Hey Man! This sure is a dark energy track! I like how it plays out and gets into it! Dark and mysterious! While listening you get the feel of running away, escaping just like the title describes!
Interesting and creative!
Keep up the good work!
Well Chris, I can see others stand in agreement with me regarding your composition skills. First let me start out saying that this track is a major improvement over the intial tracks you sent to me when you first came up to the house. Major...and good for you...however, AudioTsunami is correct, and I have told you this before...your samples and loops, many of times, fall out of rhythm and tempo. You need to work with a program that will allow you to enter your chosen loops and samples into the program that will stretch the sample or loop into the BPM of the track...it's called "Snapping it to the grid". This will keep your syncopations in tempo and keep them from "rushing" or "dragging" throughout the track. Right now, it sounds like a bunch of 3 year olds banging on pots and pans in the kitchen with no rhyme or reason. Daveyjonesmusic is also correct and we have talked about this before. Your track needs musical structure. That is why I gave you that music book from my music theory 1 class in college. Giving your song a beginning middle and end is what it needs....an ABA sonata format perhaps. Finally, both AudioTsunami and Daveyjonesmusic are correct again, you do need to work on your production techniques. Compression, limiting, EQ's. I have another book you can borrow,... you can't have it, I only have one copy but it's called Electronic Music Synthesis. Another book from my music major college days you will find helpful. All in all Chris, it was a much better attempt than your previous tracks you sent me. You know if you were in New York City, late 70's Early 80's writing music for some freaked out, progressive, modern dance troop wearing f**ked up costumes, doing f**ked up tribal modern dance shows in some way off Broadway artsy farsty theater, this track would have nailed it on the head....it reminded me of some of the stuff I would hear at some of these modern dance recitals, however, if you want this to be a club track played by DJ's...you need to keep working on it. I'll see ya when I back from my tour in June.
Thanks for the review, not really much i can say here that hasn't already been said. Don't be disheartened though, getting better at making electronic music, i find, is all about learning from your previous work whether that be from the good points or the bad points. Im not trying to sound condescending because i still have LOTS to learn myself, just take everyone heres advice and do some research on production techniques/ mixing etc and you'll be well on your way.
Okay - here are my two cents. You have created some interesting minimalist synthlines, percussion hooks and FX and I pretty much digg the sinister vocal and techy warbled moog later on in this piece - it shows imagination. This is quality I find important when listening to other ppl's music. I feel that I'd have to agree with others here in that the track does need more work for it to stand out more. Firstly the elements need to be somewhat clearer, EQ-ing and volume level are important. With the percussion try upping the 2.5khz levels but low-cut the 1000-400hz levels a little to avoid making the synth elements sound unclear. Also, reverb space and pan can be a good way to make your track have space and feel more 3 dimensional and less constricted. Finally, try and work a little more on structuring your piece, i.e. give it a beginning middle and end and try to avoid an "untied up" ending. If you can work on these things you'll find yourself gaining enormous attention as I reckon you do have talent with your ideas here. Good luck, --Davey--
must say thats different to anything I've ever heard before! It sounds as if a few samples are really out of time what DAW do you use? also sounds really muddy, try setting up eq buses for different samples/loops before throwing them into the mix so juicy frequencies, the ones you want to really stand out pop! while you lose the unwanted frequencies which will just cloud up your song.
ok...im not really a house freak...but it needs some work i guess...but i dont know what you could do...i would work with some melodies...just my opinion :)
cheers...JW...
Description : Unofficial preview* of my upcoming first produced track named Therapy. Litterly a cut out of the track. Uploaded with first thought of letting it hear to a fellow Looperman member for a possible collab later on.
Comments are welcome tho!
About the preview, after the drop will start to another semi drop and with an harder more rawish main chorus part behind. Everything is as good as done now and being checked by demo listeners for response and feedback before getting a last hand at mixing&mastering.
Description : My first house song (on looperman). It's actually mix of progressive and dutch house. Hope you'll enjoy this! :) If you have time you can leave feedback, it's always appreciated!
Description : Ugly ass witch house beat that isn't technically a house beat. (The Drum Track is by LM's Danke.) The Track's based on an older beat of mine with the same name. This version's half as long & not as busy. The Synths are Synthmaster, Massive, Dark Keys & Creep Piano. And of course, It wouldn't be a Clickbait Cabaret beat without nine zillion FX plugins. Pretty sure all of them are on this beat.
Description : Funk House/Disco inspired by Daft Punk

Description : check out janimifsson for these vocals
learning how to do house
good vocal effects
terrible drums
couldnt find a melodic loop to fit the track
figured out the key
the harmony basically matches the melody
probably in some dorian scale or something so
have to learn about that
the drums are my weakest point
good at the start but awful after the beat drop
please comment any songs to listen to to learn drums in this style
any advice please comment
Description : Update: So this was the looper tune that started it all for me on this site. Hard to believe it was Over 10 years ago. This tune carries the ethos I bring to music...interesting, always change the genre mid-flight and you won't see what's coming next. Also cool to see the early comments and who is still around as well. (#Feeling retro tonight) Orig: Trance-step tune that changes direction a few times
Interesting and creative!
Keep up the good work!
Keep it Up
