Description : I never saw the grand canyon before, but if I should be there some day this would be my soundtrack for it ...... I used one drumloop by djhatim (djhatim-8882 to be exact ...) and changed the handclap of it ..... the rest is me ..... that drumloop has a lot of power, I wanted to increase that, so this track turned out pretty heavy .... hope you enjoy that too ........... peace, rei

If you have time take a listen and give rei4real some feedback.
I've been to the Grand Canyon and if any song could represent a huge-ass rip on Mother Earth's skin, this is one of the very best. I can envision listening to "The Core" at dawn atop Mount Everest!!! Great tune as all your projects tend to be.
Love it,your reply to NeoEnigma001 was what I needed to hear.I got myself in trouble reading about Comp, soft&hard limit...without understanding how to use them I just made things sound worse. When I first recorded on cassette I had none of these options so I had to try to have my guitar and backing tracks sound to my ears"decent"going in,then mix.i would like to hit you up also for a few tips...sorry,forgot this is about your song, love the guitar and clap in the middle, love that air.You know what your doin'
well, it's a mix of both ...
usually I use up to 5 different guitar tracks only for the rhythm section of a track, sometimes even more ... and sometimes I record the same riff two times with different sounds and pan them left and right, or mix them together to one track ...
to be honest I don't remember atm what exactly I did when I recorded this track, but I'm pretty sure I did a little of everything ... lol
thx for your review man, well appreciated!!
By now - I've heard two of your songs. But you're approaching the title as lead composer/player on the site within the Rock genre. That's my humble but honest opinion. The riffs you're cracking out are so simple, but yet they are optimized within the frames of what the chords and rythm allow you to do.
Yet another superb track, and another applause from me.
Simply brilliant.
rei,
I am currently living in Phoenix Arizona. Plan to take this track with me on a visit to the Grand Canyon. Like the Grand Canyon, this track is big, beautiful and oh so Deep. Great work. With Respect, Voltage
Love it, Love it, Love it - as a former die hard metal head complete with hair down to my ass - I so approve of this hard hitting, ball smashing track. The guitar is great! Excellent work...super props!
Well played rei4real...well played (rubbing hands maniacally) lol.
Great guitar tone on this piece. I love your sound. It's so clean and present. You have a very tasty melodic and rhythmic sense as well. That really stands out on this cut. I don't live all that far from the Grand Canyon (well especially compared to you...haha) and this definitely has that driving through the desert or white-water rafting on the Colorado feel, so you have achieved what you set out to. Peace, Six
Rock fingers up in the air! This is a really cool song I like it very much. The riffs are well done. Song well structured, even though it was a tiny bit repetitive.
This one hits you like songs rarely do. Similar to the first time I heard Golden Earring's "When the Bullet Hit's the Bone", or Dire Straits "Money for Nothing". Instant Love. As this is the first one I’ve played of yours, I can’t help but wonder, could there be tracts as good or even better than this in your portfolio? I’m off to explore.
Nice song. I hope you don't mind but I may use it to kick the snot out of my heavybag. It has that kind of feel. It makes me want to punch something. I say this with the kindest of hearts though. Great work.
i really enjoy listening to your work, its great this being no exception. the percussion fits the guitar work perfectly or is it the other way round? either way good song.
oh and i must say i have no idea how it makes you think of the grand canyon! haha

Big tight sound right through......I love the suspended lead melody that slaps off the main riff like an echo reverberating around one's head.....yeah! this has big wide space written all over it...I could imagine this as a sound track for some big wave surfing or some such activity where raw power is happening..big thumbs up!....cheers planet
for some reason i think things happen for a reason so ill just say what happened to me right now. don't you think it would be gnarly if you were skydiving to this. it would be fun and for some odd reason that thought popped through my head. o well i just say whatever. great track though it is a little more heavy than your others

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
