Description : Remastered** july27
My laptop was fooked so i havent managed to post anything for a while. Have a few different ideas on the go and this is the first one i have managed to complete. Quite pleased with its mentalism, i have some hip hop beats, dubstep sub bass and some electronic effects in a kind of glitchy 32bit style that make this track very different to anything i have done before. That said, i still would like some kind of vocals on there, but cant find anything in the 110 tempo that fits. its basically a cobbling of a few different ideas.
No samples or loops, all done from scratch. trying to stretch my loopermuscles.
Hope you like. Drop me a review to let me know if its Sh*t or not!

Sorry to hear about yer puter mate. Can really say that I feel your pain on that one (since I've had 3 crap out on me). I'd say that this is really nice for your first time back in the saddle for a while. Its kinda odd, how those absent gaps cause our stuff to sound better when we do come back. Perhaps its the hunger of it all or maybe its just the flexing of old muscles again, dunno. That's why I do self-imposed vacations every now and then (as to not get stale and all that). Getting back to the song, you've thrown so much at us its kinda hard to just focus on one thing. I'd say that the synth treatment is what I like the best about this (and the drums come in right behind that, there's even one part that kinda reminds me of something I did ages ago). Dunno how I feel about the voc-sams you threw on here, but that's prolly just my preference. At any rate, nicely done. Def save/faved. Lates!
Its ok now - i set it up on my work computer :) oops. But yeah this one was a weird one - the groove just came together in 5 seconds but i was like - this things got legs! made me want to dance when i added the beat so i thought i would continue. in the end i added quite alot of random parts together so never quite sure that its as i want, but for now its groovy. thanks for reviewing buddy
Wow Man. I mean it. I dig this track. I know what you mean about it needing some vocals. perhaps a sample of some old British woman/man saying "I don't know what he is" and maybe some other choice phrases. for example the Quest for the Holy Grail's "Runaway". scratch those a bit as a melody maybe add some raps from fellow looperpeople and you got yourself a fine track. I dig the scream.
NOICE WORK!!!
So I thought I'd check out your tracks since I haven't heard any of 'em yet. And within the first five seconds, this brought a smile on my face. I really like songs that have a sense of humour about them without being silly, and this is it. Funky and fun. Love the scratch effects (how'd you do that?). To be completely honest, I wasn't digging the bit from around 3:00 to 3:45, but that's personal taste (sounds a bit too "trancey" for me). Also I was really, really hoping you'd drop the initial beat back after bringing in the pads. But when you do bring em back around 3:50 - straight up awesome.
The scratch is just a sample that i layered up a bit.
fair enough with the "trancey" bit - just playing with a few sounds. I do agree with when the initial beat comes back in - i think those choral sounds really kick it off nice.
Woot!8bit synths are great, so I like the intro, then the bassline that goes with the wierd 8 bit noizes is good, the drums are fantastic, as is that scratch. Then the pads are pretty impressive to.
Cheers DJNoSleeves. It was something that just appeared and i just messed with it. Im into that glitchy style though. i think it has a really unusual bass line. Thanks for the listen!
Alternative and different - definately a mixture of chip 32 and house/glitch. Some novel ideas with regards to melody and bass hooks and all-in-all quite an unorthodox structure. b.t.w. I really like those filtered pads after 4:30 and that yelling sample is kinda funny too. Maybe needs a bit more work to get you uber attention but what I hear is quite interesting to listen to. Keep the work up! Greetz, --Davey--
Thanks man! Yes i really dont know how this one came together. a mix of the weirdest things i have done. The structure needs some work for sure. Not really sure what yet, but ill keep dabbling with it. cheers again!

Description : Feel free to check out the video on YT as well (Alan McLaren Project - Upside Down) of this 6min journey from electronic to rock with some psychedelic moments...
This is my latest, but also one of my earliest tracks.... any feedback is more than welcome, thanks :)
Description : This is a strictly groove track where the elements of ambient meets electronic funk and Hip Hop. I play all instruments on the track excluding guitar solo which was performed by my friend Art Miller.
Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.
Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.
Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.

Description : Far out mid-tempo fat beat deep chillout grooves with Eastern/Arabic and slightly menacing vibes, huge delayed synth bass and a great palette of psychedelic layered and intricate sounds (mostly synths) and a stirring, epic feel. Even has guitar solo section reminiscent of some 80s power rock which is then followed by a brief synth harp solo. I began making it straight after staying round the flat of the flute player from the legendary Ozric Tentacles - easily the greatest ever space rock band. I made this in about 2001 and still think it might be my best track (and it's nice and short, for a change). My production skills were much weaker in those days (no EQ, compression or mastering used here) but, somehow, this one turned out pretty much just right. Feel free to disagree. Now sit back and get ready to trip extremely far out. If you manage to return, let me know how that trip was...
Description : Got some spare time finally...just started on some random ideas basically (lets say kygo meets alan walker). A blend of dubstep, edm, downbeat, tropical etc.
It's still a work in progress, so i would appreciate your honest inputs. Thanks to all those whose loops I have used in here, sorry I don't have time to search them out.
Edit-added some more filthy sounds from my previous tracks and gave it some ending. Advice will be helpful.

Killer stuff for sure.
I am into weird music. Everyone knows that.
