Description : As we usher in the dystopian rule of AI, civilization devolves into the most primal of human instincts. Sex and Violence. This is a cinematic-electro-industrial-metal tune that paints a picture of our social-economical decline into depravity. Enjoy. Or don't. It's your choice. One of the few choices we still have the freedom to make. Take care. V.

Woo hoo - killer of a track - great metal composition, love those guitars and very cool spoken word. Resonating with me after its stopped which is always a sign to me that the artist has got it right
Holee shyt....this is awesome. My musical journey began as the guitarist in a garage metal band when I was 16 years old, and even though most of my work these days is completely different, i still wear those influences. Ive had a side project in mind involving Industrial Metal recently, and this makes me want to dive right into that and get it going. I havent heard anything like this in years, this is excellent work.
Thanks, man. I'm glad you liked it.
I say do it. Dive in and do the shit out of it, brother. Bring your side project to the forefront and knock that fucker out of the park! Uncle Al didn't pioneer the way for side projects. But, you know, only if you want to. But, if you do, I want to hear it.
That's all for now. Take care, man.

Hello ValveDriver
I do not know how exactly I will write about your music, and that is because I do not often listen to this genre. It surely is of dystopian character, very cinematic to my ears and of course extremely intense. Clear sound and vocals that satisfy the listener through out the song.
AI is already in our lives. I only wish it stays an excellent help in our hands. Going beyond this will drive us to such a bad situation as this you describe with your notes.
I wish you the best, Anthony
Anthony, thank you for taking the time.
I'm glad you enjoyed this even though it's not your genre of preference. That means a lot to me.
AI is in fact already in our lives. For the most part, from what I've seen, it's been for a useful and helpful cause. But knowing how mankind works, I fear it's only a matter of time until it's used for the wrong reasons.
Got major dark and gritty vibes immediately from this tune, definitely sets the stage with your backstory! What did you use to create the sounds? Love the metallic energy and the crazy energy this track gives off, very good work!
I'm glad you liked this one, and thank you for taking the time to listen AND comment.
As far as the sounds and their creation, I'll go in chronological order of what you hear in the song. Mainly because I'm not sure if you had any sound specifically in mind. I figure I'll cover them all.
In the intro:
The metallic hit- A hammer and anvil that I've used in several songs since 2012.
The bouncy synth: Serum
The droning synth: Serum with loads of reverb.
The woman: a download I got from Freesound.org.
The body:
The crowd chants, and Easy way/Hard way lady- My recordings from the Portland riots a couple years ago.
Then, the hammer and anvil again here and there.
I think that covers everything that's not the guitars and drums. I hope that answers your question.
First of all, I would like to say that I have read your profile, your comments on your own song and also the review of our song carefully and several times. Everything suits you, very authentic!
This song paints a very dark picture of a dark future and could perhaps be frightening for some people. But your music conveys a warning. If we continue like this with our world, our dealings with individuals and, on top of that, make ourselves dependent on artificial intelligence, then we will lose everything! Everyone should actually ask themselves whether this can be the meaning of our lives. It's a bit reminiscent of what ancient writers have often told and described: selling our souls for a little more wealth. For me, artificial intelligence is selling your own intelligence!
Your song is great in every way!
Stay as you are, Manuela.
Manuela, hello. Thank you for taking the time to, not only listen to my song, but to add a thoughtful comment as well.
I've always been an artist. Drawing and painting are my first true love. In that, I have always tried to reflect to society the true image behind the veil. Usually, I was just labeled as a pessimist, and negative. Even called cancerous on more than one occasion. No matter, though.
I do find the whole AI thing kind of fascinating. Like I said in my reply to Crucethus, there are pros and cons. I think as long as there are people like you and I, who feel that it's selling our own intelligence, and who treat it very carefully, we will be just fine. As nasty as humans can be, I like to think that ultimately, the good in us will prevail.
Thank you again, Manuela, for taking the time here. It's greatly appreciated.
Take care.
Aaron.
