I found a popular Darkwave playlist on Spotify, and totally agree your loop would sound awesome in that genre!
I can also see how it would sound totally out of place to your ear the way I used it. :) Plus, I've only been producing for a few weeks now and my mixing skills are still pretty awful.
It may sound a little off, but it's still one of my favorite parts- thanks so much for contributing to the community here!
Personally, my forte is Metal Guitar and like you, I only started getting into VST composition recently myself. Although I spent the last 10 years learning how to utilize most of my software. I began making parts for different genres as an incremental way of learning the artform. So, now I have decided to take up an IDM project. I only have two tracks thus far and that took me about six months! I'm kind of a perfectionist. So, I'm hoping to have it complete by March 2019.
