Description : It's been a long time since I posted a track.
Voyager...
I wanted to go with something very spacey. Huge sci-fi fan, from anime to cheesy 60's B movies. I didn't want something all dystopian. It's been done. So, I kinda thought I would make something about a lonely space traveler. I named the track after the Voyager I space satellite. The 'Voyager' in my head(vision?) was just an astronaut. But, he watches the earth die. The last person alive scenario. Hard to imagine what the last person alive would have in his head....
Track Detail - Sequenced in Reason 4. Nothing on this is a real instrument. The intro pad is a weird little Malstrom patch with a envelope filter and chorus. The chorus module is cv modulated non synced so its kind of wild. The first pluck instrument is a Koto. It's not played the way it should so it sounds more like an acoustic guitar. The violins are a Mellotron patch. The acoustic guitar isn't a preset patch but was made using Reason's other presets. I like that patch. Could of tried recording a guitar but I found that mock up to be alright. Other sounds were some weird modulated textures made with Thor. Drums were just samples that were filtered and pitched to fit. Kick and snare played off my Axioms pads. Hats were in a Redrum module.
Listen and enjoy. If you don't like it, leave me violent feedback lol. Cheers :D

This is a cracking piece of cinematic music, definitely captures an elevated and drifting feeling, space is a lonely place for the Omega astronaut...great visual track, faved and a definite download, great track to unwind to, thanks for sharing, will be sure to check out more of your musical offerings. cheers.
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for coming by and listening. The Omega Astronaut, where the hell was that title when I was working on this track lol. I'm sure if I rip off Matheson someone might be on to me. Thanks for the review, Cheers :D
I love that you used something "non-Western" for the melody intro. I like it when it's not assumed to be a NASA reality. And I really dig how if you listen closely, you can here the MIDI - reflects that dynamic evolution of music and technology utterly appropriate in this context.
Haunting, and provocative. So glad I came by to check out your work!
Sorry for the late reply n0mad, sent ya an email earlier regarding the BondVaga Satellite track. I haven't heard this song in such a long time that I forgot about the Koto. Like most, if not all stringed instruments, midi doesn't do it justice. I don't know when I heard a real koto for the first time. I remember a song by Dave Brubeck that may of had a koto. I also watched alot of anime and samurai/ninja/kung-fu movies that might of had some koto stuff. Whenever I heard it though, it was just an awesome sound. Wish I owned a real one though.
Thanks for checking it out and sending me the video link also. Cheers :D
Yea the track 'Major Tom' always comes to mind quick on this. Theme wise I think man-kind has run the course(war, death, happiness etc..) but music wise, still has alot of ideas left untapped. Not from me though lol. Cheers and thanks for the review.
Totally digging this track man. You have accomplished the spacey feel you were looking for.... kinda like im on a planet in another galaxy or star system, just trying to make ends meet. Keep on making sick music!!
Phft- How could someone not like this? This is beautiful. So sad. Def. achieved what you set out to accomplish in this. I can see someone watching the world be destroyed and the emotions that would play across their face. Well done.
Thank you for the review and fav. Yea the situation in the song is one I think about alot. It's done alot in movies and in books, so I figured I would try a track. I also have to say the Major Tom character kinda played a bit in my head. Bowie and his influence lol. Thanks for the review :D
this is an AMAZING cinematic track. Im a big sci fi fan myself so this is just perfect, the way the guitar matches so perfectly with the synth lines and everything was just spectacular. With your permission i'd like to use this song for a video. Keep em comin!
Hey, Thanks for the kind words. Yea your free to use it if you like. If you want a HQ .wav or a higher bitrate MP3 just let me know. Cheers and thx for the review :D
Haha, yea that koto has a great sound for being hyper sampled. It comes from the Kontakt Super Asia or Secret Asia sound set. Bit of time to take it and put it into Reason, but worth the effort I guess. Hopefully one day I may come across a real koto at a decent price. Till then vst's and sound sets will do lol. Cheers and thanks again for the review :D
Aaah..this is excellent ..getting that close to the bridge hard playing sound on the acoustic guitar to match the opening SciFi effects was brilliant...a seamless transition into the synth pads and viola we have lift off..At the moment I'm following a superb series "Voyage to the Planets" on television ,so this track comes as a very poignant backdrop for those images....an epic sound scape you've portrayed, but with the humanness that makes it all that more breathtaking and fragile...fantastic work! cheers planet :)
Very well done track man! Although, there were parts of the song that I thought were happy... where I didn't understand because if I were to see the earth die... I wouldn't know what to do. Yet, the good and bad moments I'd probably think of, so I suppose it was appropriate. The instruments were exceptionally well used, and worked in every setting. Definetely put myself in the position of Spok on the recent Start Trek movie where his planet is consumed by the red liquid black hole.
I enjoyed this man, well done! Keep it up!
In fact, I'm going to fav it... props bruv.