Very good track, a powerful performance of the concept you are trying to express. Wonder if you have been partially inspired by Fear Factory, it reminds me a bit of them, excellent production as well
Not so much Fear Factory. They're alright, but I never really got into them enough to even be able to tell you any thing they've done. But, I'd still rock out a little, and wouldn't ever turn it off just because they came on.
something like this that's able to make me instantly freestyle and not wanna stop is magical. Metal usually isn't in my song rotation, but this track would definitely be in it.
I had to check out Bedlam and PSB. I had never heard them before. I really dug Bedlam. I can hear what you mean, as far as similarities. Mostly the synth inclusion in the metal guitars. Havoc is pretty f'n cool for a modern thrash band. They kept it true to the original genre. Good on them!
I'm glad you liked this one. I kinda do too! Thanks for taking the time to listen, comment and fav!
Man...thats heavy, but so are the times we are now living in..the new intelligence; people now need warnings on their food packages to not eat the damn box..sad to imagine where its all heading..we don`t need wars to conquer the West as we are killing democracys with our own corruption...cheers ol boy...keep on. you do it well man.
I blame it all on overpopulation, greed, and a collective boredom. Maybe we need to start removing some of those warning labels, huh? Go back to letting the herd thin its self. HA!
Anyhow, Thank you, Ed, for taking the time to listen. I know metal isn't really your cup of tea, so I appreciate it when you stop by.
It has been awhile. Life gets in the way sometimes, ya know? But, I have a few more loaded up and ready to finish!
Thanks again. For the listen and taking time to comment. I appreciate it.
You've definitely played the cyberpunk 2077 game. You have a V signature, just like the main character from this game. By the way, it's a very good game, I went through all the endings to the Phantom Liberty expansion. I'm sure you got your inspiration about debauchery and artificial intelligence from this game
Honestly, I have never played it. I've played a lot of Fallout, but no Cyberpunk. Eventually I'll get around to it, though.
My inspiration for this one was actually a little Ministry and a little White Zombie. I had something entirely different going when I started it, but after seeing a few articles and videos about AI and what it's capable of, it evolved into this. A nice and dark little tune. There was a time when, here on Looperman, I was known for having dark and aggressive tracks. Meaning, it's kind of just what I do. No video game inspiration. Just life.
Anyhow, thanks for the listen and comments. I appreciate you taking the time.
"Let me tell you boy, there ain't no such thing as salvation". I can't believe its been over 10 years since I first heard that dark oscillating synth intro that snagged my soul and shackled me to the ValveDrivers mad music engine! So it goes without saying that I was pretty stoked to get the message that he just out of nowhere dropped a new track. This is my third attempt to respond here, not sure if its my suckass internet service or Shans website. I hear he's finally getting around to updating it. Thanks Shan! ANYHOW onto the business at hand. Aaron you definitely haven't lost any of your edge brother. That menacing drum beat intro grabbed the attention like a Viking longboat rowing cadence. I have to say the drum programming here is tight, especially the parts synched to the guitar chugs. That takes some effort to pull off. Like most of your stuff, this track has a unique structure that works well to build and release tension. I appreciate the few respites like the one there around 1:40, which feature some cool rhythm guitar fills and allows us to brace for the upcoming assault. Good job with the sound bites, I've done a bit of this in the past and know its not so easy to find what you need to hit the mark and stay relevant and/or to have sufficient restraint to keep it from getting goofy. To be honest I haven't been listening to much Metal these past few months. Hopefully this will springboard me back into it because I have missed it. I haven't been playing much lately, just noodling around from time to time and haven't recorded anything in well... probably over a year. After I stopped uploading material here I did do a project album of Latin based guitar music where I combined various styles like Samba, Merengue, Bossa Nova, Bachata, Cumbia etc. to create several quirky rock fusion tracks. It also included a few of my Looperman tracks like El Muerto, Poquito, Evangelina and Bard with a Bandolier. I just might have to upload one or two of them for everyone to check out. Sorry to get off track but this is like a reunion of sort. Take care my friend.
