Description : A special thanks to PianoSounds for "Streets of Blood" piano and HMNN for orchestration&Drums. These were the first loops I heard on this site and very much inspired me to attempt this song.Their loops are not altered because they sound so good and I don't know how to change them anyway.I did add guitars over the orchestra, and the piano line just ran through the whole song.I played all guitars.I recorded with a Tascam 8tr so guitar fx had to come from the ZoomG21u pedal going in and that forces me to play it like your gonna hear it.
Thanks,Allen

This one was my first...and I do mean first use of loops!
My son had just installed FL on my computer and gave me A brief lesson but my lord it took me a month to put it all together.I started collabing shortly after this one ;)
Thanks for checkin' it out John,it's interesting to hear how we all have progressed.
yoooo glad u reviewed me man so i go to heck your stuff out. sick beats. especially this one. good sht. cant wait to hear more and i got some mc's that would love to write over somethin like this. u got some good guitar skills too. my kinda beat makin is when instruments are used instead of samples and copy paste. skills
Thanks a lot swiss,I have a version with a rap but never heard back from the guy,I pulled all but one lead out so to make room in the track but,hey...If anyone wants to take a shot at it..it was cool.
Thanks again for the review.
Thanks Screenplay. This was my first attempt at building a song all around the loops...it took a long time but a fun time.
I hope to get better at it so i can make more than one song a month.
I love it though and thanks again
Allen
You must be a guitar junkie...me too. This was my first loop/live song and took me forever...and that was just a few weeks ago. Thanks for hangin in here with me and for listening to my songs, you were my 100th review in...and I appreciate it very much. It's 5am where i'm at,I'm going to bed.
Hey Allen this is one hell of a great track man!And I definately can relate to what your saying as far as this being a learning process.I'm impressed with how you played off of the piano, eveything fit together really well.I have a ton of loops myself and am nervous as all hell to try and fit them all together and post them here.I know I have a lot to learn. But I dig the way this song came together for you.
Thank's alot Jim.It took me a month solid...I knew nothing,I had to get my son to show me how to load the loops in FL and make it do what it does, and that was just a month ago.I was trying to use a beat the other day and had to call him and ask how to load the sample...again!It's gettn' better though and I'm having a great time.I told you before, you gotta a great voice and I think you could do whatever you want here.
Allen
I know the instructions say "don't just say nice job when you review", but there's not much else I CAN say. Fantastic use of PianoSound's loops (and HMNN's as well), great mixdown, and superb guitar chops. All in all, one fine tune, bro.
Thanks Spyder.Yea,How many ways can you say it sometimes, and I appreciate it in any form. This was and is my first song created around the loops and I loved doing it,the process was the hard part for me(my son helped)but rewarding. Thanks for the mixdown comment,i'm finding that really is the hardest part, spec at 4 in the am!
Thank you and I wish I could read also and play by ear,the best of both but hey,in good company with your dad.Yea we all got our different things we do good and on this site people get to share,it's a cool thing.
Hi Allen,
Just wanted to do a quick reply to this. Having a decent computer is important of course to be able to process the software. Of equal importance is your speakers attached to the computer. If you listening to music through 1-2" speakers with no sub-woofer, then it is almost like listening to a transistor radio. Decent computers are fairly cheap now, including laptops.
As for talent and or software you use....nothing comes to you overnight. It takes time to learn whatever your doing. How much you put into something is equal to what will come out as your results. I started learning guitar back in 1963. (Hmmm 47 years ago)
So with all that time involved, then you'd expect a person to be pretty good. I am on the downside....as I get older, I am slowing down...my fingers aren't as fast, etc. However, I still like rock music of the 60's-70's.
There is a lot of great talent here on Looperman and most are willing to help you with any questions you may have.

Hey Randy, one problem is a crappy computer that I must replace. You know what i'm going to say,no matter how great the software... and I have to learn how to use it also.but I won't let that stop me,I just have to work harder and longer for half the results.I do appreciate your comments,I gather you didnt just wake up one day with that pro sound, that a process was involved.I am thankful to this community for the loop support, enables you to still create music while you learn.
Thanks for listening and your review.
Thanks Randy,i did need to hear that. Yea, I just get frustrated sometimes when you do get inspired but have to jump through your own hoops to make a song.I'll keep knockin on your door for advice if it's ok,I do appreciate it.
Allen
Very crispy guitar it all works so well. U got some great guitar sounds here, it all flows so well, I like the distortion its just perfect. Steller track dude!
Thank you.I kinda get lucky with distortion sometime, pedal presets are no good to me so i'm always turning knobs and saving patches but it always seems to sound better on the playback. I'm glad it worked.I'm checkin' out your songs.
Hi Allen....getting over her to listen to this rock tune you put together. Very impressive I must say. I also have a Tascam 8 track recorder and used it when I first started recording off my Korg Karma. Used it for about 5 years...then stopped playing for a couple years and then got into Pro Tools and learned that which took quite awhile. I like all the effects you can get with out using hardware.
So in saying all that, just means with your playing ability and software, and loops, you can do just about anything you can think up in your mind.
So this song is really nice and the guitar parts are very good, and all the parts seem to fit well together. Most of my tunes I pay to have them 'Mastered' as I am also learning how to do that myself as I want them all to sound the best they can.
So just keep uploading your tunes and you'll gain a lot of fans that will also spur you onto making more and more songs.

Very nice song Allen. I love the tone of your guitar. Great chops you have. A rare breed, always happy to find another guitar player on the Loop. Bang up job...love it 10/10 - Bilbozo
This has one hell of a beat to it and everything melded so beautifully. Good job (to you and Pianosounds) and gratz on the grandkid. Definitely love your guitar work.
Man this is brilliant, stunning guitar work, Pianosounds Piano loops are superb, I have track here using one of his loops, if was not for his loops, I dont think the piece that I did, would have been here or been as popular as it has been, he is brilliant at what he does, and man you have done him justice with the track that you have done, arrangement, clarity everything is so spot on, instant fav right from the start, will checkout your others tomorrow, if this one is anything to go by they are going to be great...Again thank you for sharing your talent dude...Fav...Peace...Estefano...
Thanks ELSD,You guys songs and mixs make this stuff sound easy...Not!I have a lot of respect for everyone.I do need inspiration,I hit that wall often. The music and artists here like yourself have worked wonders,I'm looking forward to starting something new.
Thanks again,
Thanks Johnny, since i joined this site a month ago I've heard so many great loops,it's hard not to put every thing in one song.I liked these parts and was pleased they worked, you shoulda heard me trying to figure out what guitar parts to play.My son reminded me that I could do more than one song so I left the kitchen sink out:)
Thanks again,Allen
Hey man thanks!I gotta vocal from someone that takes the song in another direction and it's hot and very different for me,we'll see what happens.
Glad you liked it.
Allen.
Thanks for those very kind words. This was a baby I had to nurture.Every thing was a first, learning to do simple looping which shoulda been easy cause they were already made,to mixing...nothing but my ears and volume knobs to work with(I spent a day tweaking knobs, thank you for the mix comment). If all I had to do was play guitar...But the kind reviews are the payoff, and I have the song.Did I say the recorder was new also.Hey,I'm tired, can somebody just send me a track I can play to?
Really,it was fun.
Allen
I'm glad you liked the guitar.Again,I don't read music,I just go on feeling, for better or worse so my inspiration came from the loops,I had no preconceived ideas.I need to learn how to make guitar loops that work,I would love to share. Thanks for helping make the song, let's do another.

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
