Description : Okay THIRD attempt to upload this one. I spent a lot of time on this track, it started with a Breakbeat Paradise Nu Jazz drum sample (#5 to be exact) and then I built it from there. I used a lot of OS drum sounds and snare rolls to get it the way I wanted it... then added my synths via vsti. lol I don't think I've ever gone back to a track so many times.... finally happy with it... I think ;) If anyone wants a copy let me know, I'm just disabling download for the folks who think this is a place to get free music to chop up without telling the people who made it in the first place.
Presumptious of me to assume anyone would want a copy eh? lol Fingers crossed it actually uploads this time!

Great pop sensabilities on this track. Excellent vocals... really top notch. Kind of dark subject matter, but I like it. I do like the glitchiness of the beat, it makes this stand out as not just a pop song. Nice work! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah the glitchiness was the thing that attracted me to the drum sample... and then once I started playing with them a melody came to mind and the rest went from there. Thanks for listening, glad you liked it :) Lisa
Great experiment. I think you succeeded. The drums sounded a bit glitchey, but that's okay. It's what you were going for. I like how you gliched up your vocal a bit. The synth pads there towards the end of the song totally blew me away. Nicely done! The words really ring true in this song. Keep it up.
This was a lot of work because it took me forever to be happy with it. I kept going back, adding stuff, taking stuff away.. then was ages doing the vocal mixing too lol. Glad you liked it :)
I was really thrown by the percussion timing at first - BUT when your voice comes in everything changes. I find I actually really like that hesitation in the rhythm! Isn't there a Chinese tradition where an imperfection is deliberately added into art? I'd say this was an incredibly successful experiment.
hehe... I don't know about the Chinese tradition but I know that when I heard that beat I really loved it and it was what fired me up to write this.. so even if everyone else hated it I'd still be happy with it ;) Thanks for listening and for appreciating my weirdness ;)
Hello Firey, loved the song. Experimenting is fun, especially when it comes out like this. I just joined the loop a couple of months ago..and so I am looking forward to hearing your new tracks. Vocals were original and catchy..... Welcome back
I'm so irritated with the truth; people lie when its more convienient and i understand that;;;;;;but i wont! It is obvious that the u used a less than perfect beat with off timing that killed your production. It was ok, coulda been amazing but u settled 4 less. This is the same type of review i just gave to an unfortuante producer who setteled 4 a half asss outcome...Dont get all excited cuzz i do the same thing,,,,we all do. Its in our nature to settle 4 a less than adequate self portrait!!!!Just learn to not make a habbit of it....K..
Ummm... dude, I hate to break it to you but I am not going to freak out on you. If that's what you want it's not what you'll get. Guess what? This is like the 6th song I've done without help from anyone AND it was experimental. When you experiment with tracks it tends to make them less than perfect... and to be honest "perfect" is different by each person's standards. I am happy with this, simply because it worked for me at the time. The beat was a sample, and I wanted the glitch that was in it in the song. If you don't like it, fine. That's your opinion. This was simply an experiment and another step in learning to use a program, so please get your bloody panties out of a bunch? You were more upset by this review than I was lol.
Really nice track, iz it u doing vocals?
just one bit ov constructive critisizm, your drum loop iz a few millisecs short, just lengthen it a fraction or just knock the tempo up one, ull see a big difference...
peace, Ruffless...

