Hey Dave, it's been a long time and looks like you haven't posted on here in awhile (I've only recently returned to the platform), I do hope all is well with you my friend. Came across this track by accident and can't believe I hadn't heard this before when I was on the platform years and years ago.
Playing harmonics within the actual bass groove really sets the track to another level. Love the jazz influence / production of what you've done here and it all sounds great. And what a great tribute to the man James Jamerson, enjoyed this very much.
Interesting that you used the vocal you used, I was (very pleasantly) listening at work and the male voice came through...and made me sit up, eyebrows raised. :-) Your work, of course, is of great quality and this was easy listening. This will be played over and over while relaxing in the is thing called life. Always a pleasure visiting your place Dave. Pretty soon you're gonna have to start making muzic again, just so I don't run out of reasons to stop by. :-)
Be all psychedelic & shit. Pretty chill rip for a day of 420 beach time. Gets a little harsh in spots, but that's not a bad thing. Great work all the way round.
Long time to see (or hear for that matter). I was travelling through tracks and found this beauty. Playing live I have had the opportunity to play a lot more jazz and fusion and this reminds me of some of those moments of genius that happen spontaneously. I really chilled out on this one while printing at work. How is the luthier work going? Cheers buddy!
Hey there mate, your a sight for sore eyes! long time no see buddy...I have to admit that since the overwhelming insurgence of soundcloud blowins on Looperman my music and participation has dropped off somewhat , but mainly because I've been busy doing other things, such as moving to the country, the luthiery is going well, I've got two telecaster type guitars and a few more basses in the works, I've actually turned over a new leaf and have stopped bitching about HipHop punks in the forums! lol. I'll be concentrating on my music now and channelling the forces of niceness! haha...man at some point in the future we'll have to get together for a collab again, I have just about every bass tone on tap now! :)...great to see you again Bill! cheers Dave :)
Ahhhhhh! I remember this one!
Such a smooth long ride kinda of vibe.
It's the one I wanted to hear,
I searched for it,
but I thought I remembered the one I really liked was something about the road or road trip.
Anyhoo, I will download this one and continue my search.
I've been away looking for a rapper to collab. Hehehe
Actually, I've been away tending to life. :-)
Hope life is treating you well Dave!
Dear Pat, so happy to see you back here on Lookingforarapper.com ;)..seriously though your presence back here made my day! I too have been taking care of life which is good, I haven't been producing much recorded music lately but that's about to change, I'm definitely on the threshold of a big creative period. It's always great to hear from you and I know your always walking in the light, stay blessed as they say...cheers Dave :)
Hey Malu, wow man coming from a pro like yourself that's music to my ears! I sometimes think the little audio asides I add maybe counter productive to the main groove so it's good to hear their working out fine, very much appreciate you stopping for a listen mate!...cheers Dave :)
That's a slick track bro, I really dig the groovy vibe throughout. The guitars are killer man, I gotta listen to more of your stuff. Love that outtro too, so seductive and mysterious. The bongo’s are a nice touch and fit the theme. I can close my eyes and picture a dawn patrol off Ocean City in the younger days. I did a little surfing and some skate boarding during my fearless (and little regard for life) teens. Have to admit that I was expecting something more along the lines of Dick Dale, Jan and Dean, The Ventures or the Beach Boys from the title. Even though we were a few generations or so from that era, when it came to music there were certain songs that were considered "Holy Grail" and required listening. My favorite was Catch a Wave by the Beach Boys, which Endless Summer pretty much was the soundtrack of my life between the ages of 14 -16. I still get chills when I listen to it. During that time I discovered music, surfing, girls and got my drivers license. The age of innocence was over, it was a great time! Thanks for the download on this one and also for triggering the ol' memory banks !
Hey Neo thanks buddy! it's great remembering times back on the coast and I'm glad this track achieved a little of that for you, damn I need to move to a warmer climate (water wise) haha I've turned into a whimp, no 10mm neoprene wetsuits for me!..really appreciate you dropping by mate...cheers Dave :)
Hey Renz thanks man, I actually surfed once at night but got totally paranoid about sharks! haha the cloak of darkness is good for some tings though!..very much appreciate you dropping by mate! cheers Dave :)

I'm starting to listen more and more to songs in which the bass player actually plays a melody, and yourplaying is spot on.
The drums are great. The mix is brilliant, dark yet atmospheric. This is getting faved and downloaded!

This is truly amazing and impressive.
Listening to this late night, under the cloak of darkness and it blew my mind.
Great arrangement! Great grooves. Love hearing a true musician do his thing.
