Type Rasputin1963 into the "By Member" section of the "Search For Loops" thing to the right, click "Find Loops," then comment on one of his loops asking what genre this loop is with a link to it :)
This is one of those clips that's so bizarre that you have no idea what on Earth you would ever use it for, but you can't allow yourself the opportunity to have it in your library because whatever this belongs in couldn't possibly function without it. I hope to report back with a song some day. Thanks for posting!
I wish I could edit these comments, too... No, they're etched in stone once you press Post Reply.
This particular rhythm I derived from listening to a favorite old Brazilian recording called "Quilombo, or El Dorado Negro" by Gilberto Gil. You might look for it on YouTube. Quilombo was a settlement in Northeastern Brazil where escaped African slaves had formed their own free community.
I think this rhythm, and the instruments in it, are very very particular to Brazilian folklore.
I've been working with this blind drummer, and he shipped a track that I wasn't really sure what to do with at first. I loved this piano series enough to use the whole thing in the opening, with decreasing distortion over time and hairpin tempo changes to match the percussion. It ended up setting the tone for most of the piece. Keep posting, I'd love to hear more from you! Here's the track I used it in https://soundcloud.com/itzmrwolf/joey-and-the-transdimensional-orchestra-return-of-the-joey
The vocals are the vocals, this track was meant to be paired with african drums, which is where the loop gets its name. I used that sample in this song, which you can hear fading in at 0:38 and 1:16. Thanks, Mos! https://soundcloud.com/itzmrwolf/simmsmayneedmastering
