Description : young female warrior is in pursuit even as she is pursued. dark foggy night and in the distance a church bell sounds and then . . . gunshots . . .
the track was inspired by a video game concept. intended as journeying/traveling/exploring background. it is loop based, features ethnic drums and a kanoon (turkish plucked instrument)

We seem to have similar interests when it comes to music. I actually want to have my own rpg game created with me composing the whole soundtrack one day. Kind of like most of my fav top composers of vgm or film music. Many favorites of mine are actually foreign. Such as Nobuo Uematsu(final fantasy composer) Yoshitaka Hirota, Nobuyoshi Sano, and many more names i cannot pronounce lol but their work is undeniable. But of course i still love many american based composer such as Hans Zimmer, Bruce Faulconer(DBZ), Martin O' Donnell etc.
And i agree with the others, you have the concepts down, it would just be nice to have full tracks. And from what i know really about VGM, the songs do not have to be "that" long. As they are most of the time tailored to specific scenes in games or movies and will play for maybe 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Sometimes longer, but that's usually credits and intros and stuff like that. How do i know this? Just alot of gaming and movie watching lol ALOT. great initiatives here man. peace
thanks for all of that info Neo. i hope to check out the composers you mentioned as well as more of your work. i am in fact on the road toward more expansive tracks. peace for now. Dan
had a chance this morning to listen to "Now I am Free" your voice is nice and clear and a nice range. making the chorus in your high range and that the verses in lower range is such a simple but effective tool for contrast. maybe especially true because of the colors in your voice. anyway - I just discovered this encouraging comment you made over a year ago and I appreciate it. peace . best in 2013. dan
This has a familiarity that I cant put my finger on, a cracking start to something conceptual, downloading, with your permission would be cool to have a go at remixing and extending this, let me know first, cool sound. cheers.
hey salook. thanks for taking a listen. i hear the tambour giving way to a less driving beat, the solo instrument becoming part of this less driving groove, and adding some background color. then bringing back original groove like a refrain with some variation, then breaking into something epic for a conclusion. did you ever do anything with this puppy? midisparks
thanks Kenny Lee. just trying to get my chops a little stronger. working out a few basics. the short loops have been more helpful for that process. regards. Dan
I know this is meant to be short as it's clips for your site, but it would be really great and interesting to extend them to a 'full length' song.
Seriously, this is a really great start, you have good foundations to make it longer without fearing loss of inspiration or ideas.
Anyway, you must be tired of reading and replying the same thing, lol. Keep going, love those sounds, very visual and absorbing music!
hey ALXSIX. how have you been? yup - it's time to start thinking about growing this puppy. thought is to take down the intensity of drum groove, add solo instrument as part of less intense groove, start introducing more ambient content. keep bringing back original drum groove sporadically and maybe more reality sound effect hits (like the gunshot and the chimes)at those points to mark action. finally break into the fullest orchestration at the end with an epic theme. peace. midisparks
I have to dido whats been said already, ends to soon, brings a bit of fantasy and abrupt chaos for me. I like it. U really got talent with this area of music.
i appreciate the encouraging words. next step on this puppy is to refine and take down intensity of the groove. start coloring the background a bit more. so i'm on it - and thanks for the encouraging push. peace. midisparks
Gosh yes, what he said, why did this end so soon?
I was just getting into it,and, kapow,it was gone!
This could really be a magical track if you take it somewhere?
Love what you do,even though I feel it's just an starter to a really spectacular main course!g.xx
lofthouse - appreciate very much the review. i will start growing these clips eventually. have been focused on short statements which work on my website where I attach these clips to visual images. look forward to checking out more of your stuff. peace (and relief in Japan) midisparks
Love the classic bit sound guns. Captures the dark night vibe pretty good. In my head I see silhouettes jumping from tree to tree, ninja style. Church kinda in the background, just barely visible here and there through the fog. Very visual music lol. Makes me wanna fire up a game and play! Cheers :D
i appreciate the review. i hoped to evoke something like you described. i listened to a few of your guitar licks. looking forward to using them and will share when/how I do. peace

Description : Ok...here it is! Another colab with maestro Tumbleweed! Ed provided the unfinished, basic track...I composed and recorded the long intro using different synths and then added piano (well to the fore) and some brass arrangements along the rest of the track (no violin this time...hehe) and then did the final mixing to wrap it up as it is presented now. I hope you will enjoy it and we both appreciate your listening time and your valuable comments:) Otherwise all thanks to Ed!
Description : Just send me the link where you use that, please
Anyway, I'm looking for artists, especially doing melodic techno, deep house etc... to work in my music label called Chick Records

Description : Dark, slow, ambient, cinematic jazz with funereal piano turning into something much funkier, psychedelic and beautiful in the second half. Out of the darkness and into the light, you could say. Instruments: electric guitar + bass, lots of synth sounds, including a horn, double bass, another big legato bass, pizzicato strings, two types of piano, a heavily delayed slide guitar instrument, zither, synth arp, one brushy drum loop, kettle drum rolls and 4 programmed acoustic drum kits. This is quite a special track for me and is only the second I've put in the cinematic genre. The more you listen, the more it changes (it even has key changes) and the last three minutes are really quite far out and should probably be longer. Best track I've made for a few months. Interesting thoughts and reflections appreciated. Free sex for the best reviews...
This track is an elaboration of dgalantic’s track “Starting Over 0172257.” It is almost entirely comprised of loops by other artists on looperman. The newsreel in the intro section is from public domain footage of the Vietnam War. Prince Fatty chimes later in with some words of wisdom. The track was sequenced with Mixtikl and edited in Audacity.
Loops from the following artists are included:
1. ThatJeffCarter’s guitar “feedback 197765”
2. three of Nightingale’s harmonica trills: “angels 0088377, inner light 0088361 and never and never 0088366”
3. Heavily fx’ed vocal excerpts from Eshar’s “7th Dimension 0002644”
4. Dcmack’s rhythm loops “2 bass drums 1- 0085449, 2- 0085446, and 4- 0085448.”
5. Steelyvibe’s choral wash “luno frunezo 0005719”
6. Nightingale’s guitar loop “diving deep 0043488”
7. Rasputin1963’s chorals “ soul ladies gospel riff 0088641 and reggae soul girls choir 0087693”

Description : So a new track for everyone. Im pretty impressed by this one, and would even place it higher than one of my best tracks, Angel And A Demon. However, I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put vocals to it. I have some in mjnd, but idk if itd be better to leave as is and keep it instrumental or not. Take a listen and let me know! Also, let me know if anything is too loud, still working on my mastering.
Description : NEVER STOP DREAMING!