Hey, thanks for the review and fave. I can see how some of the sounds, the acoustic and poly synths mostly, have really happier tones. Though, I never actually thought about the character looking back at happier time. Kinda fits in my head more. The Spock reference is really cool. Forgot about that scene lol. Thanks and Cheers :D
i noticed you listened to my track bad timing thanks a lot!
well anyways im listening to this and it is very awesome because i think of space as the final frontier! this beat is like a space cowboy song! the strings are amazing and it sounds very professional. loving this one! my name is chase by the way nice to meet you!
Hey thanks for listening. Was wondering how I knew your name was Chase lol. I have the mp3 of your track 'Bad Timing', the name is in the id tag. Nice to meet you Chase, and thanks again for the review. Cheers :D
Very nice. I could almost hear a nice bass line playing along to it in my head as well as a some Timpani being played to push home the emotion a bit more. Of course there are some other things I might do to it personally but as it stands now, it is a great song.
Thanks for the review. At one point there was a very basic bassline that was just a D# chord(D# G A#)arpeggio. Didn't fit well. Kinda pushed the drums away. Timpani is a great idea. Might have a go with that. Cheers :)
your description actually really sets the mood well! nice accessible piece. each segment is wonderfully weaved in. Cant believe that guitar is not played live! sounds fantastic. really nice work
Thanks for the review. The isolated feel was something I didn't know if people would get. Had to come up with an elaborate description. Worked well by the reaction its got. The guitar I wanted to have an Ennio Morricone feel to it. Kinda hard to do with midi. Overall though I liked it. Thanks for reviewing, Cheers :)
Wow I started daydreaming when I heard this. Ya know very few tracks can really make me kind of "just stop and listen" and your track achieved that. Very emotional journey and I love that about songs. FAV!!!!!
Thanks. Yea, the idea of being totally alone and just drifting out is just crazy. It's like 2001 and Hal's not there lol. Thanks for the review, appreciate it. Cheers :)
I like your description more than the track almost!
NO!
This is giving me serious chills!
I love it man!
Dude...
You got style .....!!
I almost thought of ... you know a bridge would be cool.. but I like the whole flowing of it...
You can tell that the guitars are midi, but they sound soo amazing... makes me want to give Reason a hug lol.....
I think to make this even more a bit endearing would be to have a girl on a HP filter or like telephone effect with the whole "radio buzzing" thing saying "Come Back Home!" or "I love you!" or something you know???
Humnn
Very cool man!
I am going to keep an eye out for your work!
Coming over to hear another!
Thanks :)
Yea, those Reason acoustic guitars are sometimes great for thickening up or layering on top of some of my own recordings. It's funny about the "Come back home" thing. There was at one time a sample from the movie 'Pandorum', with the line "your our last hope" or something. Great minds think alike I guess lol. Greatly appreciate the review. Cheers :)

Description : Ok...here it is! Another colab with maestro Tumbleweed! Ed provided the unfinished, basic track...I composed and recorded the long intro using different synths and then added piano (well to the fore) and some brass arrangements along the rest of the track (no violin this time...hehe) and then did the final mixing to wrap it up as it is presented now. I hope you will enjoy it and we both appreciate your listening time and your valuable comments:) Otherwise all thanks to Ed!

Description : Dark, slow, ambient, cinematic jazz with funereal piano turning into something much funkier, psychedelic and beautiful in the second half. Out of the darkness and into the light, you could say. Instruments: electric guitar + bass, lots of synth sounds, including a horn, double bass, another big legato bass, pizzicato strings, two types of piano, a heavily delayed slide guitar instrument, zither, synth arp, one brushy drum loop, kettle drum rolls and 4 programmed acoustic drum kits. This is quite a special track for me and is only the second I've put in the cinematic genre. The more you listen, the more it changes (it even has key changes) and the last three minutes are really quite far out and should probably be longer. Best track I've made for a few months. Interesting thoughts and reflections appreciated. Free sex for the best reviews...
Description : So a new track for everyone. Im pretty impressed by this one, and would even place it higher than one of my best tracks, Angel And A Demon. However, I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put vocals to it. I have some in mjnd, but idk if itd be better to leave as is and keep it instrumental or not. Take a listen and let me know! Also, let me know if anything is too loud, still working on my mastering.