Neo
Ah yes. No salvation. I wish I knew then what I knew now about music production. I have a hard time listening to that one now because of the mixing...or lack thereof. Unfortunately, I lost the original FL file so I can't even go back and tweak it. I still have your remix tucked away in a safe folder so I don't lose that one. I was not only flattered, but thoroughly impressed! In fact, I just listened to it again about 2 months ago. Still loved it!
Shan is doing updates to the site. I haven't really noticed many changes, but I haven't really been here as much. A lot of the crew that was here when we were all hoppin' just kind of vanished. I kept in touch with Evisma and StaticNomad for quite a long time, but about a year ago, even that drifted. Anyhow, my point being, it probably took a few times due to changes and bugs still being worked out.
I remember Bard With A Bandolier! I always liked your Latin based work as well as your more metal.
Where could a guy like myself get a copy of your Latin inspired rock fusion project?
No worries about getting off track, bud. That's one thing that the Looperman is missing these days. Comments where people actually communicate. That used to be one of the things I liked the most about the place. I'd say about 90% of what I learned about music and music production was from reading comments here. Not only on my own tracks, but everyone else's, too. The place used to be a gold mine of great information.
Alright, man. I think I'm done. Get ahold of me on FB with details on how to get my hands on your project.
Take care, brother.

Lovely intro, and then the meat of the song comes in. In My Day job, I am trying to grasp how to introduce AI as a useful tool for your business needs. So far I love the Editing functions in Word, not convinced that I can create something new in Power Automate, but it does a great job repairing. I have created a few bots in Copilot Studio that seem to get dumber, not smarter. So all is not doom and gloom Cylons or Skynet taking over the world. That Guitar solo underneath after 4:00 is awesome BTW. I want this as the music for my slideshow at my funeral. (Dark thought). Great song Mate, good to hear you on this lovely nihilistic space you have created. Mr. C. certainly sounds like an evil character in a Bond movie who counters Bond by Drinking White Negronis and has an eye patch (I do not in real life have an eye patch).
As with anything that's ever been invented or developed, it has it's pros and cons. And since the Valvedriver aesthetic is a dark and foreboding one, I chose to highlight the dysptopian overlord sci-fi angle. Personally, I do believe that there are a lot of good uses for AI. I'm not familiar with the things you mentioned, but from an artists standpoint, AI art is abso-f'ing-lutely awesome! As long as it's labeled as such. I have played with some of it for my own entertainment. I've even used it for inspiration for some of my own paintings/drawings.
"...and has an eye patch (I do not in real life have an eye patch)."
I say get one. I don't believe it's written anywhere that a fella can't just get an eyepatch. I mean, Willy Wonka didn't need a cane... Just sayin'.
So I just did my first medal of Rock track had to come by here and check it out see what I did wrong but damn this is so wicked and raw. Love the dark vibes. This is so dope
V so nice to see you around, this wouldn't sound bad on the terminator movies :) Dark fate is on the tv as i write. you captured a civilisation of chaos nothing exists as we knew it survival is on everyone's lips.
the guitars are fantastic the bass is gritty the drums cut right through and the vocal ad libs are so tight, panic and frenzy abound, its dystopian atmosphere gives it the believable feeling we may encounter if AI gets in the wrong hands, the track is clear on the fact its here to stay but it emphasises the fact, responsibility will be the key factor to its use. great work.
Thank you, Dime. Like I said to Danke, I wish I could be here more often.
I remember through the 80s and 90s when there were sci-fi movies all about the dystopian societies and AI takeovers. Except we called the "robot revolution". Now, here we are. On the cusp. I like to think that humanity has the wherewithal to keep the shit under control, but there's always the chance that there will be those in control that use it for the wrong reasons, or, it actually does outsmart us. Either way...an exciting time in which we live, eh?
I'm glad you liked the track. It's the first one in over 3 years where I've worked on it from start to finish and didn't scrap it because I just didn't like it enough.
