Description : it's funny, but I almost forgot about this track, I found it half way finished in my project folder ...... lol .... but anyway, now it's finished!!! ..... it was made with a demo of acid music studio, and this time I used much more tracks as I usually do (30 to be exact!!) ...... synths and bass programmed by me, drumloops are from sonic foundry, guitars played by me ........... the song is about being positive no matter what happens out there, and you can understand it as my view on life .... thx for listening!!! peace, rei

I started up a forum thread about favourite ever tracks on Looperman and Evisma chose this very track as one of his favourites. I thought you might like to know.
You should check the thread out and also contribute.
Anyway: there is indeed some tasty guitar playing here and some of it reminds a little of some of my stuff. Same goes for combining guitar with electronic grooves.
Initial groove is a cool one and I like the extra percussion.
0:40 scratched vocal is good, especially the way it ends up revealing "beg your pardon".
Then we're rocking in a very controlled way.
1:05 second lead line complements the main riff well.
Drums could definitely kick quite a bit more in this. They're a bit "drum loopy" and some actual rock kits would probably give the track a boost but they're still pretty good.
I program my drums using Superior and EZ Drummer's various kits though I do also use a lot of drum loops, just for varied flavour.
The continued bits of scratching in this work well though after a couple of minutes I don't have that much more to add or comment on as it's pretty similar to the stuff that's gone before.
There is bass but I can't really notice it much. Definitely doing very much a supporting role rather than ever coming out and really being noticed.
Overall: some cool funk playing and I like the extra trilled notes around 4:14, just to finish things off.
wow ... you waste a lot of time on a 7 years old track ... lol ...
no, seriously: a thousand thx for giving me a very detailed review!! of course my recording setup has changed in the meantime, at that time I was new in homerecording and I tried a lot of demos and freeware, I had no master keyboard or something like that.
anyway ... you can check out some of my newer tracks like "rerum natura" or "I wish I could sit here forever" ...
and I will check some of your music!!!
thank you!!
I'm still relatively new here, but I'm ready to declare you the hands-down best guitarist on LM..... You know when to bring it, when to lay back, and your collabs are very much 1+1=3..... The bass synth on THIS particular song just plants the whole song in rich soil, and its nice knowing you've got the low end covered so the listener can count on another killer solo... Bravo. Hey... BTW... do a collab with me... I'd be honored... I've got a dozen tracks that need a guitar like yours...
thx man for grabbing out this old track of mine, didn't listen to it myself for a while ...
and many more thx for this great review!!!
unfortunately I'm a little too busy for a collab atm, we started the recording sessions for our second album ...
but who knows, maybe in spring??
peace, rei

hey, thx a lot for taking the time and check this old track out ... haha
well, I do many very different things, but funk and rock are my starting points, so you've chosen a good one ... ;-)

Don't you like finding an old unfinished track, polishing it off and it turns into a great piece of work ? I love it when that happens...it's like finding a treasure. Well I am glad you found the old folder on this one because it should have never have been missed. The groove is bangin....guitar driving rhythm. Man your chords are so cleanly executed...I love it ans the solo work is fantastic as always. I don't know how I missed this gem but it was a real treat. Cheers Rei ! - Bilbozo
thx Bill ... but I'm pretty sure you left a review when I uploaded this track before, it just got lost with deleting your account ...
anyway, I'm happy that you found it again ... and more happy that you still like it ... lol
Love the guitar. Pure Hard Rock. Awsome. Got to Fav. Some loud lyrics and this would blow the crap they're playing on the radio away. Great lead. Chorus somehing like:
Don't tell me what you think about me.
I don't want to hear it from you.
You best get outa my way.
I'm coming through.
Some good old hard rock I'm living my own way lyrics.
Blair
I love everything about this tune, the fabulous guitar, the funk and the details like the record scratch sound are really cool. I'll definitely be listening to more of your stuff as time permits. Kev

heya
great guitar playing!!!!
I've downloaded some of your samples to use from here.
do you ever use vocals??
they would add tremendously...you don't have to be a "singer" to do vocals...and actually anyone and everyone can sing!
even some spoken word would add to the overall...
I love your positive attitude...
all the best!
thx for the kind words ... ;-)
about vocals: check out "better to leave" and eshar's review there ...
other songs with me on vocals are "rush" and "a way that works" ...

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.
Description : when i was a kid you could go down and buy acid drops at the dairy - sour boiled sweets....vox, guitars and keys by me. Bass a LM loop by megapaul.
