretty sure a NZ band wrote a song like that:)
Haha well I guess NZ is practically in the polar opposite location to the north east of scotland so I can see that being the same. I'd love to visit one day! Thanks for the listen dude, I appreciate it. Will check your tracks out in a bit!
I really dig this. I was going to suggest some stereo work, or some panning on individual synths, but it's already been done twice, so I won't add more than I already have. But, the lack of stereo width certainly is not a deal-breaker. It's still a great track. It is short but sweet.
The intro really sets the mood of an almost whimsical melancholy. Which, I know, is a contradiction in terms, but I'm not sure how else to describe it.
When the drums kick in you get a nice little Aphex Twin feel to it.
I like the transitions. That synth we heard in the beginning is kind of like a ribbon for all the other sounds to balance upon.
A glassy outro that nearly bookends the whole thing.
Thanks for the feedback dude, appreciate the listen. Yeah maybe I'll need to go back and see about adding some width, Ive never had so many people comment on that before lol. I actually listened to it for the first time in the car after I uploaded it and the kick sounds a bit boomy, but I generally like that anyway.
Glad you liked it overall anyway, thanks again dude!
the mood of the song is outstanding ... the production work too ... the intro and the outro are brilliant ... the synth sound is very uplifting ...
the mix is 95%, I feel a little tightness in the mixing (and, or mastering), especially in the bass sound ... you could extend the equalizer and let it go ... :-)
huge sound all in all, welcome back my mister, Danke
Yeah the only “stereo” instrument in this is the analog rytm… and that’s a drum machine lol. So I can see now how it could do with a bit more stereo width! Aye four seasons in one day is common in aberdeen hahaha, thanks for listening again pal!
Hey dude! if I can be "frank", the song is nice but for me it's the mix (a little too much in the 1K frequencies) and not "expanded" enough, which doesn't take anything away from your very good job!
Michael
Mixing has never been my forte to be honest, don’t really have the ears or the room for it unfortunately. But thanks for the feedback, I’ll see what I can do!

Description : Feel free to check out the video on YT as well (Alan McLaren Project - Upside Down) of this 6min journey from electronic to rock with some psychedelic moments...
This is my latest, but also one of my earliest tracks.... any feedback is more than welcome, thanks :)
Description : This is a strictly groove track where the elements of ambient meets electronic funk and Hip Hop. I play all instruments on the track excluding guitar solo which was performed by my friend Art Miller.
Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.
Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.
Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.

Description : Far out mid-tempo fat beat deep chillout grooves with Eastern/Arabic and slightly menacing vibes, huge delayed synth bass and a great palette of psychedelic layered and intricate sounds (mostly synths) and a stirring, epic feel. Even has guitar solo section reminiscent of some 80s power rock which is then followed by a brief synth harp solo. I began making it straight after staying round the flat of the flute player from the legendary Ozric Tentacles - easily the greatest ever space rock band. I made this in about 2001 and still think it might be my best track (and it's nice and short, for a change). My production skills were much weaker in those days (no EQ, compression or mastering used here) but, somehow, this one turned out pretty much just right. Feel free to disagree. Now sit back and get ready to trip extremely far out. If you manage to return, let me know how that trip was...
Description : Got some spare time finally...just started on some random ideas basically (lets say kygo meets alan walker). A blend of dubstep, edm, downbeat, tropical etc.
It's still a work in progress, so i would appreciate your honest inputs. Thanks to all those whose loops I have used in here, sorry I don't have time to search them out.
Edit-added some more filthy sounds from my previous tracks and gave it some ending. Advice will be helpful.

I'm not finding any particularly harsh or offending frequencies in the mix, nor am I hearing anything that seems without intent.
If you not happy with the mix, just chop the from 8K up on the master, deadpan every track, and call it lofi...
:P

Now when someone puts a title up like that you know they are only coming from one small space in the planet and the NE is never far away :)
I like your tune i culd even hear little sprinkles of some kinda lead coming in and out on this good work man :)