EPIC!!! You are the biggest representative of the style after MINISTRY!!! :-)
I'm so glad that sometimes you appear here with a genius and then you continue to stand as someone who has done his job well...
In addition to what is said in this song, I like the guitar breaks the most... it crushes like a grinder and you have no chance to survive... :-)
monotonous blizzard with huge zeitgeist and dangerous warning ... absolutely amazing ...
hats off,
Danke
Thank you, sir! Ministry has always been a huge influence on my work. So, it's a great compliment to be mentioned in the same sentence as them.
I wish I could appear here more often, like the old days. But, unfortunately, life, work and family take up most of my time now. I like the term "Monotonous blizzard". That really seems to sum up my work quite well. This is the first track in 3 years that I've been able to get into enough to actually complete it Maybe someday I'll be able to finish the many many starts I have sitting in my files collecting dust.
Anyhow, thank you again, brother. I always love to hear from you.
Take care.

Description : I asked Danke if I could add some vocals to his track Future Machine and he kindly agreed and sent me the track. The lyrics are about a soldiers experience in war as he and his trench mates are told to get up and out of their trench and attack the enemy across open fields. I can only imagine the fear, tension and chaos that goes through one's mind at that moment.
Description : I discovered Meshuggah around 2003 and was blown away by the power, complexity and super Heavy sound of their music. Their "Nothing" album marked the switch to 8 string guitars and pushed Heavy Metal into a whole new territory. My track is a variant cover of their song "Nebulous". I have stayed pretty close to the original but added a few dynamic elements of my own. Its loud, its super heavy and way out there...Beyond Nebulous.
Description : This unconventional metal track is dedicated to Valvedriver https://www.looperman.com/users/profile/841435 though it's not a parody of his fine music or me actively trying to sound like it. I struggled for months with the first few minutes of this track knowing that I must be able to take it somewhere deeper, more psychedelic and powerful. Then I loaded some sampled choir voice instruments, as used in my track Reckful https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/160356 and suddenly found myself happily in Valveland - not a place I visit often. Feeling amply Valvedriven and newly inspired, I added the last few minutes fairly easily and very quickly. So: it's a twisting, turning mixture of grunge, menacing ambient, mystical metal and ultra-heavy funk. Instruments: electric guitar+bass, synth basses, female choir voices, one synth pad, some other synths on the nastier side of things and a few programmed heavy acoustic drumkits playing a mixture of triplets and straighter grooves. Interesting thoughts appreciated. Favourite bits? Shit bits? Please listen on good headphones/speakers as there's a lot of heavy bass in this. Now get ready to rock: balls out, hands in the air and with rebellious joy in your heart. Just try not to headbang the hell out of your laptop. Go!
Description : Whats up guys?! Been a while I know. Iv'e moved around a lot but have finally settled down and have been hard at work with my metal band. Unfortunately I've had to put my solo work on hold for a bit while I'm recording with the band. We are being professionally recorded now, a very big step up from the last recording of my band that I posted here. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy! We are, Raze The Pyre.
Description : FINAL UPDATE -- 25.06.2015 -- L.O.D - Lovers of darkness
- Phatkatz4 on guitars and drums
- Joe Cramer vocals, synths and drums
I tryed to enhanced Phatkatz track. https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/139962
used loop - Chris Hall waves-and-ocean
german and english lyrics are in the lyric folder
enjoy - comments are welcome
Description : used 4 loops from 3nigmadjing including the insane riser which i love big thanks for that looperman-l-2432186-0114538-3nigmadjing-insane-trap-or-dubstep-buildup and ableton with old greco stratocaster.
Description : Something I slapped together in like an hour or so, I bought a new midi keyboard with a sequencer which made dragging and dropping sounds where I wanted 'em easy, so really this was a test run, I usually write a lot of metal and don't have the time to upload my material but here's a start, this has a techno vibe???? I guess to it. Enjoy.
I'm glad you like it, and certainly appreciate you taking time for the comment.
