Thank you so much Scott for your kind words and appreciation. As I mentioned in my description of the song, it is a tribute to my father and an effort to keep his legacy relevant.
Hi Twanna - I'm new hear and have been trawling through tracks when I came across you name ( I was checking out Planetjazzbass at the time). As my name here is fawanna I thought that it was only right that I should check out your music. They say there is no such thing as coincidence, and judging by how much I enjoyed your track I would tend to agree. Good song, great singing and a fabulous guitar solo. The mix was a bit muddy but that could just be my speakers.
Hi Twanna, thanks for comments. I love this track, your songs are touching, personal, beautiful and your voice is amazing. Your father is a true legend and it's wonderful you are keeping him alive through your music. I also am mad about in your words "Fonk". I was in love with Michael Jackson when he was in the Jackson Five and then I heard Marvin Gaye and that was it...I've never been the same since. I remember dancing so much to Ike and Tina we had great times growing up with all that wonderful music. I got to see one of my fav bands last year Earth Wind and Fire, Philip Bailey is still incredible. I"m also a mad fan of Maxwell too gorgeous for words and Aretha Franklin, MJ Blige, Erykah Badu, etc etc,,, the list is too long. I hope you tour Australia...I"m still trying to get to the States and really want to go to New Orleans.
I hope to see you tour!!!
Thank you Carol for comment. It is greatly appreciated. I stopped by your Loop Page, great voice! You have provided a wealth of pella's for artists to choose from.
Hi Twanna..Great,great,great tune!...Wow,talk about a here and now huge sound,it's awesome!....Allen has a superb touch, that guy can really play and his work here is no exception,an excellent solo!.I love those audio excerpts from Ike,it gives the whole piece a profound provenance that so many people who grew up with Ike's music can relate to....It must be very emotional for you to undertake a work of this nature and when I'm listening to it I can hear Ike's musical legacy flowing strong and true....There is undoubtedly thousands upon thousands of fans of his that would dearly love to hear this tune, maybe youtube is the answer,I don't know...what I do know is your an exceptional and very special talent!!
Dave, my many apologies for not getting back to you sooner. There is so much going on and time got away from me.
Your comments touched my heart. You also caught what was my intent in composing this track...to let those who love and appreciate my father's contribution to music he him speak as to what and who he was. To be his voice...to keep him relevant...to keep him alive in the hearts of those who love him for who he was and for those who appreciate his music.
a serious and thoughtful striking song that should make everyone think twice about how venomous fame can be - this is noble and strong.
and once again Allen is supernatural and simpatico.
much, much respect
Thank you MStokes for your heartfelt sentiment. I am very passionate about this song and it is my prayer that it not only brings awareness regarding the "dark side" of fame, but also the truth about who my father really was.
Thank you Darkreine. That was my intention when I composed this. I wanted to put bone, blood, and sinew to him. I wanted to be his voice and to show that he was human and not just some entity. I wanted it to be know that he has family and friends who dearly love him. He was not only a father, but a grandfather, brother, cousin...human. My prayer is that one day, the world will get a chance to know who the REAL Ike Turner was and see him for who he really was.
Allen, Allen, Allen...what can I say? You are a master with your gift and I am so privileged and blessed to have been able to work with you. My cousin, who is my father's cousin, loves your playing and we are both of the same mind, we wish my father had a chance to hear you play. He would have loved you. Not only as a musician, but as a person too!
wow.....very pro Twanna1...super job on the lyrics & vocal delivery....AllenV is always good musical company to have on a track...a big well done to both of you....Ed
Thank you Ed for your appreciation. Allen's playing has always taken my projects to another level. He is not only a fantastic musician, but a great person as well.
Thank you again for stopping by and your wonderful comments.
Thank you so much Mykael, for your kind words and appreciation. I am VERY excited about this track. There is always two sides to every story and I wanted to be a voice for my father.
Hey Twanna, sorry it took me so long to drop by.....but like fine wine, this one is well worth the wait. I absolutely love your voice. As Dave so eloquently stated, you are a special talent and it is a shame the world hasn't had the opportunity to hear your work.
Who knows, perhaps in the near future some really smart and alert A/R rep will pay your profile a visit. Until then, just know you have fans out here who think you are amazing.
