Description : First allow me to apologize for taking this down before (and all the reviews that were lost). As some of you may know, I was encountering a problem with viewing my 'Tracks page' when I was logged in. So through a joint effort of me experimenting with either disabling or removing tracks and Looperman's magic administration tricks bag we were able to figure out what was causing the glitch (overly long track descriptions, haha, me write too much, what). So my bad yall. I'll try to abbr stuff from now on.
Anyways, as for this track, it's something I cooked up at the beginning of summer where I was originally wanting to make a nice and mellow ambient track, but instead came up with this baby. And despite how much I tried, I couldn't really find anything to go with what I had for this song. So I decided to leave it as is and thought that maybe some of the rocker elite on here could help finish it for me. If you're game lemme know, cool. Enjoy this rare oddity from me. Lates!
If I still had my electric, I'd like to try something with this. I'd lose the pads or sweeps though. Bass and drums kick on this and the structure is well suited to a good rock track.
This is the second time by this song and both times I find myself playing along with the rhythm on my acoustic. Nice little blues progression to jam along to. Half of the greatest songs ever written use these chords!! Nice one Donnie!
Prech that mate. And I think that this would sound sweet with some good ole 'coustic pickin. Was thinkin along the lines of stuff like my dad plays (bluegrass/celtic). Heck, might even ask him to see if he can lay somethin down for this. Speaking of which, lemme know if ya do, would love to hear it. Later on!
real nice jam. tried playing along and it sounded not half bad! I like that laid back jam session vibe. The bass is really nice with those drums. i think a bit of funk guitar would go great, some nice chord stabs.
im not entirely sure about the swirly pads. COuldnt decide if they made it a bit different or just werent in keeping. Great track though bud
As for the pads, I could email you a version without 'em just so you'd be able to compare the two to see which you like more. And I'm glad you had fun playin with this (I enjoyed making it). If ya ever do record anything lemme know, I'd love to hear it. Later on!
Drums mate are exqusite! You do em live - cause they sound it? Pad is real nice, and bass goes nicely with the entire song. Nothing wrong with it just needs a guitarist in there!
Good on yah mate,
Keep it up :)
Steve
Thanks mate, naw they were loops of one of my progs. Started laying them out first and then went back n added the bass. The pads were a last minute addition, because I was originally trying to make a whole track here, but 2 things held me back- I can't really play guitar all that well and the progs I own have crap guitar loops. So I added the pads to add atmosphere and figured I could throw this up for other guitarists to play with. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Ya know what, I believe it was, because this is the only track that I've done specifically intended for collaborations with Guitarists. Though it might've also been for Mountain Wind (since the stylings of the pads kinda lend themselves to go good with rock stuff). Anyways, how'd that new equip turn out workin for ya and I'm glad ya dug it. Later on!
This is one of those times when I wish I didn't have to step away from the site due to being busy. I would've really loved to be able to hear what ya did for this. Alas, when I clicked the link in the other review it was no longer good (which is why I took it down). At any rate I'm glad that you were able to do something with this. Later on!
Thanks mate, and I would if I wasn't rubbish with the Guitar (trust me I've tried and it's no good, haha). Though some people have added some to this. And more will in time. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Haha, naw mate, I rarely do that (on here I do because of status and all that). As an ex-GF said, I'm "Filter free".
As for the song, it came about with me wanting to do something else and when it started coming together I ditched the other plans and stuff with this new baby. It was fun to make and I look forward to hearin what ya come up with (whenever ya do stuff for it). Later on!

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
