A very ambient track - it could easily have been the backdrop music to a scene in Breaking Bad where Jessie and Walt are overriding sneaky villainry! Kay0s

Beautifully Atmospheric, sound score vibe; like you just found out at the end of the film the twist! and the smoke is lifting, and the twist was allways in front of you. Fantastic work.

Hello Chris,

I have a lot of respect for people like you. During my entire time at LM you have always stayed true to yourself and maintained your own style. I really like your productions, there is nothing wrong with that. Sure, there are little things here and there, but we all have them in our songs. To put it in your words: "You really have a lot to offer." Smile

All the best again, Manuela

Thanks Manuela, I hope your album launch went off well! I love it that a professional musician actually listens and thinks my music is OK. I laugh at myself sometimes cause no matter what I do my music always sounds like I made it. Does that make sense?

"Little things here and there". Yes, perfectly imperfect that's my style. I'm just making sure no-one mistakes my music for something generated by AI lol. I have a wee something in the pipeline I would characterize as cartoon horror movie soundtrack genre. Stay tuned...sweet as.

Nice etheral Intro, Almost Tori Amos like during her Cocaine period. I like the ambient break at 1:10. if you could bring that reverbed sound down there and let that Drum guitar sound in and then slowly fade that back in to the ending I think it would go a long way. Very cool tune, very interesting. loved it and fav'd

Hi there, thanks for listening mate. Might come back to it sometime but kinda busy with work etc hence the late reply too. Hope all is well with you, I know you had a rough period for a while there.

Sounding even better - I dont know if Im remembering right have to listen to other to compare but I think this is now a little less ambient and a little more shoegaze

Zootman replied 19th Aug 2024 - 4 months ago
Yeah, I added a very basic bass to underpin it, and redid one of the guitars so it intertwined a little better and if you paid attention you could actually follow along a little, rather than just hearing a big fat pugwash.

Hello Chris, for me this is psychedelic rock at its finest! Well done, very intense but balanced mixed and mastered.
Best wishes Manuela

Thanks Manuela, nice you found the mix and master OK. I'm such an amateur and have hardly progressed in the production side of things since I first started posting stuff. Well maybe a little, I think the first things I put out didn't have anything on the master bus lol. I now have a very basic mastering chain at least. Cheers Chris.

It is an interesting piece of music, as you describe it, ambient rook guitar. Not noise, it is not unpleasant. Maybe your sound is a bit wet, I mean I would prefer a more dry sound, so I'd be able to listen to the guitars more clearly. Keep up the good work
Best wishes, Anthony

Zootman replied 18th Jul 2024 - 5 months ago
The intention, such as there was one, was to create a 'wash' of sound. Any drier would sound horrendous given the quality of my guitar playing on this. I didn't really plan to do anything with it to be honest. But yeah I think you're right cause the two main guitar parts ended up intertwining quite well, even though they weren't really intended to be smashed together.

Hi Danke, thanks for checking in. Far from perfect in terms of the guitar performance but that's me lol. What it lacks in finesse maybe it makes up with its rawness. Much appreciated your listening amigo. Cheers Chris

Hello Chris, we still have a real analog tape echo in the studio. You can create great sounds with it. I find these sounds incredibly warm. But your digital one does a great job too.

Very cool machines. I saw one for sale recently at an antique shop and it was fully functional, but no way I could justify buying it, as much as I would have liked to. Still, the softube one does a pretty decent job...

Hi Paul, yeah, I wanted it to be bit of a wall of sound, or maybe 'wash' is more appropriate. Cheers Chris

Hi Chris, I think you've done something special because despite the rocky, distorted guitars and drums, the track exudes calm and, as is often the case with you, it exudes spaciousness. Very nice!
Cheers, Micky

Hello Chris,
bombastic Sound! You really dup deep into the effects box. Experimental trance, even if people might have a different idea to this genre today.
Well done!
I just do not know how you came up with Jam Sandwich smile.
Have a nice weekend

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.

Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.

Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