I like the version you sent me and this was just in the featured box so i decided to check how you have progressed and to my surprise it was awsome!
i absolutely love this track and you can tell you have spent alot of time on this
Great job
sorry for not being in touch the past few weeks,, im getting back on track now :D
This song really moved me. If i was makin a movie i'd definintely want this song in it...Brings to mind the movie Vanilla sky, I think this song would have fitted beautifully in that movie. Congrats on being engaged to a bloke from scotland!! I'm scottish too...We are sexy!!!!
Well it's been a while since I dropped by and listened to your tracks, hey guess what! It just gets better. This is a great track, you said yourself you put a lot in and your getting a lot out of it also, I know I am listening. my advice is just keep doing what you're doing it sounds mighty fine lady! Oh by the way, you must have a pretty big folder of pics now, I like the new one! Is this a monthly thing? Cheers Slap...
Haha yeah I actually have a penchant for messing with my face... I do a lot of photo manipulations etc, also turning my face into weird graphic art (that's what the last one was). You can blame the fact that I am stuck hiding in my room too much when I'm watching my roommate's son. He's autistic and has home teachers.. and they expect me to hide away and not make noise.. but still be on call. Kinda kills music making during the day so I turn to graphic stuff lol. If people would let me take their pics I'd be playing with their faces instead... alas no volunteers ;)
I'm glad the work I put into this track shows.. Once I got started I needed to get it done before I could move onto something else. Thanks for listening! ~Lisa
Just hopped on the site and there was your song. I must say that you have a beautiful voice. I would like to add vocals to my music too. What do you use, b/c it sounds great!
Hey thanks very much :) I use Adobe Audition to do my vocal recording and mixing and Acid Pro to do the music. Seems to work well... even if it's a bit fidgety at times :) Thanks for listening!
Big depth happening...fathoms of it!......I swear your voice is sounding better(if that's possible)....a great piece of work, the time signature is different from your normal approach,I really like this aspect of the song as it shows your versatility........great!....cheers planet
Hehe, my voice is a funny thing at times... my range is fairly wide, but I find that certain sections of my voice (at least to my ears) seem to sound better. Hard thing is not all melodies use the parts of my range I actually like lmao. Thanks for listening, glad you liked it :)
Yep, exactly. My ex spend 13 years wanting me to change... and when I did he was mad he didn't get to benefit *those were his words*. Thanks for listening :) ~Lisa
your voice is the best thing about this track, the rest fades away due to your awsome voice.don't get me wrong you done a good job on the instruments, but it aint as good as your vocal work.
Hehe it's good to know I didn't screw up the music part. I'll never claim to be a dj, I am first and foremost a singer/songwriter, and honestly if I had a band to work with I'd be one happy camper. Since it's just me flying solo, electronic works for me. I appreciate the nice compliment, it's nice to know that even though I really don't like my voice, others do lol.
Description : Feel free to check out the video on YT as well (Alan McLaren Project - Upside Down) of this 6min journey from electronic to rock with some psychedelic moments...
This is my latest, but also one of my earliest tracks.... any feedback is more than welcome, thanks :)
Description : This is a strictly groove track where the elements of ambient meets electronic funk and Hip Hop. I play all instruments on the track excluding guitar solo which was performed by my friend Art Miller.
Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.
Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.
Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.

Description : Far out mid-tempo fat beat deep chillout grooves with Eastern/Arabic and slightly menacing vibes, huge delayed synth bass and a great palette of psychedelic layered and intricate sounds (mostly synths) and a stirring, epic feel. Even has guitar solo section reminiscent of some 80s power rock which is then followed by a brief synth harp solo. I began making it straight after staying round the flat of the flute player from the legendary Ozric Tentacles - easily the greatest ever space rock band. I made this in about 2001 and still think it might be my best track (and it's nice and short, for a change). My production skills were much weaker in those days (no EQ, compression or mastering used here) but, somehow, this one turned out pretty much just right. Feel free to disagree. Now sit back and get ready to trip extremely far out. If you manage to return, let me know how that trip was...
Description : Got some spare time finally...just started on some random ideas basically (lets say kygo meets alan walker). A blend of dubstep, edm, downbeat, tropical etc.
It's still a work in progress, so i would appreciate your honest inputs. Thanks to all those whose loops I have used in here, sorry I don't have time to search them out.
Edit-added some more filthy sounds from my previous tracks and gave it some ending. Advice will be helpful.
Cheers,
Toddj
