Sorry this is late but had to revisit what I did! I use notes From the C Dorian scale: C E Bflat D Eflat G F and A. I would experiment with chords from the C Major and C minor scale, as both scales sound okay to me when I play them over the loop. Let me know if you manage to make this work for you. Good luck!
