Description : This track is about the excitement I get before I go to watch a band. I remembered going to see Madness, the Specials, the Beat, the Selector , UB40 and Bad Manners.
I recall traveling to see Bad Manners one October, it was really foggy and we arrived late(but they were playing in the lake district which is a bit of a trek). The support band had just finished as we walked into the foyer, the place was dead!! The main hall with a capacity of 2000 only had 150 people in it. I thought everyone must be in the bar, but after closer inspection, that too was empty! The band at the time were in the charts, so I was a bit confused why it was so empty. I approached a member of staff, who then told me that Bad Manners had taken the date on last minute, and the venue hadn't really had the time to fully promote the show. Then I remembered my mate had only told me the day before, that they were playing there.
Anyway! The band came on and were amazing. The fatty man Buster was all over the place., on stage, in the audience, on the speaker stacks, in the bar drinking and singing at the same time( now that was a funny sight). Later in the set he invited all of the audience on to the stage, while he and the horn section went out front and played (again a funny sight).Great night had by all, and what a memory!!!
So this song is kind of about that night. The band were Rock steady. All instruments & vocals Slap, drums by sonic foundry. I feel this song captures a live band sound. 7 piece horn section, 4 guitar tracks, 1 bass, 1 drum, 1 cowbell (listen out for that, you can't beat a cowbell to beef up the rhythm), 1 cymbal, two vocal & 2 toaster tracks complete the full arsenal on this song.
Again please feel free to express your views towards this and any of the Global Ska Network tracks. As I've said before, I'm trying to get them perfect... Thanks in advance for your time...
i had uploaded the track that i sampled from you...hope you like the final result :D again 10x a lot for letting me do this it was fun and very easy because the track almost made his self
dude... i cannot believe you do it all on 2 channels?... seriously?... well.. i guess it does make sense since it is just you... but damn!!! i tried the toneport, but i had a lot of issues, and then i got m-audio..
Dude, I've just realized something... I've not heard enough tracks with YOUR voice on them. I am going to have to go through your page and catch up, it's been too long ;)
This was an awesome track man, I love horns (although I'm sort of clueless how to put them effectively into music) and I love that ska beat. I was grooving as soon as it kicked in :D
Your story kind of reminds me of when I went to see Martin Sexton in Toronto. He's not well known here in Canada, he only started playing Canadian dates in the last few years so he plays a small place in Toronto called The Mod Club. It's a great bar, but a really small place. It wasn't full though, and in my opinion someone as talented as him should PACK a small bar. If you're not familiar with Martin, you should look him up on Youtube, particular his live cover of Woodstock/A Day in the Life because that video really does him justice in my eyes.
Oh WoW Man! What A desciption! Im Glad you enjoyed yourself enough to make this wonderfully viberant song. It is so Full of sound! I just got done talking with a friend the other day about the Energy you get from going to a Concert and how "Strange it is. But..lol I would have never thought how it could've ended up being like this. lol. I could tell you some storys my friend...Lol I really got the feeling that this was live.
Superb!
Another Block Buster,
i feel proud and honour when i comment on your work, you are simply the best.
i really like this one very much.
Peace
Rashid
It never ceases to amaze me that your doing all this by yourself!..I mean these Ska bands all had a minimum of six people in them and here you are pushing the bar by your lonesome...unreal stuff man!..not to put Mike Oldfield of "Tubular Bells" fame down..but his work was very repetitious and mundane compared to what you produce...you don't play music so much as you are music, or the closest incarnation of it...your going to need a press secretary soon..I'd apply for the job but I ain't pretty enough!...cheers mate ;)
Hi Planet, I could seriously do with a press secretary. I do the music, while somebody just cracks on with the whole promotion side. That is my idea of heaven I must admit. Having a team of people working to promote and organise press, shows, airtime, promos ect...Dream on!!! Anyway I got your track through today and it's super. I will get the soprano on it asap....
This song rocks hard. ive never heard of ska as a genre before but i like it alot. I'm gonna have to check out more tunes. Ive always loved horns and electric guitars together. underused in the popular music world

Description : Sincere apologies for this nonsense. Started out as a home school project with the kids but they refused to sing or write lyrics so had to use bastardised nursery rhymes.