Hey there Twanna...Whoa! this is some incredible sound you've got happening,it's huge!..talk about presence, what a fantastic vocal performance on top of a great groove with excellent song construction!...this is totally epic I don't know how you do it(well I do,but I can't do it! lol)...you really are a special talent,I'm amazed your not being signed for your own television show (maybe you are!)..I just don't understand the entertainment industry these days, there's heaps of people swanning around the hit parades that don't have half your abilities..amazing performance Twanna!..Encore!
cheers Dave :)
I so appreciate for your comment, Dave. You are one of "The Loop's" finest musicians and your critiques are heartfelt!! I was so inspired to compose a song to convey that "Epic" event, The Passion of Christ. This is what moves and directs my life.
I am new to the site first day hear and a friend told me about it. As I am on this quest to find music for my project I am working on. I must say I love the song the flow is wonderful. I am curious do you write for others?
Thank you Chris for your kind review. Yes, although I have collaborated on projects with others on "The Loop", I have never written for anyone specifically. But I am willing to give it a whirl.
God bless and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you for this important song and for feeling impressed to sing about this subject.
Your voice is fantastic and the message cannot be denied.
All of your great production and serious unrelenting melody drives this track home...as it should.
Allen, the "fire" you gave to this track added tremendously to the depth of the outcome. You leave your "signature" in whatever track you are a part of.
Thank you Janis for your kind words. The subject of the song is one that is very dear to me. I wanted to bring this worldwide plight to the attention to all.
Hey there Twanna....what a cool flowing vibe this track has!!...I've met a lot of musicians in my life, some are great producers and instrumentalists, some talented vocalists and others excellent song writers and lyricists but it's very rare to find it all focused within one individual such as yourself...I think I'm coming to the realisation that you truly are blessed.....doing what your doing makes the world a better place.
Dave :)
Dave, you have truly touched my heart with your review. I thank my Lord continually for the gift He has given me and it means so much that you recognize it is indeed a blessing from Him.
I started exercising my gift at eight years old by writing songs with my guitar about my life. One might ask how much could one write about at only eight years old...a lot. Music has always been my way of expression. My family could always know what was going on with me by the songs I wrote. It is still that way today, but with much more vigor.
I pray you are having a wonderful week and I look forward to sharing with you again.
excellent track in its self, was waiting to hear some vocals, as you know I am a massive fan of your singing, one the best here on the loop, yep you worked with some talent here from the loop for sure, loved the track sweet...excellent...Peace...Mos...
Hello, my dear friend!!! I so appreciate your review.
I had a vocal melody line set up for this track, but it made the a little too long, so I decided to make it an instrumental with vocal hits to support the chorus.
Thank you again, my friend and I pray all is well with you.
great piece of cinematic work Twanna1...you had some talented musicians on board, but it takes big compositional talent to put one like this together...great track...much enjoyed...Ed
AllenV and shortbus has really nice tracks on here. And you blended them together quite nicely. Cinematic music is arguably my most favorite genre because of the imagery it gives you so easily. Conjuring mental images within the brains corridors. great track man. peace
Hi Twanna....apart from being totally stoked to participate in this great track of yours,it's fantastic just to listen to the depth of your musical skill,it fairly radiates I can tell you!....I think from a listener's standpoint it's sometimes easy to overlook the trials and tribulations that an artist undergoes before they release a creative statement about their experiences,if anything it proves that making music is a healing process within itself...I'm a fan for life!
Dave :)
Again, thank you so much for your contribution in getting my point across in this track. People don't know this about me, but I am very shy. At times it is very hard for me to convey what I really feel. But the Lord has given me the ability through music and His precious Spirit, to truly express myself.
I am so humbled and honored by your appreciation, but need to give credit where credit is due. The Lord has truly blessed me with a wonderful gift and I will continue to use it to glorify Him. I know this may sound a little "preachy", but this is my heart, this is me, this is my life.
I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with you and hope to have many more.
Wow Twanna, this is fantastic. Your dad would have loved Allen's amazing guitar work. Thanks for including me in this amazing track. This one is definitely ready for prime time. It would be awesome to hear it in a film.
Your genius is not limited to your wonderful voice, it also extends to your production and arranging skills.
Absolutely fantastic work - and a huge tip of the hat to Allen.
Wow, wow, and wow!!!!!! Wishing I had the old favorite button back again :) I hope you are well.
Lovely feel to this track. Love the laid back and very infectious rhythm. It has quite a "dark" side to it too which makes it so interesting. Love the vocal, rhythmic and punchy. Fantastic - love it.

In the 80's I worked with a sax player, Earl Lett, who played with the Ike and Tina Review. We did allot of the funk and soul of the time.
Cheers,
