It seems to me perfect for an intro.

Then you can extend it and add an electric guitar (calm or aggressive), or acoustics to complement this melody.

You should not take this melody alone on the whole track, well, you yourself understand this, it can only supplement.

Shoudn't need a BPM change, just chop off the beginning and put it at the end to get a more clean loop. I did it like that on purpose but the BPM is 150
